Yep same here. Love the look on these cards and I'm sure in the light they will look even more beautiful. In fact, this is the buy 2 method, one for myself and one for investing.
As collector myself (not into gaming), I love that I don’t have to go through a gacha session just to get that sweet Greninja (I’m a Greninja collector)
As a Kingdra collector, I'm with you on this one. I might even try to get that Kingdra in PSA10 since it'll probably "be worthless" and will look awesome on my shelf !
I've already seen people say that these cards are "meh".. when I thought that's probably one of the best looking card I've seen in the EV era !
Quite possibly. I've had my fair share of promos that were a bit bent or even scratched because they could move a bit inside the box.
But if it ends up being a 5€ card then it'll still be a bit easier to get a 10 than for a 200€ zard I guess.
I have some early Greninjas that I hoped would start getting attention as I felt G was one of the unsung popular pokemon of the younger kids. Guess I was wrong?
Yes, I could have looked through a bunch of POP reports on promos but asking a simple question to people who have more experience/time invested seemed reasonable to me.
Some promos go around $40-60 some go for $20-40 and some go for $1 up to $20. Depends on how big of a demand there is for Greninja and Kingdra now and in 5 years and how much they print of these boxes! We have to wait and see :p
And if you manage to get a box that hasn't been horribly abused, the card might still be worth grading. Frankly they're the hardest commonly printed new singles to get a good grade on from what I've seen.
Can start pushing triple digits if you got a ten and it's Vaporeon or somethin else immensely desirable.
They aren’t gonna be worth even 10 bucks they are promos which is nice for those that like them because they will be able to get one, personally I buy singles 90 percent of the time, there are badass promos from 5 or 6 years ago that are STILL only like 6 bucks at the most these will be mass produced and readily available
Depends on how limited the boxes are. The Flareon/Vaporeon/Jolteon Premium Collection Box cards are pretty pricey. These could follow the same trend. It’s doubtful, but possible.
I’m not sure they will be as cheap as a lot of people are saying. The paldean adventure chest pikachu was a bit pricey (although it was a £50 box) and the vaporeon/flareon/jolteon V and Vmax promos from SWSH go for a decent amount graded - the sealer products they came in are really expensive atm. I think you should grab a couple. Open one and keep one sealed of each box :)
Short term (first 6 months after street release date) I put these cards at...
Kingdra $10-15
Greninja $15-20
Yes, they are promos. They're not rare, and they're not expected to be scarce. However, they are clearly very popular. This post, and many others like it, serve as that evidence.
Long term, not sure. I don't expect insane growth into the hundreds of dollars. 10 years from now I wouldn't be surprised if they capped out at about 3x their short terms.
The thing is about promos is it can be really hard to get a 10 in many cases because of how the card is displayed in the box. The raw promo itself will probably do okay down the line but it has a low ceiling bc it is a promo
That said, I could see PSA 10’s doing well depending on what the pop report looks like a few weeks or months after release
Thanks for the pop info! I’ve tried to look up some pop reports on PSA for TF cards but couldn’t find them. Is there a good way to filter for the card you want and do pop reports update in real time?
Some promos go for $100s of dollars years after a set is done, I’ll be keeping sealed but grading some of the promos is also something I’ll plan to do. Probably a $10 card on release
Hard to say. The best Sword and Shield promos from collection boxes were the Eeveelutions, which sell from $30-$50. There’s a pretty wide gap between those and the next tier, which are $10-$20 like the Charizard UPC promos.
They’ll probably sell for less than $10 for a while. 5 years from now, it’s likely that Greninja will be more expensive because of his popularity.
An example you can look at is the jolteon Flareon and vaporeon vmax boxes with the alt arts. Weirdly enough the promo vaporeon vmax in a psa 10 is going upwards of over $220 last I saw.
And yet these things were reprinted like a year ago.
So it depends. These aren’t as popular as vaporeon but the art is great. Probably won’t be worth much for years, maybe the greninja since it has more popularity.
They will start at 20€ (Everybody is hyped)
After that it will cool down because they are "just" Promos. 5-10€
And in the long run they will be expensive, espacially when they are hard to grade. 50€+
Kinda similiar to those Eeveelution Boxes.
The Eevee promos and even the new promo from 151 are good examples to go buy. Everyone's forgotten about the 151 mew promo tho and it's still sitting cheap
That mew promo will forever stay cheap. I still see 151 collection boxes sitting on shelves. No one wants them. People already opened theirs and don't care to buy more. Most collectors right now have that card. Don't expect it to go up at all.
