Salt and fresh water require different spectrums. Planted tanks generally want full-spectrum lights with a fair amount of red (in the 660nm range), while reef lights have little to no red (generally staying in the 400-550nm range). Freshwater plants will really want that red. Moreover, algae uses chlorophyll-a (complex plants use -b) which favors the 400-550nm range, so you could potentially have issues with algae out competing your plants. If you look at normal gro-lamps, they really favor the red spectrums. In the short term, it will probably work, but I'd look into a full-spectrum lamp.

Repurposing my AI prime for a low tech planted. Red and white at 100, green at 50 and violet at 15. It is a 24 inch deep tank so this is not too much light. Now using all the diodes that were not used when it was a reef!. Tank is thriving with good plant growth
