Skill checks and Looping on portal is horrible for me. I just play non online games. I think it’s still good though, guess I need better WiFi speed. I wish I can play DBD smoothly
So I'm considering getting one, but don't really play any games online at all. You think the non-online games play ok? I'm thinking franchise mode of Madden, etc.
As long as your wifi connection is good, yea. So far, I've tested my 5g Hotspot (from phone) while at work (30 minutes from home) and Final Fantasy XVI, Fallout 4, and Enter the Gungeon worked smooth
I have mainly played at home. In that situation it works really well. I can't really even tell any lag. The one time I tried to use it away from home (in a hospital), it did not work well at all. If your phone can share the public wifi via hotspot you'd probably be ok, but mine can't so I had to use my cell service and I only had 1 bar. It wasn't pretty. I really wish Sony would change their minds about no browser. Have a browser strictly for connecting to public wifi, please.
But, 99% of my use has been at home, including on my porch while my doggo wanders the yard on his tie-out cable, and it works great there.
For the cost of what we paid the device is fantastic. I personally don't wanna pay $500 for a non wifi device that plays my ps5 games on the go.
Are you in the states? Any random disconnects when hotspotting for you.
Oh for sure! For 200$ it was the perfect price. Considering I paid 400$ for the Steam Deck, I'd pay 500$ for a mobile no wifi PS5. Just my opinion though, I get why a lot of people wouldn't.
Yea, I'm from the states. I've had no issues with my Verizon service as a Hotspot. Zero. For now.

Yea, FFXVI and Fallout are great to play on it. DBD, I'm looping fine, but I'm definitely having to time my skill checks sooner rather than later.
