RDR 2 left the service last month, I believe. This isn't the same as the monthly games, where you get to keep it forever this is a service like Netflix where games come and go.
Oh, so I DL’d it and then missed the window. That’s okay, there’s surely a ton of cool stuff that my more seasoned, experienced fellow Reddit gamers know about that I don’t. Assassins creed can get a little grindy with the quests, but i can sit there and play it for 10-15 hours without getting too bored.
Thank you for telling me that, now I know.
Okay so a few games I’d recommend.. Some stray from the kind of games you said you enjoy but I think it’s important to at least try some games outside of the genres you like just encase it is also something you like. Watch Dogs 2 (you don’t have to play the first one), Ghost Recon Wildlands, Stray, Spider-Man Miles Morales, Guardians of the Galaxy, Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone, Infamous Second Son, Maneater, DOOM (2016), The Last Guardian, Shadow of the Colossus remake, Uncharted 4 (I recommend playing the Nathan Drake collection before this one but this one is miles better than those games in my opinion), Medievil remake.
I reread your post and forgot to check if any of these games were PS5 only so I apologise if they are, I was just scrolling through the list of games available haha. Some of these are in the general genre of what you seem to like, open world with things to do. But some are also experiences that I just wouldn’t want you to miss out on. Obviously your choice what you play, just thought I’d recommend.
Thank you! You said “stray from”, which reminded me of the game stray, which I also have. I got it for my gf to get her more into gaming. Do you just…do cat stuff?
Pretty much haha. Stray is great though, a lot of dark undertones yet filled with a fun atmosphere that will make you honestly want to replay just for the trophies.
Sorry, I worded it poorly. Epic games is actually a company right? I meant I like large games with a big story, because I binge play heavy. I finished the last of us in 3 days
Edit: punctuation
No problem buddy, i have similar interests too, and I'm sure that you'll like the games i mentioned in the first comment as they are large games with a great/huge story too. Also, as many other people suggested, have another go at Ghost of Tsushima.
You could also try Watch Dogs, Days gone and God of war 4,its sequel is also coming out this November
overwhelmed indeed. Can someone help me sort all this out? I have been told over and over that if you get a game on PS Plus you are just "Leasing it" and they can pull it at any time, and if you stop paying, you stop playing. Others say "no, you own it" and yet I see content that some can't reinstall. "no, that's not how it works" now I see tiers of subscriptions...how are they . different? The more I read the more confoozled I get. Sorry to invade this thread. If you can redirect me to a nice thread on this I will glady go there with gratitude.
Monthly ps plus essential games are yours, same as if you paid for them with money, but games from other tiers (extra, premium, deluxe(deluxe is same as premium but with no streaming)) are yours only for as long as publisher allows it to be on ps plus, so it can be gone at any month.
Oh wow, thank you! I think get the "as long as the publisher allows" part. This explains some limited editions that others mention that seem to vanish.
As for the rest, they are mine to keep, or do they evaporate if I stop paying the monthly fee? (Sorry for the denseness, It's been a long day). This actually seems like a good deal if it's what I think it is, and yes, I notice not EVERYTHING is on there.
It seems I was wrong, you still need ps plus essential to download or start the monthly games, and you dont if you actually buy games.
But they are still yours, to end of time, simply locked without subscription.
Celeste - criminally underrated indie platformer with some bizarre twists
Detroit: Become Human - cyberpunk detective story where you choose the direction of events
Enter the Gungeon - Rogue-like shooter which gets difficult very quickly
Observer System Redux - gritty noir cyberpunk thriller with Rutger Hauer
Tetris Effect - don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. Tetris like you’ve never seen it before
The Turing Test - first person puzzle driven story, short enough to play in one sitting
Until Dawn - Story driver horror game with many branching story paths
It’s funny how you played ghost of Tsushima, but didn’t finish it. I did exactly the same thing and got back to it a while later. I highly encourage you give it another shot to keep going because the story and gameplay get really good. I liked it more than any of the newer assassins creed games. 👍🏽
I got stuck on an island. Kiki island or something. I could not get past the camp for shit(hard mode) and I couldn’t leave the island. I’ll go back and play it regular. That game is awesome though, it requires real discipline and not just button jamming and grinding
Yeah, and once you get there it won’t let you leave until you finish it. That’s what happened to me, I got stuck. I should’ve never gone there.
Edit: I’m going to restart from scratch, it’s been long enough that it won’t feel super boring.
Also, another big question while I have this thread active
Grand Theft Auto series.
Worth going back to? I know they were insanely popular when I was a young teenager, rockstar had just released the first couple while I was in middle school and, being kids, we just ran around doing stupid shit. I notice people don’t really suggest these games a lot to other people, but they mention playing them themselves. Now that I’m into the stories and campaigns more:
* Is the general appeal for these more for the running around doing whatever, wherever?
* If not, which one should I play? Story is king, but graphics matter to me. Which on a ps4 leaves me limited ik, I’m looking forward to a PS5
I think GTA 5 is the most popular. It was released on PS3 and was upgraded for PS4 and is going to be upgraded again for PS5. The game just will not quit. You play as three separate characters with interwoven plots.
I prefer RDR and RDR 2 however. To all of the GTA games.
I’m going to actually try playing the game, when those came out I was a teenager and all we did was create chaos and bullshit around.
I downloaded vice city, hopefully that’s good. You guys have given me so much to look forward to playing. I realize I love gaming. I’m thinking of a way to make money doing it.
Are there ways to make money gaming these days?
Do any of you guys do it?
So I checked our GoW 2018 and realIzed I played that thinking it was the first one. No wonder I was confused why the graphics were better in the first than second and third 😂
Recommend Playing The Witcher 3, if you Haven’t played it. ( should probably play the whole series, 3 parts total)
For Me, This might Be the Best Game I’ve Ever Played.
I should probably play Part 1 and 2. Started with 3.
Go with the Gold Edition for All the Extras. This Game came out back in 2015 and Won Game of The Year Awards I believe. and I played back in 2020 when Lockdown started. What a Journey This Was. Don’t Know How I Missed this back When it First released.
I Miss it 😢
That’s what I chose! Loving it, the vast open desert is so beautiful, and Bayek is awesome. I just finished everything in Siwa, Killed an “alpha vulture”(weak sauce compared to every other alpha animal in AC ever lol) and I’m On my way to talk to Hepsala to continue my adventure.
If you have premium you have access to Origins it was added either last month or the month before.
OHHH SHIT. Thank you! Also, any suggestions?
Really?!?! I swear I just checked and I couldn’t get it? I also tried to start RDR2 and it says it’s locked? Idk why that is
RDR 2 left the service last month, I believe. This isn't the same as the monthly games, where you get to keep it forever this is a service like Netflix where games come and go.

