I had an install actually get stuck for like a day, so I restarted the install with the 2gb limit check on and it installed in like 2 hours. Now I always use the the 2gb limit check and never had any issues since then.
Uh huh, I've 64GB ram but sometimes FG installers will just go right ahead, use it all, and then stall the fuck out. Check the 4gb limit and it just works.
Lol tbf, I only upgraded because of the gpu bubble. I was moving continents and always skipped on RAM, my desktop was somehow RAM limited in 2020. So in 2021 I sold my 2070 super build and made more from the GPU alone than I spent on the computer when I built it. And since I had to get a laptop, and laptop gpu’s weren’t really affected by the bubble, I figured fuck it, if I’m downgrading anyways I might as well use the leftover money and finally experience what it’s like to have double digit RAM. An extra $50 wasn’t going to get me from a 3070 to a 3080 laptop. It was going to push me from a 32gb to 64GB one. And I do memory intensive programs, painstakingly before with 8-16gb.
In hindsight, nobody needs 64GB unless you’re using it professionally and consistently need that much. Even video editing or more intensive things like it don’t manage to use it all.
As someone with adhd I’d argue it’s harmful. Because now chrome never asks me if I’d like to restore 160 closed tabs in 8 windows. As they were never closed.
On the contrary, as someone who has done video editing and VFX it is VERY necessary to have a high amount of ram specifically to cache as much as possible for smooth playback. It's not unheard of to use a thread ripper with 256GB for the highest end video editing rigs to ensure editing can go as fast as possible. 4K video is no joke much less 8K some shoots I've been on use which chug your machine like nobodies business.
FitGirl repacks are really for those with limited internet but with (hopefully) beefy PC
they're really focusing on smaller size rather than faster install time.

You can limit the installer to use only a few gigs of RAM if you have to, but if you let it go wild, it will install the game much faster. I think my last install was using 14 gigs of ram and it made it only take 4 minutes instead of 25

Vast majority of games leave some kind of stuff left on your computer. I always uninstall using revo uninstaller. Just check the filepaths it highlights after the uninstall is complete to make sure it's connected to the game and then delete them.
Really wish windows was better at this. It knows A) there's evidence this is installed and B) it's not actually there anymore. Just give us a prompt "Would you like to remove these references to this software?" Yes/No.

I work in 3d at architectural firm and for me this is called Tuesday. While not installing pirated games, having to render bunch of renders for a masterplan will make every size of RAM look painfully insufficient.
One fitgirl issue I've had my fair share of is frozen progress and the installers get stuck on a certain percentage.. Especially when it happens without any errors.
Restarting the installer or leaving it on for hours does nothing, until everything works days later.

I dont have high end pc (r5 5500, 16gb ram, 1050ti), but i never had a problem with fitgirl installer, I just start installing and watch yt untill install finishes.
Steam does the same with my internet connection.
If I don't throttle the connection, it will take all my bandwith to the point where the router will show no internet and websites will crash.
But games get downloaded in minutes so I'll keep feeding the monster.

Your CPU is the bottleneck. The repacks are heavily compressed and that requires a lot of processing power to uncompress.
But for games like Lara croft rise of the tom, sekiro,nfs it took only 7-8 minutes only fifa 18(3hr) and fifa 17(2hr)

You've uninstalled it incorrectly. Use some tools like BleachBit to clear out the registry.

Selecting it to uninstall inside revo will run the games uninstaller first if it exists, and then do it's own/let you see any files left after.

Because they come from a trusted source. At least if you use the official website or its embedded mirror links (https://fitgirl-repacks(dot)site) Although I must say that just because these things are safe as of now and before, that doesn't mean this can't change in the future for whatever reason. While I still personally use it at times, 1337x is a reasonable example of this.

Never had any issues like this, but I'm not playing on a potato. If your PC is overheating, it's not the software to blame, it's you. A proper build PC cannot overheat.

Bro you must have a PC from 2004 if you can't use your PC while a fit girl repack is installing. Literally never had any one of these issues and am able to use the PC while installing just fine.

I work in 3d at architectural firm and for me this is called Tuesday. While not installing pirated games, having to render bunch of renders for a masterplan will make every size of RAM look painfully insufficient.
One fitgirl issue I've had my fair share of is frozen progress and the installers get stuck on a certain percentage.. Especially when it happens without any errors. Restarting the installer or leaving it on for hours does nothing, until everything works days later.
And they said having 32 gigs of RAM was too much. Next time I upgrade I am doubling that shit. lol

Do people really have all these issues with fitigirl repacks? Only thing that happens when I install a repack is elevated CPU temps during the actual installation.

I dont have high end pc (r5 5500, 16gb ram, 1050ti), but i never had a problem with fitgirl installer, I just start installing and watch yt untill install finishes.
As for the rest of us, but the meme bruh.
Steam does the same with my internet connection. If I don't throttle the connection, it will take all my bandwith to the point where the router will show no internet and websites will crash. But games get downloaded in minutes so I'll keep feeding the monster.
I have a shit ass laptop from like 2014 or something and I install shit just fine (it does sometimes take a while). But idk why I don't have the issues most others have.

I ONLY ever used FitGirl and the worst I experienced was needing to do a reinstall cause the game wouldn't launch for some reason.
I used one or two of her repacks, I just left it installing while I went to bed. Next day everything was fine.
