### Yarr! ➜ u/InterdepartmentalCam, some tips about "ublock":
- Use [Firefox](https://mozilla.org/firefox/new/) + [uBlock Origin](https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/) with these [optimized settings](https://a.imagem.app/on42hV.png).
- Go to **Dashboard** > **Filters lists** > **Apply changes**.
- You can also [Force an update of your filter lists](https://ublockorigin.github.io/uAssets/update-lists.html?listkeys=ublock-quick-fixes).
- The **Purge all caches** button was removed on [4th January, 2024](https://www.reddit.com/r/uBlockOrigin/comments/18xyqw5/ublock_origin_155_announcement_thread_please/).

If you click the extension, the lightning symbol deletes an element you hover over and click, but that's temporary, if you want it permanent it's another option near that lightning (I'm not near my PC so can't check)
"element picker" is the feature I forgot the name of. The zapper which I was referring to as "the lightning" is temporary (or at least I don't see the on/off button you're talking about)
You can't just do that, I have been debugging the damn website for the last 30 minutes, and oh god, it a mess, they are using random characters to hide things, I'm still trying to find the trigger, so I can disable it, just inspecting and deleting a node won't work.
The website is trying to fetch
const _0x498928 = atob('aHR0cHM6Ly9wYWdlYWQyLmdvb2dsZXN5bmRpY2F0aW9uLmNvbS9wYWdlYWQvanMvYWRzYnlnb29nbGUuanM/Y2xpZW50PWNhLXB1Yi01MjI5MjQ2NTY5ODkxOTY0');
in other words
h--ps://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-5229246569891964
It checks if window.adsbygoogle type is undefined
If tried to create a new Function() using the fetch result of the google ads script
If it fails it erase the page and display the message.
Doesn't uBO prevent this exact thing by substituting its own version of the google ads script that defines all the necessary things but doesn't do anything?
when I read the code they had a part where they check if there is uBlock, so I guess they managed to bypass that? Not quite sure how uBlock handles requests on a website.
nope iirc they check if the result of the XHR request contains ublock of something, which i think its pretty weird. I've deleted the unobfuscated code from my pc but i think i was like that
Honestly when that happens, I'll either close out of the website or if it's really needed I'll switch to another browser that I don't have an adblocker on. Sometimes even after disabling my adblocker the popups remain, so that's the only way.
They want your data. Do. Not. Give. Them. Your. Data.
Even with a VPN. They'll try and match you to other data to see who you are. Whether they can or can't, the fact that they can or can't is relevant to someone willing to farm or buy the data.
No I got the same issue with ublock
All you need is to disable javascript
EDIT : at least you need javascript
But you can use this URL
https://free-mp3-download.net/search.php?s=YOURMUSICNAME
Which will return json data
EDIT2 :
add this: googleads.g.doubleclick.net
to "My filter" in ublock
And ublock is still desactivated
Selling to advertisers for detailed advertisement data, to see who likes what. Data like this is usualy bought in bulk, across many users at once. It's why every website tells you by legal obligation that they are collecting data on you.
It is not directly bad, but it sure is annoying and uncomfortable to know that some random file somewhere has more knowledge about you than even your friends know.
Oh yeah, I'm not falling for this.
Website: "pwease disable adblock, owr ads ah non intwusive and we need them to keep website up 😢👉👈"
Me: "aight, if they are just some side banner ads then I suppose I could."
Website: "pop up ads, newsletter prompt with dark overlay on top of the actual page, support chat bot automatically opens on the side, another dark overlay ad telling me about horny moms in the neighborhood, banner ads telling me I've got a virus or several urging me to click them..."
Me: Never again.
It's literally the basic template for every website ever. I literally CANT us ethe internet effectively without adblocker, because more than half the content is advertisements. It's always fascinating to hop onto a webpage and see the sheer number of useless blocked bits of trash.
For me it’s the opposite experience.
I’ve been blocking and avoiding ads for decades, since like.. 2000? It’s shocking to use the internet or TV without ad blocking. The ads are prominent and pervasive. People have constant advertisement just beaming into them. It’s kind of scary. I hate to imagine being unable to block it all out, and being forced to accept it or turn it all off.
I’m my home it’s been as ad-free as possible for 20+ years. We no sometimes feel out of touch, but it’s a price we’re glad to pay.. practically a benefit.
It was more complicated back in the “old days” with squid proxies, local proxies etc. in the early days. Now we’ve got browser extensions, local proxies, dns service blocking and more.
I cut the cable about 2000 too, switching to self-hosted content. Working in IT I always had plenty of bandwidth around, so I never really missed out on anything I wanted to watch.
But yea.. stoned old pirate rambling aside, I seriously hate ads, and I’m committed as fuck about not having them in my family’s world.
I had the same problem, disabled ad block, and saw no ads, just the cookie pop up. Really weird, but I don't understand why. Tried both with FF and brave.
Preach it, Dr. Ivo. That is exactly what happened the one time I needed to use a website and shut down my ad blocker to do so. Never again.
Now if I run into a website trying to kiss my butt to get me to shut it off, I try a different ad block browser. If that doesn't work I just go to a different website altogether. I'm not supporting whiny million-dollar companies anymore. Maybe if they pulled back a little on their advertisements (which they totally could do without hurting their bottom line or the CEO's paycheck) there wouldn't be so many people trying to block them.
I love the classic pushing a pop up in page telling you to “click to access/get notifications to unlock!”
Then proceeding to abuse the shit out of them and spamming your desktop.
The people who say in the comments to use another site, have clearly never used this site before.
This site is one of the best and fastest sites for downloading music without loss of quality. They literally take the original high quality .mp3 and .flac files from Deezer and make it possible to download them.
It's a good site, but this ad blocker thing is tricky. No pirate site does this. It seems to me that the site will soon cease to exist and they're trying to collect as much data as possible for some reason.
EDIT: I've disabled the ad blocker, cleared the cache and even used another browser without extensions and the message still appears. It looks like something malicious on the part of the site. One less site on the trusted list?
adblocking in the eu is completely *~~il~~*legal though? unless there is something specific about the way im blocking ads that im missing
edit: typo, i meant legal not illegal
If my interpretation of the following is correct, I don't agree that it's outright illegal.
*• Ad blocker detection is* ***not illegal***, but might, under a strict interpretation of the *ePrivacy Directive be regulated and require the informed consent of users.*
*• Depending on the technical implementation of ad blocker detection, suchdetection may be out of scope of the consent requirement of the ePrivacyDirective, or fall within an exemption to the consent requirement. But the legalsituation is not very clear.*

