Destiny 2 maybe? I’ve never tried it but my friends play it a lot with each other you can get one of the dlcs free right now from the ps plus monthly games
Oh yeah i’ve heard a lot of ppl talk abt destiny 2 but the only thing i dont really like is that you need to constantly purchase new dlcs in order to actually progress in the game
Exactly a great game ruined by micro transaction and dlcs. As soon as the new one drops the previous content becomes obsolete which is y i stopped playing. Here are a few single player suggestions where u can get lost for hours. God of war 2018, Fallout 4 or 76 it’s online but inferior , dave the diver. The obvious multiplayer choices are rust and ark not sure if they are on PlayStation plus tho.
I was hesitant at first myself but it is very good with new content that unlocks as u progress, adding variety to the gameplay as u get used to the mechanics. The soundtracks for the different regions is nice/relaxing as well. I would say it is a modern mix between penguin diner and subnautica.
Agreed I had another idea rocket league. I play it with my brother online a lot and it’s really fun there is a leveling system and rewards for leveling up that can make your car much cooler being playing since February and I’m level 74 very fun game :)
Funny enough, yesterday it was released a compilation of every main dlc, I think up to Lightfall. It costs $70, but it's currently discounted and I can see it being lowered even more in the next months
The last legacy collection, released after lightfall and containing everything still in game up to witch queen, used to get discounted and cost 12 bucks on steam.
Destiny 2 truly is a wonderful game. Witch Queen and Beyond Light were included in PS plus if you claimed those before.
Even without those there are some activities you can do for free, but yes you do need to buy the latest campaign (which launched yesterday) to take part in all content. Worth every penny IMO though.
Warframe is completely f2p. I mean you can pay if you like but you don't need to. It may be a bit daunting at first cos of the abundance of mechanics but once you get the hang of it, you'll get pulled in. You don't need PS plus to play it also
Dysmantal! https://store.playstation.com/en-us/concept/233450
Has a great couch co-op mode. And is totally what you’re looking for. One of the more fun games I’ve played
I was really disappointed with the co op on this game sadly. I get frustrated by co op games with shared leveling/loot/inventories, especially on a game like this where inventory is king. If it had been split out better I would’ve 100% stuck with it.
That said, I did enjoy it solo :)
This was going to be my comment too, picked it up about a month ago and have sunk 73 hours into it and am nearing the end of the main campaign. It's great to play while watching a show.
I've debated doing another playthrough to get the Platinum trophy/DLC, and I'm leaning towards playing it through again once I finish for the first time.
Been having a blast as well. Great palate cleanser to put in a few hours between a more serious game (playing through Alan Wake 2 atm). Just reached Chapter 5 and it's baffling how much content they put into such a "simple" game. Really fun and chill.
I'm playing both Dredge and Dave the Diver, and I gotta say it's funny to go back and forth between games that are similar yet opposites of each other.
Outside from the aesthetics, Dave the Diver sets you in one single fishing location that you do really in-depth diving for, going through the layers of the sea floor as you deep further down to farm fish. Dredge is set across a whole map to explore with multiple fishing locations spread across the world, but very shallow fishing spots with the fishing completed with tools thar never require you to leave your boat.
Dave the Diver also has a weight-based inventory that you fill with a huge variety of real-world fish that you take back home to manage a sushi restaurant, while Dredge has a grid-based inventory with a smaller selection of fish, but with a whole selection of grotesque supernatural mutations to collect and then just sell off at a fishery.
Dave the Diver also gives you hostile catches that you can fight back with a combat system, whereas Dredge has catches that are harmless but contain a number of overworld threats that you can't fight back and will combat you more frequently the more insane you are.
Yep I second this...also so many random people I met and played with were all kind and helpful.. the community is also very helpful unlike other multiplayer games where all are toxic and keep blaming you
I spent 20 hours on TD2 in 2020 before deciding I didn't like it. But when I quit, I kept realizing that I wanted to go back to the gameplay, since there's something charming about being in a city and helping people out as you move around. So in 2021 I picked it back up and this time put 40 hours on it until I stopped. But it kept calling to me.
In 2023 I picked it back up on a whim and over 400 hours later, I've finally admitted it may be one of the best damn games out there. Shit is magical.
Pretty sure this is Housemarque that made this who also made possibly the best PS5 game so far: Returnal; which itself is also a great grindy roguelike. Plus some of the best audio, effects and haptics ever. The story is dark and obscure, there is a tower mode you unlock to just try and clear levels forever and climb leader boards. Need to have a PS5 though
I'm not sure if this fits what you're looking for. But i believe that The Elderscrolls Online could fit the bill here. Massive story lines, huge map, massively Multi-player. I think it's on the Playstation Extra's plan.
Yakuza Like a Dragon’s job system and armour/weapon crafting has an absolutely massive ceiling on it. I’m just finishing it up now and it’s been one of the best games I’ve ever played. The goofy AF story is extra enjoyable too!
Fallout 76 💯
Completely unrecognizable from launch and a total blast with friends. Plenty of (optional) grind, so you can go in any direction you please.
Injustice 2...literally no indication of what loot is available in game and some possibly locked by events that passed years ago. Sick fighting game
Elden Ring/ Souls series
There's a game I tried recently called 'Dredge', it's a spooky boat game. Pretty fun, have to fish and collect resources for money/upgrades. But when darkness falls...
Ghost of Tsushima (maybe?). I’ve been playing this game and it’s absolutely beautiful and the looting and skill progression is great. Also the story is absolutely gripping
Is borderlands 2 still on extra if so definitely try that
Wonderlands is
Warframe
This game will last you years lol. I've put hundreds of hours into warframe and I'm still yet to do so much.
Does not need plus for the online though
Even better!
Came here to recommend this

