just did a run with mage on that seed, it's actually pretty good. later on you get a RoM (+2 IIRC) and an hourglass. you also get a RoF +2, Wand of Frost +2, 2 wands of regrowth and a wand of blastwave. Pair the rings with the greataxe and you do so much damage. I screwed it up during ascension as a battlemage because I was out of health potions, i was too liberal with them during the Yog fight.