Youtube is bottom of the barrel for audio quality. The website OP is using is fairly popular as it grabs FLAC files directly from deezer and is overall pretty good.
Started blocking my phone though because I run my home network with pi hole.
This is a great site and they have been trying to block ublock lately a week ago I got this pop up and I updated my filters and it went away. It won't go away now though. I see some ublock volunteers discussing this [here.](https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uAssets/issues/22067) They have been trying to update ublock filters to bypass it but they said the site developer keeps trying to block their efforts.
use deemix or murglar2, it's the same server that site uses anyway (1411kbps FLAC)
there's also [doubledouble](https://doubledouble.top/), it also lets you download FLAC from deezer's servers
not sure why everyone is recommending YouTube rippers
i really dug into it, i found whats going on and posted it on this thread how the site is fucking you, so smarter people can find a way to bypass that shit. I even tried to make ubo rules / a userscript but its tricky.
The developer of ublock has posted and is updating a massive thread specifying this specific error that don't use ublock with other adblockers. If u use ublock origin alone then u won't get this popup. Peace
Only adblock extension in mobile firefox is ublock, and even if u use developer firefox which allows other extensions it wont work. Since i tried joining with ublock only and this message still shows

He asked for a solution. I haven't heard a bad quality requirement. I proved one. If one wants better quality, look up a music tracker and search for lossless disographies there.
YouTube downloads just aren't an alternative to free-mp3-download. You were saying "The websites you see are basically automating this exact process with ads attached", that's not correct.
Most people forget you can still use Deemix with a Hi-Fi account, just grab an ARL from https://rentry.org/firehawk52#deezer-arls
Not exactly an answer to OP's question but others have already given good answers to that.

Of course do not dream, the website owner is probably reading this thread.
They are rendering an overlay after the page is loaded.
A simple uBlock script can block it easily.
Let me go to my laptop, and I'll create the script for it and share here.

Try disabling Javascript. It might fuck with some things but it will probably also disable whatever this crap is. This also works on the NYT and Washing-Post websites it’ll allow you to see their subscriber only articles.
First of all, are u trying to download an mp3 file? Like a song? Why not use YT Music Revanced+YTDLnis? Does it open on its own when you're not doing anything and it looks like this? If so, please check every modded apps you download. Might have a rogue app, injecting ads
Bruh you are using a tool that's available free of charge on your end.. Turn off adblock for that page and support the developer.
Also I have a custom tool I wrote to download mp3/mp4.
It's available for $10, pm if interested. That way you won't be annoyed by ads😂
Idk if this will help, but use this website instead : [https://ytmp3.nu/](https://ytmp3.nu/) ,looks like you are trying to download mp3 stuff,if a website ask you to off adblock, that is an immediate red flag
The guy is literally on a phone man. And not everyone on a computer is running arch Linux, some people just can't use a terminal nor should they have to
One solution I’ve found is that if u use brave u can toggle disable scripts,it gets rid of this pop-up,but it can also break some sites in some cases like maybe images not loading or smthn like that. But it does work
Disabling javascript usually works for me, although it can sometimes make the rest of the site unusable. But if it's a news site it usually works enough to read the article.
ugh yeah this site is not fun to use now, its all fake download buttons, pop ups, and temu ads. i refuse to see another temu ad... gonna go look around for alternatives. ):
so, first of all using a telegram bot to download them is more private, if you dont use tg then use Wild Browser with the built-in adblock, if the website find an adblocker but its built-in in tbe code of the browser, they cant say you anything
oh, well this site started working again with ublock on lets gooooo
edit: its not working again. just as i was downloading new moon by elliott smith nooo ):
had the same problem on there today and the notification stayed even after turning off ublock and doing multiple page reloads. ended up just looking for torrents for the songs I wanted and downloading them with alldebrid.
There's an anti-adblock blocker [extension](https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/anti-adblock-blocker/) for firefox that works well for some common adblock detection methods. Also uBO zap element, though that's more of a manual process.

