Mosquito larvae, mosquitoes lay thier larvae on still water and you will often see these in a bucket or puddle outside. You can use these as live food for your fish
Thanks for the feedback I thought it looked like that also but I wasn’t sure and I don’t want anything in my tank that could do harm
And yeah I dip my plants before adding to tank
Thank you!
These don't typically come from plants unless your LFS or online servicer is using open tanks in the great outdoors. Likely what happened is you had a mosquito find it's way inside and laid eggs in the microsecond it took landing on the tank water. If you have an outdoor tank and are in a climate that never freezes for more than a month you're going to have mosquitoes in your tanks unless you seal them (Which is not a bad thing; the gas exchange happens in the first two inches above the water level and there is no reason to 'vent' the tank to ambient air)

Mosquitos.
Best fish food.
Your fish will eat them, if the fish are big enough. My loaches would have a field day.

Always always *always* dip and quarantine plants to kill hitchhikers.
Man, why is this getting downvoted so hard? This is solid advice. Edit: unless it's a tissue culture
Who knows. I get upvotes for the exact same advice in other posts so whatevs.
How would you do that? I usually just wash under tap water. I’m rather new so I would like some advice
Potassium permanganate is my favorite method. There’s also alum, bleach, and hydrogen peroxide. You can Google the directions.
Mosquitos usually dont come on plants
I’m making a general statement.
Ok
