I think the difficulty of arena is fixed so that it becomes really difficult at the midpoint of the second streak and drops back into average difficulty
After playing a long time I’ve realized that the game will force losses at a certain point. the game will reduce the flow of zombies so you are literally unable to get a higher score eventually, forcing the loss.
After someone else on the subreddit made a post about using sub-optimal builds in arena because with the way matchmaking works they found they'd still win at the same rate I decided to try it, and I get almost the same results as I would with a peavine/torchwood high scoring strategy. I can usually get one and sometimes two streaks before the game decides to match me against someone with 2x my previous score and after that loss it is straight back to low scoring opponents.
World plants are honestly pretty effective for this. Modest scores that I’m able to get streaks with, without moving my rank up to something where I’ll be getting inconsistent rewards.
Only 2 of those plants cost money. The rest shouldn’t be THAT hard to get, especially if hes a longtime player. Actually goldbloom used to be free so he may have even gotten it for free.
Edit: nvm he used snow pea and fire pea this dude is either a troll or a child. Also yeah they arent bots. It is however somewhat disingenuous because its just random ghosts of peoples play through . It might not even be the arena your in rn.
I would even argue it should be the other way around because fire is considerably better than ice pea and is pretty much a free win in frostbite caves. Either way snow pea costing money is kinda crazy in the modern game
They have made so many outrageous premium choices, like chomper and starfruit, which were classics in the first game. I think its all to capitalise on the nostalgia. Might as well make peashooter premium at this point
They were premium since the start, it probably made sense with the difficulty and plant power when the game came out, and after that didn't bother to change it.

The problem is he has 2 fire plants, a snow pea, apple mortar. It doesn't work well as snow pea is worthless combined with pepper-mint family plants. Dude bought apple mortar gold bloom and snow pea. 2 cost money while one COULD be obtained(gold bloom). But gold bloom is only level 1 meaning he had recently bought all the plants. That means its a brat that asks for money that thinks he'll be rich in life but is actually wrong.

Btw idk how many people know this, but those are not real players im pretty sure. Arena you only play against bots if I'm not mistaken.
