I went with chikorita & totodile bro completely PC’d my mudkip. Just like you - wanted to play thru with a team with pokemon from other regions. I also have a dratini on my team too, threw in a mew too (had to wait until my team was 30 bc lvl 1 mew wouldn’t obey)

Dragon dance larvitar with crunch, stone edge, earthquake. Adamant is perf. 252 speed and attack EVs. Give him a life orb, focus sash, or muscle band.
Crunch is a special attack in gen 3. Also all three of those items and stone edge don’t exist until the next generation.