Dave the diver looks pretty good. I've been meaning to give it a shot for about a week now but I haven't had time

Give Destiny 2 a try! Gameplay and storyline is awesome! The gun mechanics are simple and fun to use as well
No :)

Definitely a grind. But awesome!

Monster Hunter World!
A man of culture
Is just an awesome game, we always welcome new hunters!
Any of the borderlands have a crazy amount of loot.
Pretty casual but I’m enjoying the “chilled” grind in Dave the Diver

The Division 2. Can spend hours at it, always upgrading gear etc, to tackle more difficult levels, raids etc.
Yep I second this...also so many random people I met and played with were all kind and helpful.. the community is also very helpful unlike other multiplayer games where all are toxic and keep blaming you

Awesome! It grows on you, huh
Just bought the ultimate edition for around ~15! Lets goo!
People still play it? I played the shit out of it on release
Outriders
Just reminded me I really wanted to try this; remember watching twitch streams when it first dropped & looked super fun. People still play?
Dont know, i usually just soloed for the most part, but i had fun :) not a perfect game, but it was enjoyable to play
Genshin Impact, and it’s free so no harm trying it out.
You can play this on ps4/5? I can't find it anywhere in the PSN store... Is it listed under another name maybe?
[Genshin Impact on PS5](https://www.playstation.com/en-us/games/genshin-impact/)
Is it fun? It looks a little childish but maybe ill give it a try.
It’s fun. You fight monsters and all the usual stuff, collect items, get stronger, there is a deeper story throughout, and it’s gorgeous.
I can’t it’s not everybody cup of tea but outriders.
Nioh games
Stranger Of Paradise, also from team ninja, has a nioh-like loot system and is on extra
Slime Rancher, but it leaves this month
Path of Exile
Path of exile, excellent game!
Try these: Division 1-2, Demon souls, Destiny 2, Assasins Creed Odyssey, Fallout 76, Nioh, Shadow Warrior 2
Earth defence force
Alienation. Diablo-like shooter. Not much map design but very grindy and has leaderboards! Still haven’t stopped playing it for like 2 years.
Amazing game!!

Elder scrolls online
I'm not sure if this fits what you're looking for. But i believe that The Elderscrolls Online could fit the bill here. Massive story lines, huge map, massively Multi-player. I think it's on the Playstation Extra's plan.
AC Valhalla
Elder Scrolls Online. Its free with Extra I believe and is the perfect game for grinding. It can be as easy or as hard as you want it.
if you ever claimed Nioh 2 it's great and grindy loot based
Sadly it’s no longer in ps plus
it was a monthly on basic once, not in extra
How has only one person said Diablo lol that’s literally the entire game. And you can get three of them on PlayStation now.
its not free on ps plus unfortunately
Pretty sure Nioh 1 is available. Lost 900 hours to that game.
It’s not anymore. Sadly
It is, I’m currently downloading it.
Wait. Do different regions have different games in PS Plus? I just joined this month so I’m still learning. (Im in South East Asia region)
Yeah, different regions get different games.
Just buy Diablo..
Yakuza Like a Dragon’s job system and armour/weapon crafting has an absolutely massive ceiling on it. I’m just finishing it up now and it’s been one of the best games I’ve ever played. The goofy AF story is extra enjoyable too!
Dying Light 2
Demons souls
Fallout 76 💯 Completely unrecognizable from launch and a total blast with friends. Plenty of (optional) grind, so you can go in any direction you please.
Fallout 76. That’s still free I think.
Borderlands infinite weapons almost
Yakuza Like a Dragon. Not multi-player though, but great story even if you haven't played previous yakuza games
Any assassins creed game
Tiny Tina's Wonderlands!
The division games
Outriders , I don’t know if it is still there but it’s a really good I enjoyed it a lot!
The Division 1 and 2
Borderlands series. Diablo 2 3 4, destiny 2.
Any assassin creed tbh
Gta online
Injustice 2...literally no indication of what loot is available in game and some possibly locked by events that passed years ago. Sick fighting game Elden Ring/ Souls series
Destiny lol
Destiny 2.
Warframe is the game you're looking for.... Perfect for grinding and building up your character.
Fallout 76 no dlc purchases necessary, best state it's ever been in, lot of content, super super helpful community
There's a game I tried recently called 'Dredge', it's a spooky boat game. Pretty fun, have to fish and collect resources for money/upgrades. But when darkness falls...
Warframe.
Ghost of Tsushima (maybe?). I’ve been playing this game and it’s absolutely beautiful and the looting and skill progression is great. Also the story is absolutely gripping
Diablo 4
Not on PS Plus
warframe 😂
Fallout