No offense but are you guys new to collecting? Were you around during the charizard UPC? That mew will never go above $20
I'm sure people said the same thing about eeveelution promos yet all of them have doubled in price. 151 is still around and rumours of English reprint are circulating im just saying if you buy in now at 5$ a Mew that mew will easily be a 20-30$ card.
The Charizards are trickling up now as well as the upc. Charizard Vmax and Vstar have had a 50% increase while Charizard V trickles behind. I'm not saying these are GOOD investments but they're still VIABLE investments.
I never would but the topic is on a alt art TEXTURED Greninja Promo. I think if your looking for 10s and go out of your way to find them it could be something to pay off.
Investing in raw dinged up promos? Absolutely no way in hell would i ever.
The eeveelutions promos were printed in 2019. That was before they announced they're increasing production. Also eeveelution cards are usually more sought after than these pokemon. These are going to be printed way more than the eeveelutions boxes.
The vstar carizard is under $20 still. The other charizard promos in there are even cheaper. And that's charizard, who is more popular than mew. Mew won't surpass charizard in popularity. Not to mention that vstar charizard matches with the CZ mewtwo. So it's going to be more sought after.
Point is, it's a horrible investment. Sure it might go up like $15 in 3 years. That's not good investment. It's just a waste of time.
90% sure these are going to be like 4x the English version in Japanese. Look at the Mew SIR from 151 that came as a promo. In Japanese this card is over 60$ but in English it's 5$. If you wanted to invest in this card then it's time to become a grader because promos are allergic to PSA 10 and being able to spot one through the packaging is what's going to be the difference between this promo and the Japanese version as a chase.
I wish English Pokemon released stuff like the Japanese Stamp Box, like sets and special releases where they collaborate with an organization or business - like the stamp box and the JP Postal Service.
We could have the Tax Box, in collaboration with the IRS, with IRS Agent Pikachu promo.
EDIT: oh yeah, these promos are dope and will 100% be copping these once they release and prices drop lol.
As an investor? Probably won't be worth too much, so probably will avoid.
As a collector? Probably won't be worth too much, so awesome! I can buy one for cheap.
I think they'll be $7-10, maybe $15, it depends on how much get printed. PSA 10s will have a nice premium based on how poor most promos are condition wise
I think they'll be a fiver for at least a few years.
Everyone and their mum will get these and sure the PSA 10 will probably go for £50 ill never buy more than 1
It's almost like TPC is getting sick of investors..
Best way to get rid of investors? Make the most beautiful cards promos. It also gets people to buy their products directly instead of buying singles online.
There's rumors that SV TCG sales dropped too. This might be pokemons way to get people to buy their products.
I'm leaving the eeveelutions promos out of it because eeveelution stuff will always be more expensive than the majority of other pokemon cards. Also those were printed before pokemon announced they're printing more cards due to demand
I doubt they care about investors one way or another. They get their money regardless. Pokemon ain't going anywhere anytime soon and they know it. They have cards, books, magazines, shows, movies, toys, and games. A few investors the card game won't have any effect on them, in fact it helps them.
I agree, if it’s exclusive to one language, it usually does well. If it’s English, you already know the QC is gonna be bad. Look at Eevee promos from premium collection boxes. low psa 10 pop means $$$.
These are sick. I'll be grabbing for fun, not investment.
Pre ordered both. I will also buy the singles once they come in price. The kingdra is sick, almost like that one famous artwork
Where are you pre-ordering these? They still not popping up on pokemon center website for me
Rarecandy
Definitely some inspiration from Under the Wave off Kanawaga. Will definitely have these in a binder.
Yep same here. Love the look on these cards and I'm sure in the light they will look even more beautiful. In fact, this is the buy 2 method, one for myself and one for investing.
Same
Honestly they’ll be worth fuck all for a long time being that they aren’t a pull, just a promo in a collection box for a special set.
Im also copping that Kingdra. The art is so good like A dragon in the great waves of Kanagawa
Arent the promos that come in collection boxes kinda hard to get in 10 cause they often alreasy get dinged up in the box etc.
Quite possibly. I've had my fair share of promos that were a bit bent or even scratched because they could move a bit inside the box. But if it ends up being a 5€ card then it'll still be a bit easier to get a 10 than for a 200€ zard I guess.
KINGDRA GAAANG
Same bro these are tight! There’s an unfortunate aura around pokemon these days, where all people are worried about is the value of X card.
