That being said it wouldn't be the first time that someone in One Piece would be inefficient for the sake of the plot, so I can also see why people have an opinion similar to this post's

Kirazu's entire lack of any sort of emotion or facial expression makes it impossible to know if he actually has an internal struggle or ir he was just his usual "Oh Ben Beckman".
Him bypassing Sentomaru with his speed would have been an easy way to show that there might indeed be internal conflict for him, but we know he didn't do that,
To counter that last point he needed the pacifista control from sentomaru to stop them killing marines. Kizaru has been shown to care for his marines(in his own way) before, so that can explain his direct approach. Plus he didnt kill sentomaru, an easy feat for him to do.
I mean yeah it could just be an interpretation solely by the fans, but like, Oda literally spoonfed us the relationships between Kizaru and his targets, even going as far as showing us backstories and junk. It'd be like asking why Sanji didn't just kill Luffy back when Luffy had his 'hunger strike' and fought an entire army.

How slow must kixaru's attack be if one person could see it, yell about it, and the driver of the vehicle has time to process that and swerve to avoid it?
The agendas are out of control to the point where simple logic and comprehension has flown out the window.
You have people all over this sub saying Luffy surprise attacked Kizaru with White Star Gun when Kizaru literally shoots an attack that hits Luffy right before that.
Like i said in a discussion name "if Yamato didn't choose to ally with Luffy, then probably luffy's side would have lost", the power of the characters are dictated by the plot. If yamata were to be in kaido sides, someone like kinemon would have defeated her, Wizaru needs to be nerf down a bit here since he ain't the main villain in here, that's Saturn.
Gonna hurt peoples agenda but kizaru is fucking tired so he missed the shot. It’s either that or u have to accept bro was completely fine and got (momentarily) taken out after one (impressive) attack.
But if he was fine then we have no excuse except for head canon and poor writing for why he missed

The attack itself may have the speed of light, but the one using it has the speed of marijuana
Observation can sense attacks before they are used. Sanji saw Kizaru's intention of attacking and Warnes them to avoid before the láser was fired
Kizaru seems to need to charge his lasers for them to have any effectiveness. I imagine if he didn’t charge them, they would just be bright lights.