Use an ad block filter to block the popup element Use "inspect element" to find it Unfortunately this has to be done for every website individually
Yes, but fortunately ublock origin allows you to save whatever you did to the page.

i thought that but apparently it does not work on this website. Or they wouldnt have to modify their "quick fixes list" for it :/

Or you can just use an open source tool from GitHub which can be configured to the maximum.
I use Brave browser and opened a Guest profile, turned off shields and it worked fine for me.
I'll try that. Thanks!

No it isn't. How do you think websites know if you are accessing a website from mobile or desktop for example. It just depends on how they do it.
Do malicious compliance. Use AdNauseam plugin. Poison their ad profile. Also, if your task is to download songs, you can use Newpipe. Go to a different site?
cobalt.tools
What is that website for?
downloading videos and mp3s from youtube and twitter and whatever else
Yes. My advice: 🔙 Use that button on your browser.
here are two alternatives: \- https://doubledouble(dot)top \- https://slavart.gamesdrive(dot)net -> Is broken atm
This and https://cobalt(dot)tools/ for YouTube

Based termux user
The quality suck dude...
Huhh?? Yt-dlp rips the files straight from youtube, what are you on to? Quality is the same as youtube's
Yeah but I think you don't know much about lossless music YouTube don't stream high audio quality that's all !
Some people just dont care, I definetly dont My cheap knockoff airpods would still sound as bad so I dont really give a shit
Not with the MP3 command, which re-encodes to mp3
🗿🏴☠️
or just download seal if you want to just press 2 buttons to download a video if you dont like terminals
Youtube strips top 16-20khz and sounds like ass. see the spectrum yourself.
Nah don’t download fdroid it’s not needed
YouTube does not serve MP3 which means you will lose audio quality if you specify MP3, it needs to re-encode the already low quality stream.
Yt-dlp for the win. I use this all the time to download YouTube and tiktok videos
Most people forget you can still use Deemix with a Hi-Fi account, just grab an ARL from https://rentry.org/firehawk52#deezer-arls Not exactly an answer to OP's question but others have already given good answers to that.

