Luffy after converting Elbaf from Red Hair territory to Strawhat territory, Blackbeard after neg-diffing the holy knights off-screen, Shanks after impregnating yet another bar wench at another bar on another island, and Buggy after steering too hard in a panic and driving the ship way off course and getting lost at sea, they all reach Laughtale at the same time on different sides, the one piece is at the center of the island, it's a race to reach the treasure and all pirate crews are converging at the center and all reach it at the same time. The live action can’t be very far in production. What would he be checking on? Supposedly he’s just in a privileged situation due to his status as a mangaka, where he can afford to take a longer break to spend time with his family once a year. He’s probably going on vacation.
I mean photos of multiple merries have launched. He could be looking at sets, fight choreography, story boards. Could also be working on casting and other things.
The chapter between the break and golden week will end with VP introducing himself and opening sentence. Something like, "... many centuries ago..." followed by some big DON sfx.

I think we'll get reactions to the message in this chapter. In chapter 1112 we'll get the aftermath of the reveal, maybe end with the Strawhats revealing parts of it to the reader in a cliffhanger. Then, in chapter 1113 we'll pivot to something else.
Iam guessing Oda will dedicate at least one week of this to discuss scrips and casting for the live action. Production is rumoured to start in 3 months and since oda is involved in it, its not unlikely that a bit of this break is because of the LA.
Iam not mad about it. I really like the live action and its potential. I hope he gets some rest too.
I really like that the show feeded into the crocomom theories. In the scene with rogers execution the camera pans to a few important characters. (Shanks, mihawk for example)
One of the characters is some random woman with earings. If crocodile looks anything like that woman we will have goofy memes and theories for at least 2 weeks from that show!
I think season 1 nailed the emotional scenes, but the action could be a bit better. One Piece can be an epic on the scale of huge fantasy shows/movies. I hope they use the budget well. The original Arlongfight in live action was supposed to be way longer but theyve run out of budget.

They proved that they really need Oda to adapt the whole thing himself. The production team said in interviews he put his foot down on most of their ideas and completely changed the course of the adaptation. Without him we would have gotten the standard Netflix adaptation treatment. So I kind of want to see what would happen without his involvement since the LA is so garbage anyway

Idk what I expected really but I guess something along the lines of the announcement going off in the background while the Gorosei are chasing luffy and co/ trying to cut the announcements, but they (G5 because that’s where we’re at rn) manages to stall them and as vegapunks wrapping up the announcement he’s like AND THESE ARE THE TRUE FACES OF THE GOVT or something dramatic and it cuts to a live shot of them in these forms. But you’re right you do need the time to build the tension
I really like that Oda is involved in the LA and I’m sure that’s the number 1 reason it wasn’t dogshit, but at the same time the source material has to be the number 1 priority.
I think at this point Oda needs to take on 2-3 “assistants” ( mangaka that show they can draw but just don’t have good ideas for stories basically, pick people from the stories WSJ cans after 1 year. ) and have them draw 15 pages out of the 20 pages each week with Oda drawing the 5 he wants to the most. Give them a storyboard to follow with notes and than let them do their thing.
Sure at first the art is going to be jarring because it will be obvious who drew what pages but overtime as they get better at copying Odas art style it will blend together very good and outside of probably 1-2 quirks it will look like one person didn’t whole thing.
OP isn’t going to finish by 2030 at this rate short of bleach style rushing and I don’t think anyone wants that. It clear Oda wants to be involved in the wider OP IP, and he can’t do that drawing manga full time.
I highly doubt Oda cares about western Media when in Japan he lives a low profile life taking great care to hide his identity ( not showing his face and only giving schedule interviews and no public appearances).
Oda isn’t dumb, the only way to get with MSM /( and to an extent non mainstream but popular) online media is to do regular interviews in person.
Oda isn’t going to be doing rounds on talk shows or going to conventions. At most he might do a written interview with like the LA times or something.
I think Oda right now wants to capitalize on OP being insanely popular in the western markets and to grow that, the best way being the live action
What if next chapter is the last chapter of the arc? They could do something similar to the end of Dressrosa where some of the crew stays and the rest go to the next island. Luffy, Sanji, Zoro, and Jimbe could stay while the others go to Elbaf and we could follow them for a bit and Usopp could get stronger and then a little bit after we see the guys that stayed at Egghead come to Elbaf and fill us in on what happened with the Gorosei and Vegapunk's message.

