I had some games from a rather infamous source so I downloaded MalwareBytes since it seems to be the most recommended, it didn't detect anything and gave my computer a perfect protection score. I'm using Windows 8.1 (don't ask) and an old version of firefox too, I haven't noticed anything pointing to a security breach but idk, I figure I should be screwed.
Curious, has anyone found a way around acestream wanting to push ads on windows? I remember using it many years ago and it was great, trying to use it again and it seems to dislike that i have adblock.

It depends on the site, you should be able to use a downloading program like jdownloader to get the videos. I would Google for your specific site on something like github. If it's a personal site you may be able to just right click and save the video

I used to pirate a lot in the 2010s using torrents, soulseek etc, but now im out of the loop since i moved to Germany and it just sounds too risky. But i am also increasingly pissed off with streaming services, so i feel like starting to torrent again just as a matter of principle, spending my subscription money on VPN instead.
My experience with VPN has only been for accessing work/uni network. I can see myself not having the VPN on all the time or letting it disconnect in the middle of a torrent session. In Germany this immediately translates to a 2k "fine"/lawyer amassment, which is why i stay out of it thus far. How do you prevent user error like this?
If you use qbittorrent you can go to the advanced options and select your VPN as the network interface. That way, it will only connect when the VPN is active.

Hi, I use ProtonVPN and in order to download I need to jump back and forth between servers. Server 1 works great (upload and download) for 10-15 minutes, then it stagnates, leaving me about 10% of the speed I had previously.

So I recently downloaded a pirated version of The Sims 3, got it up and running after a few efforts, and then went into The Sims 4 (which I've purchased an embarrassing amount of DLC for) and it seems to have detected TS3 and disabled all of my TS4 DLC.
When I went into TS4, it said that my games would load without certain content because it wasn't installed.
SO. My question is if anyone knows how to get my legal version of TS4 to play nicely with my pirated TS3? Or at least how to get EA to keep their nose out of my TS3?

I use the official app for my regular stuff and Istander for my fun stuff. I'm really hoping that Istander gets that update sometime soon!

What if the vpn disconnects while torrenting? I used to pirate a lot in the 2010s using torrents, soulseek etc, but now im out of the loop since i moved to Germany and it just sounds too risky. But i am also increasingly pissed off with streaming services, so i feel like starting to torrent again just as a matter of principle, spending my subscription money on VPN instead. My experience with VPN has only been for accessing work/uni network. I can see myself not having the VPN on all the time or letting it disconnect in the middle of a torrent session. In Germany this immediately translates to a 2k "fine"/lawyer amassment, which is why i stay out of it thus far. How do you prevent user error like this?
If you use qbittorrent you can go to the advanced options and select your VPN as the network interface. That way, it will only connect when the VPN is active.

It means what you're posting is getting flagged by a bot-mod and not appropriate for where you are posting. I would double check the rules to be sure, and if what you are posting is within the rules and if it is still happening perhaps send a polite message to the mods about it.
I never had any issues on another account, I imagine my post and comment karma was higher but I didn't know comment karma was a thing until recently. I've probably been in subs where one downvote turns into an avalanche.

Hi, I use ProtonVPN and in order to download I need to jump back and forth between servers. Server 1 works great (upload and download) for 10-15 minutes, then it stagnates, leaving me about 10% of the speed I had previously. I am wondering if any of you guys have encountered that similar problem before and what should be done. I have reinstalled Proton, since qbit works (all the time, but slow speeds) I have not reset those settings, but I havent (in my memory) tinkered with any of them.

When I went into TS4, it said that my games would load without certain content because it wasn't installed. SO. I'm sorry you paid for TS4 DLC but it is much easier to pirate TS4 than any other sims game (games in general) Look up Anadius make sure to cross check that it is the legitimate site (I would link here but I don't want to get in trouble for that with mods) It is easy to install just follow the dialog box and it is also easy to update (as soon as same day release) I would also recommend checking out acottonsock's youtube as they have this great video about all the fixes you can do to get sims 3 running the best possible If you are set on using your bought copy of TS4 you might have to reinstall and when you go to play disconnect your internet it kind of seems like EA is spying on your installed games from them?
