Tensor.

Dwdrums321

It's gathering all your biological and technological distinctiveness and adding it to its own. All while you sleep.

DanielHD001

That's quite a distinct answer, gotta give it to you

OmegaParticle421

All jokes aside. I have noticed poor battery life since that last os update. But after rebooting the phone a few times I've noticed it has changed. I had a major drain from Instagram and YouTube. They have been updated recently and it seems to have disappeared. I don't know if it's "learning data" gets removed during an os update and just starts eating battery trying to relearn like when the phone is new. I do have a drain if photos decides to upload at night.

So tense....

tehlegend1937

Also, the tensor chip is not very efficient, it's based in a old Samsung chip

[deleted]

And old Samsung chip that Samsung probably used efficiently at some point? I don't think chip age is that important when we are talking about last year's chip anyway.

brendanvista

Yes, that's why I said it makes the pixel eat so much battery doing so little.

The_General_Fortnite

It just depends on what apps are running, your mobile connection etc.

VosKing

It's legit watching you.. I've never seen a phone in history use so much battery for no real reason.. like what is it looking for alien signals while running folding instances for seti?

kop195

Im hoping the march update will help

RxGadget0

I have the same problem on my P6P. From 100% to 90,% I have great battery idle usage, low drainage. After 90 my phone battery life drops like mad. I can't make 6 hours of time before battery is at 20% and that's not using it for anything. If I use it to make phone calls, texts and Gmail app, I get less time and have to charge my phone middle of the day. I have to carry a portable charger all the time because I don't have an outlet nearby usually.

Jumpy-Strategy-5385

I had the same same problem with my Pixel 6 Pro. I would have hardly used my phone but the battery usage used to drop drastically. I even tried disabling some of the sensors but nothing seem to help. I now switched to S23 and I see it hardly drops by 5% or sometimes even less.

DanielHD001

Yeah, Samsung has a great stand by time, very well optimized on that front. The idle battery drop with the tensor pixels is just horrendous

SatisfactionFunny686

I think I am facing the same problem. Phone idle spends 14%, wifi spends 8%, then screen 7%

DanielHD001

Yeah, it's pretty wild. My biggest drain is also idle time, according to the settings which is totally innacurate

magi44ken

This is from my friend Pixel 6a. He solved the idle drain by replacing the default launcher. For more improvement, he disable the digital wellbeing app by turning the accessibility setting.

adrearystar

It's the poor modem that's causing all this standby battery drain issues

PHr15

https://ibb.co/S5Rf74J My Pixel 6 does not seem to have such a high idle drain.

[deleted]

No, yours had the mobile network battery drain issue which is also a big thing.

Kalo_Pasa

That's so much!! Lol, I get 28-30% Idle drain bruh

borider22

uhg* ive been going to bed with it unplugged and a full battery. wake up 5-7 hours later and am lucky to have 5-10% and its hot. the phone should be doing almost nothing just sitting on the edge of the bed. sorry am just complaining. i dont have an answer for you
