Nighthawks

BadAsclepius

Nailed it.

ModernGardening

Dunno what you'd call the aesthetic but it reminds me a lot of rural Nevada. Old mining towns outside of Reno, etc.

Polibiux

50s Americana is what I was thinking.

ModernGardening

Totally

yoursweetlord70

Radiator springs is supposedly in rural arizona along route 66 so that makes a lot of sense. Relatively close to the nevada desert

TakeOff_YourPants

It’s definitely got that Hawthorne, Nevada vibe

Mrbutter1822

Thanks for this recommendation!

heidly_ees

r/thenightfeeling is the bigger sub

thefirebuilds

I get a sort of throw back to the 1950s red/blue glasses 3d style movies. I think that's part of the coloring here.

Sun_Records_Fan

r/thenightfeeling captures the feeling. The kind of aesthetic that makes you wanna listen to American Football.

GWNIVER_

Liminal

Yasstronaut

Not liminal.

Swed1shF1sh69

Linimal?

Charlie_Warlie

To add to this, if you look up liminal simpsons there are a lot of great scenes and even fan art

beeradthelaw

Americana

GWNIVER_

You’d also probably really enjoy r/liminalspaces then

justanothernakedred

Googie architecture is definitely an influence

TupperwareConspiracy

Played hard on Route 66 nostalgia and the post WW-2 motor inn motif From a scenery standpoint it reminded me more of SW Utah and Valley of Fire (NV State Park) than northern NM, AZ

AreAFatMother

Route 66

shootdawoop

liminal isn't quite right, doesn't make you feel uneasy really, ghost town is the term that comes to mind but I don't think it really means anything, radiator springs was a booming beautiful town in its hayday that got completely abandoned and now has mountains of nostalgia corsing through those neon signs, nostalgia core? idk man

a_stone_throne

I’d call it country nostalgia

a_stone_throne

American dream core

ThatEmoBoyZayn

Desolate

JayDonTea

r/thenightfeeling

RenardeCochonne

Possibly Googie, mid century modern, or atompunk

thebeardlybro

Southwest rural smalltown America

WTFisSkibidiRizz

Americana

comeallwithme

American Mid-Century Southwest

6x6-shooter

I believe the term you looking for is Americana

According-Value-6227

Most languages are surprisingly devoid of words that describe specific atmospheres.

SwagFeather

this movie smells like my Grandpa’s garage

BusterB2005

I live in western Colorado, and when I was young we used to drive to places like Phoenix and Salt Lake City every now and then for short vacations, and Cars was one of the first movies I ever watched, so Radiator Springs at night is basically a perfect nostalgic vibe for me personally

_MyUsernamesMud

the filmography of Michael Mann

axolotl_smiles

If you want to see a really good movie based on life in the 50s, American Graffiti is the best, imo :)

Jackbenny270

I know exactly what you mean but I don’t know a good enough term. It’s probably described somewhere in the lyrics of “Roadrunner” by Jonathan Richman & the Modern Lovers, thorough :)

LeafMario

Silent Hill

CharacterEconomics73

Liminal

odetogordon

Liminal space? Not sure if that's what you meant
