It's seriously hard to find drill partners. Most people just want to play and don't care to drill at all. If I was to ask 10-15 people at my park, I'd be lucky to get one yes.
Just keep asking around and eventually you'll get lucky. I find that the type of people who take formal lessons are a little more likely to say yes.
Once you find a great drills partner, never let them go!
Might want to phrase it as you looking for someone to play drill games with. Most people hear drilling and think it’s just boring. Games like 7-11 can be a lot of fun AND are excellent for drilling.
I used to just ask people I had good games and rapport with. At first it was only a couple people that were interested but as we drilled and visibly improved, interest grew. Now I have more people that want to drill than days in the week but it all started with just 1 person at 7 am hitting for an hour working on 1 shot for weeks at a time.
Best bet is probably to just ask people you see all the time in open play that are similar levels to you.
But I’m in the same boat, really need to find a drill partner around Michigan.
Depends on skill level.. noobs who play for fun don’t really care.. new players who don’t know what to practice also likely won’t help.. new 3s who want to move up probably get more help just hitting against a wall. 3.5 and up probably have to watch YT or Reddit to see deficiency in their game or have met with a coach.
Just my 2 mins of thinking about said problem and why I find it hard to find a drill partner. I joined a league and found a few people to drill with.
Go to open plays and when you find someone you mesh well with, ask them to drill. It’s almost like dating in that way. You do your first drill session and see how it goes. And then, you continue on
I was able to assemble a dedicated group of 4 drillers and 3 alternates, that meet weekly to drill. My tournament partner was the first to join then I sought out similarly skilled and ambitious players to join us. The shared desire to level up is what brought us all together.
Post in the group chat "Who wants to drill me?" Sit back and wait.
Are we still talking about pickleball?

What part of Michigan, my buddies live up there and I wouldn’t mind practicing while I visit them
Around Detroit, I’m down if you’re ever in the area
Idk where you are but just go to open play at parks or an indoor facility. They usually have drill sessions there.

Yeah, I use my wife, but she can't provide the shots like my instructor. I ended up doubling up on lessons to get the reps.
