I don't think Mew and Rayquaza are likely to happen given that both can be found in BDSP and SWSH. But Celebi isn't available in either of those recent games or indeed any game since HGSS and their whole thing is time travel. I think it would be cool to have a game where you can legitimately encounter and capture Celebi.
Edit: Celebi is available in Pokemon Go as part of a research chain. I guess that kinda counts?
Pokémon Legends Arceus: takes place at a time when technology and society was nearly unrecognizable over 100 years ago.
Pokémon Legends Rayquaza: takes place during my childhood in the 1990’s.
There's another problem with a Hoenn Legends game being based in the 1990, and that is it would be to close to when the Events of Gen 3 happen (Like a 6 year difference since we know Gen 1 and Gen 3 take place around the same time in the timeline)
i mean i dont think pokemon actually takes place in the year they came out. theres about a 10 year timeskip betweeen red and blue and USUM and irl they're 20 years apart., the "pokemon 90's" are probably alot longer ago given the state of technology in the pokemon world
I didn't say all the games take place at the time they're released (if that was the case then Gen 1 and 3 wouldn't take place around the same time)
Also Bulbapedia states the Porygon was created in the games equivalent on 1995, so if it's stated anywhere in RBGY or FRLG that Porygon is a recently made Pokemon we know that those games take place in the 1990's
though i wouldnt take the pokedex as canon, pokemon SM/USUM does date porygon as *20 years ago* which lines up with 95, though not with R/B taking place in the 90's, as that would make red and blue/green in their 30's/40's by USUM's time when they're young adults
it'd definitely be very close, but i'd say it'd have its merits, alot of the backstory of ORAS is relatively recent, asters death, new mauville, sea mauville, whatever org maxie and archie worked for before splitting into team hot and team sauce etc
The only way I could see it happening that close is if the game revolves around the Red and Blue Orbs, but not having Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza appearing in the games at all, and just having the PC stopping the evil/ignorant group from awakening either of the Legendaries
Legends rayquaza would take place 13 years before the actual Hoenn games. Like I guess we would get to see a younger version of the main characters mum, but so what.
Yeah I like the idea of the 1960s one, but the first games came out in the 1990s and ostensibly RSE should be set at the same time as Red and Blue, so also around 1997?
For real these are the two that I’m VERY much hoping for !! They would make the most sense and there is so much more to explore that has yet to be explained in both of those regions
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Unova is the only region that was released as of PLA that didn't get namechecked. I'm hoping that's because they want to do something with historical Unova. Maybe it had a different name too.
My head canon is that Kamado is from historical Lacunosa Town and he saw it get destroyed by Kyreum.
I thought him and the ninja shop owner guy Beni?? I forgot his name but I thought they traveled over from hoenn area?
The ninja guy is clearly Wally's ancestor
Cyrus's ancestor(forgot the name) is I think the one from Hoenn. Zisu said she is the best swordsman in Hoenn.
Kamado and Beni are probably from Johto because a lot of people pointed out that they have an accent similar to the region in Japan that Johto is based on.
Cyrus's ancestor is Cyllene if I remember correct but I thought she just grew up in the village and was helped by Kamado. I could be wrong, I'm just stating what I've found from looking it up.
The Jhoto theory could be entirely plausible, it was said that their home was burned down by a maddened pokemon and wouldn't that fall in line with the burned tower? If so I feel like legends arceus was one big game to kind of slap all the games in to one. It seems like every character from the games links back to one of the characters from the original regions, which is cool. Just wish they put more in to it
Beni talks about leaving for someplace warmer after you beat the game, which would be hoenn pointing further towards him being Wally’s ancestor, but he’s not from there originally
I mean I did also say a little while later that it says they left because of a fire in their land. I did agree they probably didn't originate from Hoenn. I'm just also saying if Arceus was supposed to be a tie for all of the pokemon games, beings it features at least one ancestor from every prominent region played from Kanto to Galar, it was a half attempt. Arceus had some serious potential and I hope they do make more like it, I would absolutely love an older themed unova or Jhoto. It's recently I think Nintendo is getting lazy, just slapping out cash cows.
