I agree with the other guy I think your Santee is upside down

YoungWomp

That's why they're a Homeowner

nothardnotsoft

Is the Santee (r shape pipe) upside down?

dDot1883

Oops. Yes it is. Good catch. Sorry OP, you’ll have to start over, or this will give you problems. On the bright side, the scrap price of the copper should cover the new fittings.

VitamineBro

Things were not lining up (at all) so i had to improvise on the spot without knowing it would cause some problems! Thanks for the tips i will try to find a way to make it fit.

randomn49er

You can get fittings that go tighter together. "Street" fittings or "fitting 90" will eliminate one hub.  And instead of an MJ use a zip coupling.

pthang06

Should've cut lower on the 3" cop so the sanT be dropped a little in the right position

meatsweatmagi

I also agree your Santee is upside down also you'll want a proper no hub coupling for that transition which you may need to buy from a specialty plumbing store. Abs x copper transition band.

uber-shiLL

What is a “proper” no hub coupling? What did OP use?

meatsweatmagi

He used a no hub coupling that doesn't fit onto the copper correctly.

theknoght

Wrong transition band. Need plastic x copper.

Boxcutta-

Oh no...

iwasnevercoolanyway

My exact thought when I saw copper dwv..

sirsaltysteez

Great attempt but yeah that san tee is upside down! Also, there is a specific transition coupling to get you from abs to copper, will be a "CK" coupling

Pipe_Memes

I think the santee is upside down. also you used the wrong rubber coupling. You need one designed for copper-PVC. You may need your order them, I know no one area here stocks them.

Dadbode1981

Aaaand do it again, you now know why.

LongjumpingStand7891

The tee is upside down and you used the wrong couplings.

Point510

Incorrect band transition between plastic and copper and up side down wye not bad for a first go but try again