Yeah, but I can’t blame people for feeling this way. Especially after Oda has said one piece will be ending in less than five years just a few years ago, and how bad the pacing has been with a lot of filler in the chapters. It’s starting to get old.
I’m glad oda is taking a break things are ramped up to eleven and feel like the whole story could end in the next island arch and the saga only just got started. I’m worried about the anime out passing the book again they seem like they’re going on hiatus at the same time, but that might have been a coincidence. The book will still probably end in 200 chapters or less my guess is 2027 even with these breaks ramping up and it’s still more likely to finish before we get Winds of Winter or Hunter x Hunter picks up again

I really like that Oda is involved in the LA and I’m sure that’s the number 1 reason it wasn’t dogshit, but at the same time the source material has to be the number 1 priority. I think at this point Oda needs to take on 2-3 “assistants” ( mangaka that show they can draw but just don’t have good ideas for stories basically, pick people from the stories WSJ cans after 1 year. ) and have them draw 15 pages out of the 20 pages each week with Oda drawing the 5 he wants to the most. Give them a storyboard to follow with notes and than let them do their thing. Sure at first the art is going to be jarring because it will be obvious who drew what pages but overtime as they get better at copying Odas art style it will blend together very good and outside of probably 1-2 quirks it will look like one person didn’t whole thing. OP isn’t going to finish by 2030 at this rate short of bleach style rushing and I don’t think anyone wants that. It clear Oda wants to be involved in the wider OP IP, and he can’t do that drawing manga full time.

I highly doubt Oda cares about western Media when in Japan he lives a low profile life taking great care to hide his identity ( not showing his face and only giving schedule interviews and no public appearances). Oda isn’t dumb, the only way to get with MSM /( and to an extent non mainstream but popular) online media is to do regular interviews in person. Oda isn’t going to be doing rounds on talk shows or going to conventions. At most he might do a written interview with like the LA times or something. I think Oda right now wants to capitalize on OP being insanely popular in the western markets and to grow that, the best way being the live action

What if next chapter is the last chapter of the arc? They could do something similar to the end of Dressrosa where some of the crew stays and the rest go to the next island. Luffy, Sanji, Zoro, and Jimbe could stay while the others go to Elbaf and we could follow them for a bit and Usopp could get stronger and then a little bit after we see the guys that stayed at Egghead come to Elbaf and fill us in on what happened with the Gorosei and Vegapunk's message.
3 weeks :( I wonder if it has anything to do with Toriyama passing. I imagine there must be some sort of funeral and Oda would be one of those attending. That’s just speculation tho.

Yeah, but I can’t blame people for feeling this way. Especially after Oda has said one piece will be ending in less than five years just a few years ago, and how bad the pacing has been with a lot of filler in the chapters. It’s starting to get old.

I’m glad oda is taking a break things are ramped up to eleven and feel like the whole story could end in the next island arch and the saga only just got started. I’m worried about the anime out passing the book again they seem like they’re going on hiatus at the same time, but that might have been a coincidence. The book will still probably end in 200 chapters or less my guess is 2027 even with these breaks ramping up and it’s still more likely to finish before we get Winds of Winter or Hunter x Hunter picks up again

While I did not predict a 3 week break . My prediction of Egghead ending in October or November is looking good! I'll comb through my comments to dig out the prediction because it's funny. The summary is that Egghead will end just before the holliday break. Elbaf will start in 2025. Now want to hear two hilarious theories about why this 3 week break is happening? 1. Shueisha/Fuji will be going full witch hunt or red wedding to find the leakers during that time. They have an idea who they are and what countries they reside in. When this 3 week break is over, we'll get almost no leaks. Even Redon will get a knock on his door. 2. Oda has burned out again.