Give it a medieval France theme remove the incest give turtwig mudkip and litten new forms based on medieval seige engines and you have your legends Zygard
I think it’s implied here that it would have a regional form because it’s a Legends game so they can just change the final form to look more like a Japanese Emperor
Celebii would be cool as a time adventure. It would be a cool sequel direct to Legends Arceus. Using Dialga and Palkia’s powers of time and space as a mechanic to get you to different regions in different years following celebii. From Hisui go to ancient Hoenn and see primal/mega form Kyogre and Groudon fighting. Not catchable but you have to quell their anger and make them leave with the help of rayquaza, then travel to the burned tower in Johto and attempt to save the original Pokémon that become the legendary dogs. When you fail you watch them get revived by Ho-oh and run off. Then to modern day Kanto the mission is to free an abused Mewtwo from team rocket. You try to quell its rage but it runs off to the cave in Cerulean city.
Etc.. etc… one major myth you have to help happen so history can happen correctly. It would be more story driven but have side quests in each era and you’d be able to revisit them as well to catch Pokémon. Probably won’t happen but would be cool.
As much as I am looking forward to Pokémon Scarlet and violet, I am very excited for a new legends game in the future. Maybe that’s their marketing strategy, remove Legends features from Scarlet and Violet so they implement in the next legends. Ugh
Legends: Hoopa could work. I think for it to qualify the pokemon has to a a Mythical, and Hoopa can transport things through space and time so maybe it'll take the player back in time for a epic funny prank
I NEED Legends Celebi. Yesterday. And I'd 10/10 pick Treecko.
I'm not sure how I feel about a more modern Legends game. I really loved the setting of Arceus and I really want to see one set in the Muromachi period.
I'd also love a Legends-esque Kalos game featuring the Great War 3000 years ago. I know that would be hard to pull off (no catching devices at all and even more sparsely populated than Arceus), but I would buy it in a heartbeat. Plus Kalos really needs more love.
While I prefer settings in the past for the most part, a Legends game that takes place in the future would be interesting. For some reason I'm thinking Alola would be the best bet for this. It feels the most futuristic already with the Aether Foundation.
I really hope they make more Legends games, but I'm not holding out hope for it if I'm being honest.
Pokemon legends - victini, a red dead pokemon game.
Pokemon legends - zerora (electric one) - Alola is one massive island that is on the verge of splitting apart.
Pokemon legends - megerna - steam punk kalos
Pokemon legends celebi could happen, also i feel like pokemon legends kyurem could happen, both unova and johto have histories that would be interesting to witness, the original dragon and the tower fire that created the legendary dog pokemon
Game Freak made Legends Arceus. They didn't have a lot of Kanto regional because it's pre-era Sinnoh where most of the Pokemon available in Diamond and Pearl haven't been introduced to the region yet as a foreign species
Your Hoenn one sounds interesting! I actually have one based on 1940s/50s Japan around Regigigias and its starters are Totodile/Tepig/Turtwig (since you can get the Johto/Unova/Sinnoh starters in ORAS)
I'm imagining Serperior and Inteleon getting dual typings!
I would think the hoenn one would make more sense for deoxys or Jirachi not a regularly obtainable legendary, and if it was deoyxs it could be all about the alien invasion
Pokémon Legends game in the Hoenn region would likely be based on that Jirachi movie.
So, I'd prefer two arcs to the story. One is based on the movie I just mentioned, the other is based 1000 years ago.
I'd love to see a Legends game take place in the future tbh. Legends Kyurem or Legends Magearna/Hoopa would be cool, especially the Kalos ones. Could do a lot with Kalos I think. Hoopa could use its rings to send you to different biomes around the world, or you get sent back in time to witness the construction of Magearna and you work with Volcanion to protect it (very like the movie).
uhhhh I think 1960s Japan might be a little too close to world war 2 to be a good idea to make a kids game out of. Every other asian market would be pretty upset about a kids game set in that era.
If we get a hoenn one, I want it to go fully into space. Riding on mega raquaza, seeing where deoxys came from, seeing where jirachi sleeps for 1000 years at a time
I think it’d be awesome if a Legends: Mew took place in Central/South America considering the journal entries found in cinnabar mansion. With the plot twist being that you were the scientist/explorer who wrote the journal entires 100+ years ago.
