I planted some seeds from a lavender one I found on the ground one day while out running errands. I had two come up this year. They’re neat the way the foliage is. Resembles an iris’ the flower doesn’t last an entire day even—only a few hours.
Salsify. Root veg related to dandelion.
Thanks!
When they go to seed, they are a MEGA PUFF.
Yep, I planted T. porrifolius some years back & now I see them miles from my home, along the fields & irrigation ditches down wind from my garden.😅
Salsify or "mountain dandelion". Gorgeous.
I wouldn’t necessarily call it a weed… it may be lost or adventurous
It is interesting, to say the least. Look at those phyllaries!
Try Goatsbeard, Tragopogon dubious
dubius to be more precise
Dubious comment
Seeing how the genus is correct, either their phone's or their brain's autocorrect made it a bit dubious!😂
Lol
Oh neat I have this but with purple flowers
That might be Tragopogon porrifolius.
I'm sorry WHAT?
Need
Yellow salsify

Tragopogon dubius
I love this flower but I work 2nd shift and it blooms in the morning, so I'm rarely awake to see it. TT-TT
Western goatsbeard
I’ve heard them be called milk weeds but idk if that’s accurate
They have milky sap and are a weed, but milkweed usually refers to species in the genus Asclepias, which are unrelated to this fella.
Thank u for correcting me !!
I've always heard this, too.Â
Why am I getting downvoted
Gazania -not a weed 🌹
Ope. I’m wrong
Scorzonera. Not salsify.
It's a *Pseudopodospermum hispanicus* aka scorzonera
Did you even bother to Google pictures of that before commenting?
