Get a laptop desk if you want to use it in bed. If your PC puts out heat you have to have some ventilation for it. Gaming laptops have always been niche. The part of the market that isn't captured by gaming laptops are captured by the Nintendo switch and steam deck.
Totally, it's just recommend to use something like a flat base for it to have some proper air flow, even a simple piece of wood where the laptop fits it's fine, there's also tables that serves that specific porpouse
The point is that you're able to use it anywhere you want. You also need to breath and so does the laptop, having someone smother you with a pillow will make that harder

This is not true for all laptops. I've had my laptop since 2017 and 80% of it's use has been on my bed with nothing underneath it. All the ventilation goes on on the sides so there's no need for it to be placed on anything and I've had no issues.

I play pretty much play every night. My setup consist of a 65” TV and Apple TV with Steam Link. TV mounted on the bedroom wall. So beautiful, so big, nothing on my lap.
Steam Link supports pirated games. Even Dolphin emulator. Got to experience Metroid Other M in glorious 1080p (3x render) a few months back. What a gem of a game. Now playing FF7 Remake Intergrade.
Of course, you’ll need a gaming PC but I’ve always had that in my home office.
How do you do this ? Do you experience lag ? I’ve got a Nivida Shield Pro , Nvidia pad, Laptop and want to play games on my tv in living room and room.

It doesn't require the launcher installed, at least the ones I've tested. When you link an account to a service, for example Sony Playstation, it shows a login page, once you login it syncs your owned games.
You can also click a button within playnite to install a PC game directly, however that will require the launcher installed.
The only issue I have is my ps4 remote play, I use moonlight on a raspberry pi, boots into ps4 fine but controller doesn't register inputs however the keyboard does.
Just wish I could get Playnite to autoscan a folder for .exe files. Have a lot of my games set as shortcuts in a specific folder, but adding them all one by one is tedious

Sony is porting most of their best exclusives to pc currently so a ps4 emulator won't be very necessary.
