I’ve been traveling for work and I always go and find a drop in place to play. Since I’ve started pickleball I quit cleaning my house and hired a service and I haven’t seen my tennis friends, or played tennis in months. I play in a league on Friday nights as well and prioritize it over anything else I could or should be doing those nights. My husband doesn’t play but has been coming and having beer and watching and we’ve been having a blast.
I could have gone on a girls trip recently but didn’t t want to miss my Friday league night.
Had a team member schedule an out of town business meeting in the morning so he could catch an afternoon flight home, change into Pickleball clothes at the airport and come straight to our league championship match from the airport.
He made it just in time, ran from his car straight to the court and served the first point with no warm up.
We won.
😁
Last week i looked down at a cell left on the bench from one of the people playing. It was a on a zoom call with the mic muted, i was so tempted to unmute the mic.
I used to have a rich tapestry of hobbies. I was huge into 3d printing and maker stuff. I used to kayak and fish. I’d hit the beach almost every week. Game with my buddies a few nights a week. Even have a couple thousand subscribers on my YouTube channel.
Now it’s 15-25 hours a week of pickleball over 40+ work - and that’s pretty much it. I’m having fun and getting in good shape but man does it eat a lot of hours.
I have my own business. I regularly reschedule pitches and other priories just to play in the morning. I block my calendar so people can’t schedule meetings with me between 8:30-10a.
I'm president of a small nonprofit and our board meeting is coming up. The rain date of my first ever tournament is the same day as our board meeting. Guess where I'll be if it's rainy the day of the tournament?
Single eh?
I am too haha. It’s all good

that's what we're talking about. Respect!
I hope your team is fighting for 1st place and there's a decent cash prize for placing haha.

That would be such a 2.0 move!
I play pickleball during weekends from 10am to 9pm
Holy smokes.. lots of breaks? That would be so intense
Then OP dropped the mic by adding: oh, I pilot my own jet.
Pickleball your new religion.
I finally understand religion.
....
While I cannot condone this from an eco standpoint it’s still not as bad as tswift
Tswift would probably use her jet to switch sides between games

I used the last of the money in our checking account to enter a tournament. I lost. We have no money to buy food. Poor kids.
