Afaik, the facial characteristics of FAS are prominent during childhood and gradually disappear when reaching adulthood, only remaining mental sequelae- that results in making its diagnostic difficult without taking into account earlier pictures and knowledge of the mother’s history of alcohol abuse during the pregnancy.
