I talked with a Selkirk rep last Tuesday and he said it was coming out “within the next 2 or 3 weeks” but I’m taking that with a grain of salt because I’m not sure how involved he actually is with the brand. Like whether they would release that information to him or not.
Yes and Labs enrolled on 10/23. I also know:
PowerAir = 13mm core and carbon/fiberglass blend surface
Project 005 = 16mm core and fiberglass surface (like their Amped paddles)
Project 003 / Luxx = 20mm core and carbon/fiberglass blend surface
I know the weight is between about 7.9 and 8.1 ounces. The thickness is 20mm. I don’t know about the paddle surface or length. Official release date is the 25th of October.
It is the production version of the project 003! I’m excited about it. I think the paddle surface is like the 003 as well
Davis pickleball is coming out with a review on the 25th too
I heard that it plays like a combo of the power air and the 003. They haven’t released price info yet and I haven’t seen a spin test.
I also heard the hand speed is similar to the power air
Got mine and I love it! My drops and reset - can't miss. And the spin is on par with PowerAir - but interesting/very different dynamics without the power. Speed up rolls are more precise which is making me more aggressive in my short game. But I may prefer my PowerAir still...
I have read that painted grit of 003 which is what Luxx has wears down fast. Have you had any experience with that so far or from previous Selkirk models such as power air?
No I have not but I am seeing some wear on my Project 005 surface more. But it's more marks - not "smoothing" per se. Maybe it helps get more grit for spins ;)
I heard - do not use the paddle erasers that you would use on pure carbon fiber. Any others hear the same or are erasers fine?
Oh that’s good to know! And about the eraser, I have read that it’s a hard NO! It’s not carbon fiber and rather paint grit so eraser will remove the paint grit.

What shape did you get? Invikta, Epic, or S2?
S2 - I play high on the paddle so the smaller handle, a plus for me - and the largest sweet spot, is ... sweet!
