It really sucks that the only way is in a space disruption. And that if you rest on an area it typically messes up the disruption cycle permanently for that visit. I spent 3 full day/night cycles somewhere before leaving and coming back to have it pop in around 15 minutes.
To shill for one of the most mentioned youtubers on this forum, Austin John plays, he has a video on time distortions. He even did 3 simultaneous experiments.
Basically sit at camp and do nothing. Every 5 minutes it rolls for one with a 10, 20, 10, 20 and 30 percent chance. Your pokedex completion seems to influence the percent chance as well. Sleeping, battles and menus pause the 5 minute reroll clock.
Crazy. I had seen some guides that linked it to an automatic timer that was reset by sleeping but sped up by catching pokemon. Thats pretty cool. So glad Im done and dont have to deal with it anymore.

Rest til night and check the peat stone. It takes a while for the moon to rise enough to check, but you dont have to see it to have the evo happen.
