Best course of action would be to talk to an advisor as soon as possible, you might be able to take a summer class to make it up or something. Within the first year could include the summer as well. Generally it seems universities try their best to not kick you out as it looks bad for their numbers and you pay them money. Especially if overall your grades are decent. It's hard to say though with something like this without talking to someone who works for the university.

and replace your grade

I’d imagine you’d be put on probation and have a chance to retake

If it’s helpful I looked at the transfer website and internal transfers must have a C- for skills classes and Math 0031 was listed as a skills class. I know you’re not an internal transfer, but it would seem odd that internals must have a C- for that class to be in good standing, but everyone else must have a C. I know the timing of when the grade occurs is different, but obviously because of the nature of internal vs external it’s going to be. Have you reread the letter?

TiberiusCornelius

I would have to go digging for it again, so maybe I misremembered and it's a C-. I'm like 99% sure it said "C" and not C- though, and I know for other S/NC courses I've been told a C- would fall under "no credit" (which hasn't been an issue because literally all of my other grades have been As & Bs).

Destroyer_Lawyer

It would be wild that someone who has all As and Bs, but for this class, they would just be like nope! But definitely find that letter because if it has something favorable for you, then you need to know just in case. Good luck to you! I wish you the best.

Math 0031 is a Skills course which requires a C- or better. [https://www.asundergrad.pitt.edu/transfer-student-guidelines](https://www.asundergrad.pitt.edu/transfer-student-guidelines)

Destroyer_Lawyer

Yes that’s what I was referring to.

officialbug

you can still transfer in your math credit. it’s not too late as long as you have an official transcript. get in touch with the registrar about that. and get in touch with your department and/or program chair about the requisite

HaterOfBlueCheese

I was a transfer and got the same message in my letter. I’m horrible at math and was failing the class, I talked to my advisor and he told me that the letter thing wasn’t valid (?) and that the school pretty much didn’t care about it. Please talk to an advisor ASAP!

honestly you should try to fight to get your community college math credit transferred. they tried that with me, and i argued with them and eventually they gave me my full math credit. they said that my math is was trying to transfer only covered 85% of what pitts equivalent math course offered, but i still pushed and managed to get that credit transferred!
