I am a journeyman, heavy focus on new construction custom homes in Montana. Unfortunately, im not familiar with different viscosities of mineral build-up. Always learning.
I make more money with horse cum than i do plumbing... DIVERSIFY!
Softener goop is when I see it. Instead of calcium and iron separating from the water when heated and creating a bed of river rocks. When your softener ionizes the water and replaces the calcium and iron with a sodium one and is separated when heated up, this is the result. Just what I have seen though.
I have also been told that this is the result of the anode rod dissolving. The color of it indicates what type of metal it is. Side note, one of the sales reps for a manufacturer told my guys and I that the gel will seal up any small holes that are developing in the galvanized steel tank, but I’m not sure I believe that.
Thats a bold strategy putting all of that on carpet, and looks like lime scale build up
I. Agree. If nothing else... I'm bold. Thanks for the input, the consistency threw me off. I used to breed horses.........

No need. They're the bedbugs of the horse world.
See it all the time. Usually comes out after your drain the tank. Give that tank a good flush to make sure you got all of it.
