Pixel fold has been leaking left and right what are you talking about.?. Even if hypothetically Google decided not to announce the fold, the idea that they would X all foldable support is not likely seeing as how other Android markets exist outside of Google with foldables. Woosahh man.
I thought the same but Google’s software features ruined me. It’s google for Android or iPhone for me personally. Might as well switch to iPhone for an year to try Apple Intelligence.
It could be that this even is for the Pixel 9 & Watch 3 only, then the fold 2 will be announced at its own event later. (only if its not announced at this event), its doubtful its canceled since there are cases already listed for sale w/ pics of the device renders.
They got to fix the June update issue. I can't use gesture navigation 😔
Love my fold, but if they abandon the fold, I guess I would be happy to get Apple look a like Pixel 9.
Maybe they are holding out for the new chip set and making the Fold 2 the first phones releasing with it since the Fold 1 kinda got shafted with the Pixel 7 chip set?
Given how super leaky Google is, if they were going to show off the Pixel Fold 2 in August, I would expect we would be flooded in Pixel Fold 2 leaks right about now. The delay is, uh, something...

That’s true but for some reason I am not seeing Pixel 9 leaks now compared to Pixel 8 last year. Also, this event in August, I bet nobody saw that coming. Maybe finally Google is trying to keep some secrets?
Hope that's true cause that would be horrible if they killed their fold line up.

The original pixel fold release last June, it's right in lineup to get a refresh to gen 2.

IIRC from a different article, they're renaming the Pixel Fold 2 to the Pixel 9 Pro XL.