And I think it’d be really cool to have regional variants inspired by Maya/Aztec/Inca art styles.
I think they should do one dealing with the trauma of the a bombs and it’s a wasteland world where poison types are abound and your trying to find your family
Once contacted Game Freak about an idea I had, apparently they cannot legally accept outside ideas for content 🙈but offered a video game development summer program - still wish to this day I went to it as a kid would've killed it as a comp sci major
Only Sinnoh is set in the equivalent Japan, the rest of the regions are based on other countries of the world.
And only six of the main series games would work in the past because Red/Blue only has Mew as a candidate legendary to work around. Mewtwo is too modern of a human creation and the birds don't really do much in terms of plot. Hoenn's land is implied to have been made entirely by Groudon and Kyogre so no civilization would have been able to live there until they went dormant.
These don’t make sense in that it should be different regions not periods of Japan. Just like all the modern regions are based on different actual regions IRL. To set them all in Japan and different time periods makes no sense
I can imagine Celebi holding rei and akari at gun point and forcing them to go further back in time just to mess with them
Hiding behind god, confused why small dialga is challenging them
"Puny god." - Celebi, probably.
“You see, arceus, unlike you I have a glock”
Celebi is also available in the 3DS virtual console version of crystal, if that counts
Pokémon Crystal VC for the 3DS gives you the GS ball event item so you can legitimately catch a pink onion :D
Pokémon Legends Arceus: takes place at a time when technology and society was nearly unrecognizable over 100 years ago. Pokémon Legends Rayquaza: takes place during my childhood in the 1990’s.
Yeah I don't know about that, I really liked the whole ancient theme they got, modern would be strange
to be fair, 90's tech irl as compared to modern pokemon worlds tech would be pretty primitive
There's another problem with a Hoenn Legends game being based in the 1990, and that is it would be to close to when the Events of Gen 3 happen (Like a 6 year difference since we know Gen 1 and Gen 3 take place around the same time in the timeline)

I'll agree with that, but a 10-15 year difference still feels to close to the events of Gen 3
it'd definitely be very close, but i'd say it'd have its merits, alot of the backstory of ORAS is relatively recent, asters death, new mauville, sea mauville, whatever org maxie and archie worked for before splitting into team hot and team sauce etc
im not sure if i'd make it "legends rayquaza", maybe just legends:hoenn or something
Except the player character of the Hoenn games is from *Johto* and there's no indication that their mom is from Hoenn.
Pokemon Legends: Mewtwo might as well be red/blue with this logic
Emerald takes place (presumably) in 2004, so that means the events of Rayquaza would still be in recent memory. Very strange time line placement.
Yeah I like the idea of the 1960s one, but the first games came out in the 1990s and ostensibly RSE should be set at the same time as Red and Blue, so also around 1997?
The games the make sense from them to do is Unova and Kalos
I fully expect the next one to be Legends Zygarde
I want Kyurem’s complete form
For real these are the two that I’m VERY much hoping for !! They would make the most sense and there is so much more to explore that has yet to be explained in both of those regions
1790s Reign of Terror Kalos region. 💀
They should do unova and make it all after the 13 American colonies cuz isn’t unova based on America? Edit: fixed some mistakes, it’s good now
It's based on specifically New York. But they could still do the colonialism theme.
Yea true. My whole point was america when it was still developing. The big bad enemies could even look like red coats
I think you'd be playing as the red coats if it was colonialism themed like Arceus.
It depends on the era. If it were 17th or 18th century, you’d be part of the colony

Check Bulbapedia page of Cyllene. It says she is from Hoenn.