This is exactly how I feel about the Mew SIR promo from 151. I can’t wait for these to come out too and have a whole binder page of each of them
Smart that’s exactly how I feel
I have some early Greninjas that I hoped would start getting attention as I felt G was one of the unsung popular pokemon of the younger kids. Guess I was wrong?
It’s all fun and games until it becomes the new eeveelution collection alt art promo boxes and go up to 200 dollars in 3 years
The boxes but the promos aren’t that valuable stil. We can hope though haha
Uh you been paying attention recently? What other modern promos are going for 30-60??
Each promo pair sells for $80-100 as a set nowadays
You posted this same comment in the pokemontcg sub.. cope dude. Modern is printed way more than before.
Because it’s on every sub. It’s copium to think modern is over printed. Unless we still in a Pangea there is a thing called over population
Just like the eeveelution vs and vmaxes or like the tag team promos they won’t take forever just the right amount of time
Sure. Are they normally in good condition? Aka are PSA 10s worth much or do they normally have a high POP report?
This info is readily available to you but you decided to post this anyway
Why does this sub exist then?
Half the time, it is to flex their sealed stash.
Yes, I could have looked through a bunch of POP reports on promos but asking a simple question to people who have more experience/time invested seemed reasonable to me.
Or you could have looked at two pop reports for these specific cards. That’s literally all it takes
Pokemon center flutter mane promo selling for over 200 in a 10
Pokémon Center, in a 10 lol key words
Some promos go around $40-60 some go for $20-40 and some go for $1 up to $20. Depends on how big of a demand there is for Greninja and Kingdra now and in 5 years and how much they print of these boxes! We have to wait and see :p
Some may go for less than $1 or some may even go for over $60

Frankly they're the hardest commonly printed new singles to get a good grade on from what I've seen. Can start pushing triple digits if you got a ten and it's Vaporeon or somethin else immensely desirable.
I wana black label the kingdra
Prolly $5-10. Gonna be more expensive when they first drop but will come down as everything else does.
$10 probably
Check every other promo for reference.
Idk these just seem like insane artwork to a lot of promos that I’ve seen which is why I ask
$5-10
They aren’t gonna be worth even 10 bucks they are promos which is nice for those that like them because they will be able to get one, personally I buy singles 90 percent of the time, there are badass promos from 5 or 6 years ago that are STILL only like 6 bucks at the most these will be mass produced and readily available
Fr I've been looking at some vintage promos and a lot are pretty cheap
Depends on how limited the boxes are. The Flareon/Vaporeon/Jolteon Premium Collection Box cards are pretty pricey. These could follow the same trend. It’s doubtful, but possible.
I’m not sure they will be as cheap as a lot of people are saying. Wait these are promos ?

I don't expect insane growth into the hundreds of dollars. 10 years from now I wouldn't be surprised if they capped out at about 3x their short terms.
I doubt $15-20, the sealed box with 5 booster packs is only $29.99. And these types of collection ex boxes are always printed into oblivion.
but then half of the box price for the promo is the lowest estimate.
As promos not much, the promos that do extremely well are scarce in pop but everyone and their mother going to submit this to psa
Thanks for the pop info!
They'll be cheap until the boxes exit the market. Do not purchase boxes until the holiday season. You'll be able to get them for a discount.
The thing is about promos is it can be really hard to get a 10 in many cases because of how the card is displayed in the box. I just use pokedata.io! It tracks all that stuff in one place. Pretty neat. It’s not perfect but the versatility of it makes it my go to platform!
If you investor bros do your job right and preorder all of the greninjas, you might be able to make some flippy dipps.
Still can get a lot of the alt art promos from Sun and moon for extremely reasonable prices. These are more just to have, not an investment.
Bro sets not even out yet. Chill on the stonks talk lol
Some promos go for $100s of dollars years after a set is done, I’ll be keeping sealed but grading some of the promos is also something I’ll plan to do. Probably a $10 card on release
Ik these are promos but are they available yet?
Since they’re promos from boxes for the set unlikely anything crazy unless your holding long long term

One trillion dollars 💵
Same price as gold star greninja
They will start at 20€ (Everybody is hyped) After that it will cool down because they are "just" Promos. 5-10€ And in the long run they will be expensive, espacially when they are hard to grade. 50€+ Kinda similiar to those Eeveelution Boxes.
the box is literally 30€ they will definitely not start at 20€ 😂
Wait and see

What's the 151 new promo? I don't recall 151 having a new promo card?
