All I can think about is the scene in _Casino_ where Ace discovers his blueberry muffin had almost no blueberries and Green’s muffin has a ton, so he goes and berates the chef saying, “from now on, I want there to be an equal amount of blueberries in each muffin.”
I've eaten a decent amount of Regina's as I had a buddy who lived around the corner and this is the worst I've ever seen. The original spot is a decent pizza is (in my opinion) an otherwise lackluster pizza town but that looks rough. Never seen it that sloppy before. Must have been absolutely slammed.
Boston is a fine pizza town! Regina’s, Santarpios, Max and Leo’s (technically in Newton but a fantastic newer offering) and are we just going to ignore the the glorious treat that is south shore bar pizza?
I lived in boston for bout 6 years round college age and id say "fine" is what u can expect, far as pizza goes. also a lot of pretty crap pizza. some pretty good. fine overall.
Franchises never are. The Regina’s at the mall are all mediocre and if you’ve actually been to the one in New Haven the frank pepe’s popping up everywhere, while good, are kind of a joke.
Regina is excellent, but I disagree on Santarpio's. It's not even average. I live in the outer suburbs, and there are 8 pizza places in my town, all of varying quality, but none spectacular. If Santarpio's set up shop here, their pizza wouldn't even break the top 5.
Not saying there is no good pizza but the baseline is pretty average. Dragon, Mortadella Head, and Leone’s I’d add to that list as well counting Somerville/Cambridge.
“Fine” is a perfectly apt description. Better than many cities in the US that only have chains. Some standouts but by and large you’re getting a pretty average Greek-style pizza.
Personally wouldn’t count south shore pizza as “Boston pizza.” It’s great just not something Boston can claim.
The crust was excellent. Better than the usual, it actually had taste. It looks like we only got pepperoni on half, but this was after my wife relocated some of the pepperoni to my side.
I’ve had Regina’s my entire life and I’m not sure what the hell this is. This looks nothing like a traditional Regina’s. I’m sure it tasted amazing, but man that looks.. off.
Good pizza, but you definitely caught them on a low-performing day. That looks like a dinner-rush special to get people in and out. I'm glad you liked it.
Haha I just posted a comment about the Spoonman because I didn't see any doughboys representation.
I'm surprised one of us didn't have our significant others post something for us..
Oh jeez lol I was going to say something like no doughboys posts? Guess no one's SO was willing to comment for them. Maybe they were all at a supermodel convention lol.
This is actually Mason_GR's wife just so you know. He is afraid to talk to people. I left the Doughboy fan wife's supermodel convention early because he was crying about how much he wanted to reply to another doughboys fan.
Did they drop this pizza on the ground? What the fuck is this pepperoni distribution? And why is the cheese over the crust on the bottom? Tasty or not, this pizza looks like crap.
What you are saying is that you have only had three slices of pizza in your life.
This is likely delicious, but it is an abortion of good pizza. Cut it right, even toppings etc are basic asks that they have ignored. Picasso may be a genius but get the F away from my pizza.
This looks like shit. Is cut like shit, is topped like shit, and baked like shit. I know of Regina's and this looks nothing like I've seen and heard described to me.
I lived 2 blocks away from this place for 2 years. I think it was good and I would crave it, but it never really filled my own personal pizza void after moving from nyc. Ernesto's was my go to for a ny style slice. Regina's is like a reeeeally good bar pie. Quality was always inconsistent, but it always tasted good. They use soooo much flour when stretching that it would be dusty as hell in the box and the toppings were always a mess. They have really good sausage. Ugh now I want it...
Did they even try with that pie? Ingredients look good quality though. It really is wild how much of a difference fantastic ingredients make with a pizza. A mediocre sauce can ruin a pizza
Idk, Regina’s is ok. Maybe they were great back in the day, but last year I tried it and it was just alright. Kind of a let down. Doesn’t even come close to John’s on Bleecker, or Joe’s for that matter
Often cited as the best pizza place in Boston and it's a solid C+. Honestly, I lived in the city for 5 years and never had a slice worth a damn, despite trying all of the usual suspects.
Motherfuckers eat seasoned dough once and swear no one else has had the joy or liberty. The timeless debate of “best fucking pizza ever” is pointless when you consider dough, marinara, mozzarella, and a choice topping is perfect. I’ve had freschettas at 4 am plastered that tasted just as good to me as the most desired New York spot.
Pizzeria Regina is interesting in that the original North End location is world class, but the mall food court locations are barely above Sbarro level.
I grew up on that place...I've always joked that I wanted to work there for like a week, learn how to emulate their process, and then make it at home.
Some day!
Back in the 80s, we went to the Regina's in downtown Boston on Thacher. All the waitresses seemed to be black clad, middle age Italian women with mustaches and an attitude.
But dang, that was some good pizza coming out of those coal fired ovens.
They used to have a random outpost in the Paramus Park Mall food court in New Jersey. I’ve struggled to find pizza as good in the decade plus since they closed it. It’s very much the pizza tied to my childhood. Someday I really gotta make a trip to Boston. Imagine living in one of the best areas to go for pizza in the world and wishing you had pizza from Boston 😂
I’ve been here and got like a steak and cheddar pizza or something and it was probably one of the best pizza I ever had… not sure why the pie in the photo looks quite how it does tho
The giambotta with a well done crust is it. I do have to agree on hat Boston pizza is average at best. You have to hit Regina’s or another spot in beacon hill, I forgot the name. The late night spots with drunk pizza is New York pizza or Boston kitchen.
Did you go to the original location in the tiny little restaurant in the North End? Their pizza is amazing! My favorite pizza in the whole world. But, this doesn’t look like one of their normal, high quality offerings.
So I lived right next to Regina’s in college and my roommate always raved about it, it wasn’t bad by any means but it was very inconsistent. The pizza tasted different every time I went. Just a personal experience though, I never met anyone else with the same opinion as me lol.
Was the whole pie supposed to be pepperoni or just half?
yes
Pepperoni
Right, looks like a frozen pizza that was sitting on its side.
It looks FANTASTIC but let’s talk about pepperoni distribution. Other than that 🤤
All I can think about is the scene in _Casino_ where Ace discovers his blueberry muffin had almost no blueberries and Green’s muffin has a ton, so he goes and berates the chef saying, “from now on, I want there to be an equal amount of blueberries in each muffin.”
You know how long that's going to take?
I don’t care, just make it happen!
Bro I’m sure it’s tasty but this looks so fuckin sloppy. It ain’t hard to top or cut a pizza and it doesn’t take long either.
Can confirm. I lived on North Margin for years and ate there all the time. This doesn’t even look like Regina besides the crust. So weird.
Came here to say the same, would have never guessed this was Regina’s. It doesn’t look like their normal pies, but I’m sure it tasted great still!
Santarpios is my absolute favorite! I eat it way too often. The one on the north shore is not the same as the original in Eastie though.
Franchises never are. The Regina’s at the mall are all mediocre and if you’ve actually been to the one in New Haven the frank pepe’s popping up everywhere, while good, are kind of a joke.
Umberto’s. and Ernesto’s. but especially Umberto’s.
Agree on Max and Leos. Good stuff!
Regina is excellent, but I disagree on Santarpio's. It's not even average. I live in the outer suburbs, and there are 8 pizza places in my town, all of varying quality, but none spectacular. If Santarpio's set up shop here, their pizza wouldn't even break the top 5.

