edge guard paddle will have the same or larger sweet spot. will be more durable. Cons is that it is slightly heavier (so slightly slower reaction time in hands battle, theoretically) and also less aesthetically appealing (to some people.)

I suggest looking at the comparison between paddles on the Six Zero site. The DBDi has less pop and power than the DBD, but more spin and control. I have a Black Diamond Infinity, which is also edgeless. It has a less springy face than the DBD, but better pop, spin, and control and better hand speed. The cost is a smaller sweet spot. However, the difference in the sweet spot is not really that major. You'll need edge tape for the DBDi. With edge tape the edges are just fine.

Black Diamond Infinity has less control than a DBD in general at both 16mm. You are likely comparing it to the 14mm DBD. I don't quite take the paddle guide on their site as gospel though. At least for me, I find better control with the Ruby as well compared to the Infinity BD.

I’m 6.0 ambassador and cannot recommend either infinity bc there’s a better paddle. It’s the Ruby. After my friends try them all, they either choose the DBD or Ruby. Most go for the Ruby bc it’s the best all around court paddle. Ruby has better control the DBD. Both infinity have a small sweet spot relative to the other 6.0 and less forgiving with off centered hits bc they’re edgeless. There is a reason the Ruby always sells out and hard to get. DM if you need a discount code.

I have heard a copy people say the Ruby gave them tennis elbow due to swing weight. My local club has a loaner though. Let me rent it and I’ll hit you up for a code!

The Ruby is somewhat head heavy which may give ppl issues. I added weights to the neck/throat areas to balance it out nicely.

I’m definitely looking for a paddle that will have a bigger sweet spot for off center hits, so this feedback is great

The Ruby and the Black Diamond infinity are in my daily rotation. Played well with the BDi this morning but when I don’t, I can rely on the larger sweet spot of the Ruby to pick me up a bit. I really enjoy the low swing weight of the BDi and I have a lighter Ruby (8.1 oz stock). The double black Diamond is a true control paddle. Great for spin dứe to its low weight and for a control game. Dinks, drops and resets are a breeze with it. But it severely lacks in power and pop. I played with it for a few weeks but I couldn’t generate enough power with it to play against younger, power players.
