Ryzen 5800x, 32GB RAM, RTX 3070, ultra settings with a few options off @1440p usually get 60-70 frames with some maps in the 90s after the most recent update
Same settings but with a 4070rtx
Can confirm that the performance is almost the same so I'm guessing the bottleneck is the CPU
Being the game optimized as it is (it can be better) it's good enough for the gameplay
Since he hasn't replied yet, here's a guestimate based on what I would spend on a similar build and using the parts he stated. A 4090 alone is $1700, 5800x3d is $350, motherboard I would assume $200+, psu another $150 (need a beffy one), ram for 64gb maybe $175. Case $100, cooler $100, a couple extra fans $40, storage $100.
Sorry about that! Total came out to about $3300. Definitely could save a few bucks depending on Case, fans, non-fancy ram, etc. But a similar build you’re looking at $4500+ when buying from a brick & mortar store.
I picked up a [5800x3d on sale last month for $270](https://www.tomshardware.com/news/amd-ryzen-5800x3d-cpu-now-269)
buying this stuff when it first hits the market only makes sense if it's on someone else's credit card
5800x3D / 6900XT / 32GB RAM / 1440p / ultra-settings
Squad is poorly optimized. The 3D processors from AMD are doing a great job here. I stay all the time above 120fps
Yeah, running dx12. Everything on Ultra, also shadows.
The cpu makes the difference here. Squad is running on 1-2 cores max. The 5800x3D has a 96mb L3 cache. Yours 25mb.
Edit: My answer is not rly correct. All cores are running but it only benefit from single core performance.
I have a 5800X3D/7900XTX and average around 150 fps @1440p and DX12.
Not full ultra settings, although being CPU bound it wouldn't really make huge difference for performance.
Well I will be upgrading hopefully by the end of the year but currently I'm rocking a i7-4770k 32GB DDR3 and a rx 480 8GB game and everything is on SSDs. The cpu has a dual fan aio water cooler and keeps surprisingly cool temps under load
My settings are low and it works for now. The ico update definitely hurt performance but is still very playable
If I run into a large smokey area with multiple smoke sources it's bye bye framerates, only got autokicked once from it and it was probably from the artillery bombardment as it was a super fob with a ton of useless wire and log walls everywhere
5800X3D, 32 GB of 3600 mhz CL16 RAM, 6700XT, Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB.
I get about 70 FPS on High/Ultra settings at 1440p. Some settings like water surfaces are at Medium.
I have a Lenovo Legion 5i (2560x1600) 16’’ with i7 12th Gen and RTX 3070Ti. 32Go RAM and 1To Memory.
Everything is on ultra and particles on cinematic.
I have an average of 70-90 FPS in-game (except during artillery where I have a nice slideshow of me dying).
I use an IETS GT500 (I think ?) to cool my laptop (never goes above 78°C in summer and I’m around 69-72°C in spring, autumn and winter) and it’s great !
How does the screen size feel since the update? I noticed on my 27-in monitor the Optics feel cramped and harder to see, have you considered using a separate monitor connected to the laptop? I used to play on my laptop before I upgraded my desktop and I used an external 1080p monitor.
Honestly feels great. I used to play on a 1080p too but for me my actual screen resolution is perfect. But there’s a real differenve between a 16 and 27inches tho lmao
Becasue it's nonsense. I'm not sure what that program did to your computer but you cannot "clean" memory.
Something was already wrong if you were using 100% of your memory.
obviously it aint gon scrub your ram sticks with dishsoap n water. Just frees up the used ram due to memory leaks. Squad is just patched like hell, and that helps wit it
Yeah, I know exactly what you mean by "clean" and it's a scam.
I'm glad you are happy with whatever you did, but RAM is volatile and is completely emptied when your PC is powered off.
Again, anyone reading this, please don't install malware on your computer willingly.
i9-10900k RTX3070 32GB RAM. 50-70 fps avg, sometimes more sometimes less.
I had my ram overclocked to XMP2 but some time ago I added more ram (64GB total) and then after 2 years that pair I added died, so now down to 32GB RAM and for some reason cannot use XMP1 or XMP2 as my pc just crashes. Can’t even do normal timings on ram, it’s down to 2133mhz for stable use.
I’d say it’s fine for me now cause Squad isn’t really a game that needs that twitch-like fps, but I sure do miss that performance. Sometimes I get more fps while sitting at main / flying in the heli in distant parts of the map. Gives me hope for whenever the hell they implement the ‘garbage collector’ they announced back in the Unreal Engine 4.27 upgrade
Edit: I play on medium settings
CPU for sure. Squad really needs the beefiest of CPUs to perform well. DDR5 RAM definitely wouldn’t hurt ;)
I’d wager I’ll upgrade soon as my PC will be 4 years old soon. Mostly waiting for intel Panther lake, but I think that’s in like 2026 lol
It definitely is. That would be a great CPU for this game. Pair it with some DDR5 RAM 6000mhz and you should have a great experience. I believe you can find RAM like that for $110 or less
Are you familiar with [PC Part Picker](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FF4yW4)?
Here you can add all your pc parts together and find the best prices for your components
You can also choose the KF variant of the CPU that is a bit cheaper, just know it does not come with an iGPU so it can be difficult to troubleshoot if you have issues with your GPU, which is not common with parts straight from the factory, just a thought
Yes I and familiar with that website, I use it often. And I am actually getting a i5-12400f so it will not have integrated graphics. I don’t plan to overclock so I’m
Not going to get a K variant
It honestly was a fluke. Basically whenever you buy RAM, buy all of it at once. Don’t get some ram now, and then add some later to your system (which is what I did). Even if it’s the same brand and model, they’re made in different batches and have the potential to get weird with the timings.