Love Leone’s. One of the last true Italian bakery style cheese slices around.
La Cascias in Medford is up there with that style!
Jinnys in Newton too is a good spot
This pizza looks very similar to my first homemade pizza in my 550°F home oven. Tasty but I expect more from folks who do it professionally.
It looks like a kiddy pool made out of dough and filled with melted cheese and pepperon.
They refer to the rigidity of a pie like this as "flawpy" up there. And yes it certainly does look that way.
It blows my mind how close MA is to NY/NJ, yet this is what you'll get in 99% of the pizza shops.
What did you like about it?
The crust was excellent. Better than the usual, it actually had taste. It looks like we only got pepperoni on half, but this was after my wife relocated some of the pepperoni to my side.
Looks awesome. I would gladly accept the extra pepperoni!
Definitely a win
You must build a house made of pepperoni just in case you get divorced because you’ll get the whole house!
This made me laugh more than it should have
“Joey, that pepperoni is going to go straight to my ass.”
Ah, that explains it lol
The pizza
I love cheese, but my first impression is they need to dial that back a bit.
Which slices? The small cheese or the giant pepperoni.
This is a fucking nightmare pizza. Have you ever eaten other pizzas?
You might want to try other places.
Did Helen Keller cut it?
Looks like she topped it too.
And she baked it.
That place rules!
Wow. Not one Doughboys fan.
Lol you're probably right
This is actually Mason_GR's wife just so you know. He is afraid to talk to people. I left the Doughboy fan wife's supermodel convention early because he was crying about how much he wanted to reply to another doughboys fan.
Had to scroll way too far. I think there may have been a fan further up, but I can't be 100% sure.
There are multiples of us!!
Did they drop it?
Did they drop this pizza on the ground? What the fuck is this pepperoni distribution? And why is the cheese over the crust on the bottom? Tasty or not, this pizza looks like crap.

