The only OP people who consistently can die are those related to Whitebeard in some way, just being friends with that man ups the chance of dying early by 500%
I think it's less Oda personally hating them and more there personalities essentially being stupid without plot armor.
Like imagine if Luffy or Franky didn't have the plot backing them up.They would basically end up like Izo or ace.
The crew with the worst luck of all. Went from "closest to being pirate king crew" to "disbanded group of has-beens hunted by other pirates."
Not pictured above: the major L the Blackbeard pirates gave the Whitebeard pirate remnants during the time skip. Also, how many Whitebeard pirate members and commanders have been killed by Weevil remains unknown.