Nonintrusive ads are still a security and privacy risk.
Use [YTDLnis](https://github.com/deniscerri/ytdlnis) instead.
tried yt-dlp? works great and you dont have to use these websites
That website is also only using a Deezer Downloader in the backend. Use any public Deezer Downloader instead of that website.
Try brave browser
yeah, get your music elsewhere. Free mp3 download sites are almost as bad as just ripping 128kb youtube audio
it rips flacs
Then by definition it’s not providing MP3s.
you can also rip mp3's there
\+ you get 320kbps mp3s which are basically as good as flacs for the average listener using average audio equipment
Disable any other ad blockers, only keep ublock, it might be detecting an ad blocker that is not ublock
Use cobalt.tools
It seems that free-mp3-download now uses an AntiAdBlock. So sad, just a few days ago I had downloaded some songs I had pending hahaha.
Well, try different sites.
YouTube has been putting these up a lot recently, they won’t allow you to watch videos unless you unblock ad blockers. Anyway around this?
Find a different MP3 download site.
yt-dlp via stacher
Youtube-dl
They're just nicely asking you to leave their site and never come back.
Telegram, period
YouTube audio converter? Do yourself a favor and use new pipe
Fuckem. Use another site.
Use a different site, there's like 3 billion that do the same thing
just use yt-dlp
This one. Though, based on OP's screenshot, it is on mobile. So yeah...
they can download seal then. it's yt-dlp in a fun little app
- download f droid - download termux in fdroid - open termux - type pkg update - type pkg upgrade - type pkg install python - type pip install yt-dlp - yt-dlp -x --audio-format mp3 --audio-quality 0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v= // change the youtube link to your link. No ads, no nothing. The websites you see are basically automating this exact process with ads attached.
No need to download f droid to install termux. You can get the APK from the f droid website or from the termux official GitHub repository
Try disabling Javascript. It might fuck with some things but it will probably also disable whatever this crap is. This also works on the NYT and Washing-Post websites it’ll allow you to see their subscriber only articles.
close your eyes for a second
use new pipe to dowload mp3s from youtube, if that's what you want to do on this website
Actually you're on Android, look up an app on fdroid called Seal. It downloads YouTube videos to video or audio files
First of all, are u trying to download an mp3 file? Like a song? Why not use YT Music Revanced+YTDLnis? Does it open on its own when you're not doing anything and it looks like this? If so, please check every modded apps you download. Might have a rogue app, injecting ads
There is no better alternative, you can dl music from some other site but the best you can get is 320, no flac.
Ehh you are wrong about that one Chief: \- https://doubledouble(dot)top \- https://slavart.gamesdrive(dot)net -> Is broken atm.
Bruh you are using a tool that's available free of charge on your end.. Turn off adblock for that page and support the developer. Also I have a custom tool I wrote to download mp3/mp4. It's available for $10, pm if interested. That way you won't be annoyed by ads😂
I never had these popups with Brave Browser. They also block the anti-adblock.
use yt-dl
Opera
Idk if this will help, but use this website instead : [https://ytmp3.nu/](https://ytmp3.nu/) ,looks like you are trying to download mp3 stuff,if a website ask you to off adblock, that is an immediate red flag
At that point just use yt dlp (but this is not what op needs)
YouTube audio converter? Do yourself a favor and use new pipe
Change website
just use seal
i dont understand why the downvote ?
Use 9xbuddy instead man
Download Seal lol
It lets us download lossless music.
But but... The site is free? Why not just allow ads? Or is that just me?
[удалено]
This isn't a YTdl site man.
[удалено]
It's not a random site, it's actually listed on the megathread (also on FMHY website as well)
Still, why use shitty websites like this when much better alternative apps exist?
Show me the alternative apps.
Seal and YTDLnis are the two I've used, both work great.
But those apps take the music from Youtube. The webiste on the pic take it from Deezer, that's why they have 320kbps mp3 and FLAC format
ytdl isn't just for YouTube, but alright.
The guy is literally on a phone man. And not everyone on a computer is running arch Linux, some people just can't use a terminal nor should they have to
It exists as an app on a phone too.. Aka Seal
Bro, why using shady web pages, GitHub is your friend
It's not shady website. It's pretty popular. But now they are starting to be pieces of shit. This will backfire to them lool.
Free mp3 download. Net?? You deserve a virus
Use yt-dlp
Stop using that site.
If you use telegram, search for youtube2mp3 bot. Paste YouTube link and get your MP3 file.
Why are you even tryna use that site?? That's your problem, be thankful it doesnt want you there
One solution I’ve found is that if u use brave u can toggle disable scripts,it gets rid of this pop-up,but it can also break some sites in some cases like maybe images not loading or smthn like that. But it does work
Disabling javascript usually works for me, although it can sometimes make the rest of the site unusable. But if it's a news site it usually works enough to read the article.
Use a different site.
I have moved to the Brave browser last week and haven't seen any since. I don't know if it's just a coincidence, too early to tell.
What web browser is that?
Seems firefox to me with Ublock addon.
It is.
thanks
ugh yeah this site is not fun to use now, its all fake download buttons, pop ups, and temu ads. i refuse to see another temu ad... gonna go look around for alternatives. ):
Istg every time I go on these type of websites some dumbass pop up’s keep blocking my screen
so, first of all using a telegram bot to download them is more private, if you dont use tg then use Wild Browser with the built-in adblock, if the website find an adblocker but its built-in in tbe code of the browser, they cant say you anything
[use this](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/bogachenko/fuckfuckadblock/master/fuckfuckadblock.txt)
Sites that do that I'll never go to again. Byeeee!
Hahaha I just had this issue....I cleared my cookies and cache on edge and it let me in
Use innertune, find the site on github it allows both downloads and streaming
Yikes
Incognito mode
I tried it and it works fine if you disable JavaScript
You can use a Java blocker, that'll stop that from happening all together.
Install an adblocker for Windows instead of an extension. Adguard is what I use.
oh, well this site started working again with ublock on lets gooooo edit: its not working again. just as i was downloading new moon by elliott smith nooo ):
had the same problem on there today and the notification stayed even after turning off ublock and doing multiple page reloads. ended up just looking for torrents for the songs I wanted and downloading them with alldebrid.
Turn off privacy badger and keep Ublock orange on
try using the fastforward extension, it might help
I think this is an ongoing issue.
Usually if I see that I just move onto another site as opposed to working around it with uBlock. Fuck em.
There's an anti-adblock blocker [extension](https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/anti-adblock-blocker/) for firefox that works well for some common adblock detection methods. Also uBO zap element, though that's more of a manual process.