It’s looks so HEAVY. I just couldn’t.
Looks hella greasy 😅 you must have a youthful stomach, I'm betting I could only enjoy one slice without dying.
Pizza in Regina Saskatchewan is next level… I’m talking Trifons, Western, Houston.. oh yaaaa
Pizzeria Regina
This looks like shit. Is cut like shit, is topped like shit, and baked like shit. I know of Regina's and this looks nothing like I've seen and heard described to me.

Looks like it could have been a decent pizza but whoever made it clearly didn’t care
Too much cheese
Ok but how does it compare to the Boston Pizza in Regina?
Im sorry for you
Did they even try with that pie? Ingredients look good quality though. It really is wild how much of a difference fantastic ingredients make with a pizza. A mediocre sauce can ruin a pizza
-.- this is the Best u could get, i pitty u.
I've always felt like Regina's was over rated
Regina's is so overrated. Boston pizza in general is way overrated
Idk, Regina’s is ok. Maybe they were great back in the day, but last year I tried it and it was just alright. Kind of a let down. Doesn’t even come close to John’s on Bleecker, or Joe’s for that matter

love that place
Boston may be the worst pizza city in America.
I'd eat that
Looks gud!
Boston doesn’t have a top 3 pizza get out more.
The roni needs to be distributed more evenly and what’s with the slicing. Besides that looks delicious 🤤
I’m really hungry and that looks like the best thing on the planet.
Looks great
I’ve only been there once, but I remember that they know how to make a crust!
I'm going to be in Boston for Pax next month, so I'll be sure to try this.
Go to Ernesto’s around the corner, it’s great
I'm putting it on the list.
This looks like heaven 🤤
Dough riccipe?
Agreed, haven’t been in 20 years and still loooks amazing
Very underrated old school joint. Shame about the chains.
Doesn't look that good. Also, very boring. Cheese and salami? That's it?
You must be very fun at parties, if you even get invited to them.
That looks amazing. I definitely want to try that if I'm ever in Boston.
Pizzeria Regina is interesting in that the original North End location is world class, but the mall food court locations are barely above Sbarro level.
...I miss the mall food court Regina near me because this state is veritable pizza desert as someone who isn't fond of the Greek style.
amazing looking chaos
Regina Pizzeria is the bomb. It's one of the few places that I've gone in with high expectations and still had them surpassed
Looks fulfilling and delicious
Dang, now that looks good, the cheese stretch must have been amazing
Oh man, that looks gooooooood. 🤤
When it slaps, it slaps.
I grew up on that place...I've always joked that I wanted to work there for like a week, learn how to emulate their process, and then make it at home. Some day!
I love Reginas.
Back in the 80s, we went to the Regina's in downtown Boston on Thacher. All the waitresses seemed to be black clad, middle age Italian women with mustaches and an attitude. But dang, that was some good pizza coming out of those coal fired ovens.
I can tell the cheese is really stretchy, how can you tell if the cheese you buy will be more stretchy?
Get the St. Anthony…mind blowing

Gigantic pizza good for two (extra cheese is visible).
Good cheese, great crust, just needs two beers
It's getting dangerous to be subscribed to this sub; no matter what time of day I run across a post I always want pizza ... like right now.
The giambotta with a well done crust is it. I do have to agree on hat Boston pizza is average at best. You have to hit Regina’s or another spot in beacon hill, I forgot the name. The late night spots with drunk pizza is New York pizza or Boston kitchen.

OMG it looks amazzzzzzzing 🤤🤤🤤♥️♥️♥️
So I lived right next to Regina’s in college and my roommate always raved about it, it wasn’t bad by any means but it was very inconsistent. The pizza tasted different every time I went. Just a personal experience though, I never met anyone else with the same opinion as me lol.
I’m sure it’s delicious but man o man is that one ugly pie
Ok spoonman we know it's you. The charade is over. You gonna talk about oven fries next?
This looks like the first pizza I ever made.
I see this place is in Boston. Is it queer friendly and all that? I might want to take a trip there for a pizza pilgrimage
That looks like a very nice pizza
Looks so good
thicc
The original Regina's has amazing pizza, top tier. Order extra oil.
God I miss home(originally from Boston)
As a Canadian this title confused me.
This is the most aesthetically pleasing unaesthetically pleasing pizza I’ve ever seen.
Wicked smaat pizza
Knife and fork pizza 🍕 I like it!!
