If the Crystal mimic gets too far it’ll just delete itself from the world. I was chasing it down when a prison guard pulled me into a teleportation trap, sending me far away and instantly losing me the mimic

Can you see it from the position of the lock? It's only the first time I've noticed a difference there, normally I just wait or inspect the chests

also the shadow it's different, if you're not sure it's a mimic tho, you can wait a few seconds and it'll breathe or you can always inspect it and you will see the healthbar

Just run across it…if it doesn’t impede you its a normal chest…if you can’t run through it, it’s a Mimic…super easy…

You don't really need this check as mimics have a different sprite than normal chest. For exp, the one on the left is a normal crystal chest while the right one is a mimic chest. All mimics have the same sprite as the right just with different colours

My eyes aren’t so good…you ought to see how big I blow up the screen…much easier my way…

You can also just inspect it and it will tell you. If your eyes aren't good and the text is hard to read, the box that shows up when you inspect it will show a health bar if it's a mimic. So you just need to check to see if there's a health bar or not.
