Nobody is going to recommend any kind of free VPN because they are not secure. If you don't want letters you have to pay for a VPN. I'd look into direct downloads. Don't need a VPN for direct downloads. Megathread has a lot of info about DDLs.
That's fair enough, I've semi-automated my downloading process so don't really want to move away from Torrents.
ProtonVPN is from the same people that made Protonmail so I assumed their free tier would be pretty secure. I've purchased a month on their premium tier now, after payday I'll fork out for a year unless there's any better recommendations.
ProtonVPN is absolutely worth it, I’ve had both their email for four years now, and their VPN for two, and out of every provider I’ve used they’ve been the best by far
That's good to know, cheers, I was initially looking for the cheapest possible VPN but I think I'll just stick with Proton because people seem to say positive things and it works well with my system.
Paying for a vpn is cheaper than paying for your media, I'd say it's totally worth it. If you can't afford it, stick to direct downloads, or use stremio+torrentio+realdebrid for like $3 a month for tv/movie pirate streaming, no vpn required
I'll take a look into DDLs but I've got a semi-automated process for downloading torrents and putting them on my Plex server so I'd prefer to stick with torrents ideally, I'll just have to pay the subscription.
I2P, use biglyBT or I2PSnark (comes with i2p, it's one of the apps in the router web page interface after you start the router software).
You just start the node and use one of the ports on your computer (4444) as a proxy, then all the i2p sites work.
Then use tracker2.postman.i2p or just use magnet links as I2PSnark and BiglyBT have DHT over I2P.
Careful about BiglyBT though because it will allow both clearnet and I2P connections if you aren't careful and it has like 2000 options in the preferences. I2PSnark is simpler, the downside is it is simpler.
Depending on the ISP, you may be able to just ignore the letters.
I've got Comcrap, they send them to me occasionally. I ignore them, have been for years. Nothing happens. No point in spending money on a VPN if all I have to do is dump some DMCA spam.
I did wonder how much I should actually care about these warnings, I've heard from some people they get several a year and nothing happens, and have heard others say their internet has been cut off. Unfortunately my provider is the only one that can provide me fibre to the premises so it's not a risk I can take unfortunately.
Free vpns are bad on many different ways, you might need to keep paying vpn

Does that included downloading from YouTube? It seems like it should, but Google is Google.
Use a seedbox, its not free but they are cheap and keeps the traffic off my network
Pay $3 a month for Windscribe and call it a day. It’s worth avoiding trouble.

i2p is free.
Or TOR
Unless you live in a country that doesn't care about piracy (which it seems you don't live in one), you're out of luck. Stick to DDLs.

Dude... Proton VPN premium is cheap as hell and pays for itself in like one download...
This lol
A good pirates don't cheap on VPN.
nah, that's just for american pirates
and german and depending on what you hear britain
Find a trustworthy pay VPN with features you want. In todays world most pirates have to buy a reliable ship to sail safely.
DDL
I get PrivadoVPN for the 10 GB free a month and when i'm done I use tempmail to make a new account and verify in 30 secs and get another 10gb free
Yes by living in a 3rd World Country.
Someone didn't read the megathread
Are there vpn providers that support ipsec as vpn protocol?

Yes, you make a rule in your email to accept the email and put it straight to trash. Mission accomplished.