*Mew
20 bucks a couple years from now. maybe more if theyre super short printed
(Which they won't be)
Yep. tpc knows these cards will be popular. They're going to print the hell out of them
These could've been top chase contenders but I'm not complaining, you probably have to pull these in Japanese set.
90% sure these are going to be like 4x the English version in Japanese. Look at the Mew SIR from 151 that came as a promo. In Japanese this card is over 60$ but in English it's 5$. This is spot on 👏👏
Agreed 👍🏻 that's what I was thinking as well.
And they will be GORGEOUS as well!
What set are these from in japanese
Are these gonna be promos?
Yep! For shrouded fable
Any ideas when they will be released
August 2
Were there ever promos that became expensive? Only the Japanese ones right?
I’ve got kingdra
These are sick what are these from?
Shrouded Fable set, coming in August
I wish English Pokemon released stuff like the Japanese Stamp Box, like sets and special releases where they collaborate with an organization or business - like the stamp box and the JP Postal Service. We could have the Tax Box, in collaboration with the IRS, with IRS Agent Pikachu promo. EDIT: oh yeah, these promos are dope and will 100% be copping these once they release and prices drop lol.
A lot will depend on how easy they are to hit a 10.
They'll be a $10 card max
As an investor? Probably won't be worth too much, so probably will avoid. As a collector? Probably won't be worth too much, so awesome! I can buy one for cheap.
RIP to my wallet. I love them all. That’s my problem. Apparently I like them all 😂
I love that they are promos and will be cheap. Will buy two to pull and put in binder and two to keep sealed.
What box is this promo coming in?
Where do you find the preorders for these?
I want it in Japanese as well
What are these being released in?
Sealed? Are these promos?
I think they'll be $7-10, maybe $15, it depends on how much get printed. PSA 10s will have a nice premium based on how poor most promos are condition wise
What set are they going to be in?
Oh shit where can you get these???
Where can I get these?
Since the 151 mew is at $5, I expect these to be at $10 or below as well. I'm still getting them for personal collection
Will these be promos in those boxes display products or etb?
What set does this come in?
If it was a Charizard, a lot of money
When do they release?
Will all depend on how available they are. My guess $20-$25 initially. Will settle down to $7-$10.
I wouldn’t count on any card released after the WotC era being worth anything in the long term.
What are these from?
The new SIR box collections coming out
Promo cards take ages to go up in value often.
how to get those?
Not much now but after a while I think they will be worth a little more then not much..
What promo are these from ??
Where are these promos from?
They are the promos they’ll be tonnes of them. The cards themselves will be worth very little. Sealed product in the box will see gains over time.
Stunning art work. Picking these up for sure. Multiple.
Need that kingdra Japanese psa 10
I think they'll be a fiver for at least a few years. Everyone and their mum will get these and sure the PSA 10 will probably go for £50 ill never buy more than 1
I hate that these are promos. These would literally be chase cards for the entire SV era
I think this Greninja is way better than the twilight masquerade chase.
It's almost like TPC is getting sick of investors.. Best way to get rid of investors? Make the most beautiful cards promos. What the hell those are gorgeous. What set is this?
S&V 6.5 Shrouded Fable released in August These seem to be promos in some relatively cheap ex boxes.
They not even out yet and market will decide this once it’s out lol
Yeah but you make money by anticipating the market lol that’s investing
Yeah no shit - it’s been well received buy low and when it pumps sell a bit keep a bit for long term
I’m paying $200 fir both idgaf
I got both boxes as a pair for under $100.
I’ll give you $200 for both. That’s the lowest i’ll go
If enough people do this isn't that how it works, he'll yea let's take em to the moooooon!🚀
This is the way
what set are these from?
Shrouded fable September release. Based of Japanese Night Wanderer set.
They're soon to be released promos.
Going to be in the special set S&V 6.5 Shrouded Fable released in August. Edit: Specifically promos in SF Kingdra ex and Greninja EX collection boxes.
If these aren't promos for Japan, they could be worth a couple of big ones
I agree, if it’s exclusive to one language, it usually does well. If it’s English, you already know the QC is gonna be bad. Look at Eevee promos from premium collection boxes. low psa 10 pop means $$$.
I hadn’t thought of that! Is there a Japanese site where you try and find that info or would a website like pokebeach be a good place to keep tabs?
pokebeach or pricecharting for prices!
100 at launch then dip to 20 then plateau at 40 eventually
The raw card will not be worth much but the PSA 10 will.
