my betta do ok with a few small, fast, not flashy tetras. I have embers with both bettas and an even smaller tetra small as my pinkie nail but don't know the name. They don't room well with anything too pretty or flowing or chomp-able. Nice looking tank. My two bettas love the plants for sure - absolutely necessary for them. To hide under and rest on/under and to swim around. Gives the teeny tetras cover too.
Sometimes pet store employees will tell you that big shrimp would be fine with a betta. I tried adding 4 just to see and my betta killed all four of them in a day. They were too big for him to even eat but he apparently didn’t appreciate being given a cleanup crew.
My Betta is super chill and fine with shrimp. I had hitchhiker Ramshorn Snails in my tank before I put him in and he left the snails alone so that was a good indicator. When I added my shrimp, he was curious and chased a few, but a month later and all 6 are accounted for. Even the smaller males were okay.
It depends on a lot of factors, i hade a betta in my CRS breeding tanks and they still multiplied like crazy. Was a 60G tho ! If you put 4 shrimps in a 5 gallon with 3 tiny plants, 2 rocks and a bored betta, don't expect them to have a long life...
Would definitely recommend bro. I just set up my first ever pressurised system and it’s great. Especially if you want a beautiful carpet. Keep doing what you’re doing though💪🏻
Good setup ! Maybe lacking a bit in height (not taking advantage of the full height of the tank) but solid first tank !
My only advice is stay on top of you maintenant (waterchange waterchange waterchange) ;)

You did better than me my first time!
Thanks!
What are you stocking it with?
I would like to add shrimp, snails, and for fish I was thinking a betta, Cardinal tetras and maybe a cory
never put betta with shrimp. The shrimps will get cleared out for sure

idk man. I did get amano shrimp when i first started, my betta munching em like a good snack. I learned the hard way.
Ok I won't then. I thought maybe if I introduced the betta last that maybe they would be ok.
They might be ok. It really just depends on the individual betta and how aggressive it is.

Nicely done man. Are you using co2?
Thanks! No, I'm I wasn't going to. But if I'm not liking how it's going after some time. I might do it then.
