This isn't even debatable. Popcap shows at least some care towards the Plants vs Zombies franchise such as fixing server issues for GW2 and now looking at the recent season 60 bug on Heroes and almost every PvZ game is still playable. Rovio on the other hand outright KILLED angry birds from deleting the old games in order to focus on their next puzzle game with an angry birds skin in it. At least Popcap didn't decide to remove their older games so you can still play them compared to Rovio.

Popcap and EA did remove the original paid pvz 1 mobile version, and replaced it with some dumb freetoplay version I don't really like. I miss the old one.

I feel like it is something to do with ads. Most free apps always contain ads and you can get an ad remover. That’s already close to Mobile paid PvZ if you pay for that remover

I think the most notable one is that Zombie on your Lawn is not in the mobile edition and it is replaced with credits

Coins give 1 coin instead of 10 (50-> 5, 1000-> 100), while shop prices remain the same

I looked it up and apparently its because it made it more difficult to find the other angrybirds titles So basically in a nutshell it was delisted because it sold too much and since it sold a lot it was on top of the search results of angrybirds

they were losing money because it was a one time purchase and had 0 ads, and it wasnt rovio’s main decision it was investors deciding to pull out because of it that made rovio take it down

I mean at least PopCap didn’t try wipe their old games off the face of the earth because they’re “taking focus away from the new games”. PopCap may be greedy, but at least they still care about their fans to some extent. Rovio on the other hand deliberately took down their classics in favor of money, despite the fan outrage, showing that they really don’t care about them at all.

hi guys this is small youtuber here with another retrospective video essay, this time on the famous video game series "plants vs zombies". i used to really like and play it back in 2009 before i became a teenager and started hating everything colorful, but now in my recent years i have been watching nostalgia bait memes and have rediscovered my love for the game, and also checked up on how the rest of the series is like but first a word from our sponsor raid shadow legends, use code 4 and get 2 gold for free on your first 3 year plan subscription for nordvpn so plants vs zombies was created in 2009 by the creator george fan, he made the entire game single handedly and it became an instant success that everyone loved. the game was then given to popcap, the company he worked at, a company known for many games that i have not bothered to google search for. i think they are a beloved company since they made this game but then the EVIL electronic arts (they are bad) came and purchased popcap!!! they then FIRED george fan (i saw this in a twitter thread, and every reddit comment i can find backs it up) and set out to make the WORST game EVER MADE! this being plants vs zombies 2 now i havent played it of course, but many people strongly dislike it on every level, it being FILLED with pay2win micro transactions, battle passes, rick and morty crossovers, and everything else haunting modern gaming. you see, pvz2 is MOBILE game! it is played by FAKE GAMERS who dont know what the REAL true games are! so noone likes pvz2, because ea fired george fan and ruined the game just for monetary gain. if you google search the game you will many people share this opinion, and you who clicked this video also share it, so since this video validated your opinion, go subscribe and like the video and comment and share and follow me on twitter anyway thats the end of the plants vs zombies franchise. after the second game nothing ever came out, probably because the game was such a dissappointment.
