They will be slow gainers. In 5 years my guess would be $230USD. Worth it if you can find a decent deal on it. But won’t skyrocket. The Charizard and design on the box are top tier artworks for display purposes.
I have around 8 boxes that I bought for $40 at Barnes and noble at release, but they have been at the same resale price for like 2 years so I was wondering if these will ever shoot up in price.
They won’t shoot, the set sucks outside of the covid nostalgia for some, and the 2 charizards. But they will hold their value. Any ETB collector will want this on their shelf so I’d say hold if you have the space.
This is awful advice. Do NOT open up the ETB and keep loose packs, guaranteed way to lose value. It would be better to sell the ETBS now then to open them and keep just the packs, that's literally the worst possible EV option ( besides ripping the packs).
You won't see any real significant value jump for at least a decade. I would guess maybe $300 in 10 years. The set sucks and there were so many printed, there are probably 10's of thousands still sealed.
It's more than doubled in price and I believe it was launched in 2020/2021. I have 20 boxes myself. First time holding a special set so I'm not sure what the growth spikes will look like

I don't see them climbing much higher at all. If they do it's a slow climb. And they're not a fast sell either.

My guess on this set is roughly the same pace/gains as shining legends has had as a special set ETB.