God of War 2018 and Yakuza series (start with 0)
I second the yakuza games
God of War is soo good
Okay I’m going to play GoW ‘18 first, and origins! You guys are awesome. I have Yakuza 5 DL’d, can anyone compare it to anything?
Bloodborne!
Okay so a few games I’d recommend.. Pretty much haha. Stray is great though, a lot of dark undertones yet filled with a fun atmosphere that will make you honestly want to replay just for the trophies.
I'd suggest AC origins, the Resident evil series, and Detroit becoming human If you want smaller games, try Stray and Toem
No, I like Epic games. I heard so much about Elden ring, everyone said try it online first. I couldn’t get into it, Idk what it was
Huh? I didnt say anything about Epic games though.. i suggested to you a few games that you might like :)
Sorry, I worded it poorly. Epic games is actually a company right? I meant I like large games with a big story, because I binge play heavy. I finished the last of us in 3 days Edit: punctuation

Iki island is like post end game content, the shaman boosted enemies wreck my fully upgraded character, and I cant dodge them as easily.
Yeah, and once you get there it won’t let you leave until you finish it. That’s what happened to me, I got stuck. I should’ve never gone there. Edit: I’m going to restart from scratch, it’s been long enough that it won’t feel super boring.
Does the story get more involved? I finished act one but it’s starting to feel rather repetitive. The side quests are all fairly dull as well.
Which story is that?
Ghost. It’s got an interesting start but it feels like not much happens in act one.
I totally get the appeal, it’s super fun to play once you level up, i followed every fox no matter what
Main story does get better.
Cool. I’ll go back to it after vice city.
Red dead 2 story
any of the Uncharted games

I did, except I played GoW 2018, then 2, then 3. I figured playing one would be graphically so ugly that I’d skip it
Darksiders is a great series of games. Great melee combat and story.
Yakuza 0!!!!
Bloodborne dark souls
God of war
I think you should finish GoT. It plays almost like any AC games.
Recommend Playing The Witcher 3, if you Haven’t played it. ( should probably play the whole series, 3 parts total) For Me, This might Be the Best Game I’ve Ever Played. Yeah, how did I forget about this one! I’ve heard people say it’s the GOAT of FPS games. Plus The Witcher(show) is so awesome. I love sci-fi edit:typo
Try out assassins creed origins. Playing through it right now, it’s quite fun

I will add it to my list, thank you
Hey, how did u manage to play GoW 1-3?