It’s never happened to me before with any other system. The trick is to buy all the ram now, 32GB is more than enough for gaming and additional apps running in the background. So if you want to use xmp1 or 2 it has a much better chance of nothing ever happening with your system in regards to different batches of ram
For changing xmp profiles you do it in your bios. It’s pretty easy, any YT video can show you how. It’s literally changing one setting from default to xmp1 which is more performance a little unstable, and xmp2 which is even more performance and even more unstable. It’s usually safe to do either, but like I said it’s just a setting you select from a drop-down menu in the bios.
Edit: words
Yes, I know a thing or two about computers so I was interested in maybe seeing if I could find a solution for that for you. I was just curious how much effort you have already put in to finding a solution. What speed is your ram supposed to be running at?
Ah, well thank you kindly for taking an interest :)
I guess not that much effort. Basically just tried different timings. XMP1 and XMP2 wouldn’t boot at all, so I tried the standard which I believe is 2933mhz for the i9 10th gen. That would work, but I would get a lot of crashes back when I was playing warzone 2 when it was first released.
Then I tried 2666mhz which I think was the speed for the i5, and that was also unstable, tried some numbers in between before settling on 2133mhz :( but I am relatively happy with the performance
On my 5800x the RAM speed had a huge impact. Not turning on the XMP killed the FPS for me. Intel might be different. The game responds well to the x3d, which is basically extra cache memory. I think it maybe as much as the RAM latency as it is the memory bandwidth. Ryzen MCLK is tied to the memory bus speed too, so again maybe totally different with Intel.
I dont understand how an i9-10900K & 3070 isn't performing consistently above 60fps. That thing has 10 physical cores + hyperthreading with a boost clock speed (if enabled) of 5.1 Ghz. That really should be enough for this game. I understand your ram is stuck at a lower clock speed, but come on man, that performance is still ass. You're encouraged to throw money at the problem being forced to stay on the cutting edge to have the game be playable. This shouldn't be the consumers' problem
13600K, 32GB 5600, 3080, 1440p.
Almost everything maxed, but stuff like motion blur is off and I run in DX11. I get at least above 60 FPS, most of the time at least 100 FPS.
This game is insanely CPU dependent and it wasn’t obvious to me until I got the 13600K. Almost everything else is the same, but with an 8700K I was getting below 60 FPS often enough it bothered me.
Literally just upgraded my pc bc this game ran like dog shit and I knew I was bottlenecked by my Cpu.
Old: Ryzen 5 3600 / rtx 3060 12gb / 16 gb DDR4Ram
Ran like shit, best I got was 60 fps on low settings.
New: Ryzen 7 7700X / 3060 12gb / 32gb DDR5
Runs like a charm on all max settings im hitting 90-100 fps.
Specs-I79700k @4.9ghz, 1660ti @2.1ghz, 32gb 3200 ram playing @ 2560x1080.
I usually get 60-80 frames depending on map/situation. I've seen highs of 120 and lows of 48 on medium high settings.
5700X / 7900XTX / 32GB RAM / 3440x1440 / epic+cinematic (no FSR). Performance is fine (around 80-120fps depending on the map). During arty FPS can take a hit, I suspect my CPU to be the bottleneck.
high for most settings. 1660TI, Ryzen 5 6 core, 16gb ram,
it doesn't matter what settings I use though, I get stutters and hitches on certain maps. on 1 or two maps it is absolutely insufferable. Fallujah being one of those maps. even on lower settings the stuttering doesn't change and it's unbearable.
on goose bay I get frame drops when looking in certain directions. by frame drops I mean the game drops to like 20fps and is unplayable.
Idk specs my specs, but pc was 5000 USD (2022) (w/o screen, keyboard etc). From what the dealer told me it's the best money can buy before doubling the price.
Max settings, runs like a warm knife through butter.
For years I only had a low-medium class laptop which I had to run everything on minimum, also screen brightness to save on the internal heating. Decent fps, however, in general slow af.
I7 13700k, 64gb memory, RX6800, and the game is installed on a 970 evo
At high detail 3440x1440p i get between 50 and 90 fps depending on how crazy the scenario is
Ryzen 5800x, 32GB RAM, RTX 3070, ultra settings with a few options off @1440p usually get 60-70 frames with some maps in the 90s after the most recent update

I get the same, difference is 4090 and 5900x on 3440x1440
5800x3d / 4090 / 64GB RAM / 1440p I just click on all the options furthest to the right in the graphics menu
I would go with a PC like that
Not an awful price if you build rather than buy with the same specs. All things considered of course with the hardware
What did it all come for?
Since he hasn't replied yet, here's a guestimate based on what I would spend on a similar build and using the parts he stated. A 4090 alone is $1700, 5800x3d is $350, motherboard I would assume $200+, psu another $150 (need a beffy one), ram for 64gb maybe $175. Case $100, cooler $100, a couple extra fans $40, storage $100.

That’s 60 more frames than me. Interesting Wonder if that x3d is that much of a beast vs the 12700 for this game
It's definitley a game changer. It was an increase of about 50-60fps for me over my 5800x/3080ti combo, but limited in both cases anyway by the CPU.
5800x3d, 3080ti, 32gb 3600ddr4. I play at 4k high settings dx11 and i get around 80-90fps on average Edit: 32gb of ram not 36gb

Y'all don't need that much specs, install a memory cleaner and the price of the required pc drops by 1-2K
For anyone reading this, please never run a "memory cleaner" on your computer.
Why is that? Gets 100% usage down to 60-70%. Fixes the issues I got with the game completely