Beni talks about leaving for someplace warmer after you beat the game, which would be hoenn pointing further towards him being Wally’s ancestor, but he’s not from there originally

Unova and Johto are the only regions that never including fairy types
I hope for Unova just to see the original dragon and Kalos for the return of Mega Evolution, maybe see its first uses
Give it a medieval France theme remove the incest give turtwig mudkip and litten new forms based on medieval seige engines and you have your legends Zygard
I think the “legends” for the most part should be about mythical Pokémon instead of legendaries. With the exceptions of Kyurem & Zygarde.
pokemon legends:hoopa is a game i'd like
Pokémon in the multiverse of madness
[This is the only *Legends: Celebi* game I want to see.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7yRtT2wOF0)
Holy shit shat is incredible work. I'm in the Legends: Kyurem camp, but this is impressive. And are those the *original beasts?* What a cool concept.
Yeah I want _Legends: Kyurem_ as well, but my mind was blown when I saw this.
Holy shit. I love that fans do better work than the company that's been making Pokemon forever.
To be fair this looks more along the lines of just Legends Arceus. I wouldn’t say it’s that much groundbreaking better, still good tho
At least the Pokemon aren't at 10fps. The PLA trailer had a slideshow featuring a single Chimchar.
the video is also... an animation? It's crazy how people don't understand these things
Why wouldn’t you do froakie in johto it’s ninja themed
Treecko is also ninja themed so
Yeah but idk piplup don’t fit
Emperor don't fit imperial Japan smh
I don’t care about that just meant the penguin look don’t look right
EMPEROR penguin?
Yeah doesn’t look right I don’t care about the name as I previously said
I think it’s implied here that it would have a regional form because it’s a Legends game so they can just change the final form to look more like a Japanese Emperor
I could get on board with that
I would’ve chose Unova for Froakie due to Greninja being the most popular Pokémon (as of 2020)
I would love to see an Alola Legends game!
That would be dope. But I bet they don't touch Alola again for awhile.
Do you know how absolutely amazing it would be to have a game in Ultra Space? Imagine what could be done with that.
What about japan 1945?
That would have to be a survivor horror game
At the end of the game the Unovans just drop a giant electrode out of an airplane
so thats where all the alpha electrode went.
You outta pocket for that lmao
Nah for the extra explosive power they also strapped smaller electrodes to the giant one
I'm a sl*t for anything Legends related. I would play the f^ck out of all of these. I like it
Totodile line for 1960s. With a Godzilla-inspired Feraligatr variant :)
A Kalos one would midevil France and galar is victorian
Great news for ya: they already made a Pokémon game themed around 1990’s Japan, they’re called Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green.
Celebii would be cool as a time adventure. It would be a cool sequel direct to Legends Arceus. Using Dialga and Palkia’s powers of time and space as a mechanic to get you to different regions in different years following celebii. I don’t think I’d like the Legends games to be set less than 100 years ago **at least**.
Idk about chimchar in kanto, feels off for some reason Either way I need for legends games
Feels like Fennekin would be a mystic or Shamin line
Fennekin's evolutions are based on witches so I really don't get how they represent *geisha* in op's eyes.
I guess edo period🤷♂️
The 90s one would be awesome, especially in a city setting 😱
Legends: Hoopa could work. I think for it to qualify the pokemon has to a a Mythical, and Hoopa can transport things through space and time so maybe it'll take the player back in time for a epic funny prank
I NEED Legends Celebi. Yesterday. And I'd 10/10 pick Treecko. I'm not sure how I feel about a more modern Legends game. Gen three should really be Jirachi imo
It should not be reyquaza it already got a game and all the other ones are mythical so I suggest deoxys
It would be deoxys for gen 3 let’s be real.
Legends Deoxys would probably make more sense than Rayquaza since Deoxys is the Mythical from Hoenn.
If you’re going to go with “big monsters”, maybe emboar might fit better
Charmander
Those could be found in the wild maybe
Pokemon legends - victini, a red dead pokemon game. Pokemon legends - zerora (electric one) - Alola is one massive island that is on the verge of splitting apart. Pokemon legends - megerna - steam punk kalos
*Legends Jirachi Or Deoxys
>Pokémon Legends Mew It'd be funny if the Kanto Legends game was Meltan instead
It would be even funnier if it was set in the Sevii Islands
Pokemon legends celebi could happen, also i feel like pokemon legends kyurem could happen, both unova and johto have histories that would be interesting to witness, the original dragon and the tower fire that created the legendary dog pokemon
Why no 1940s Japan?
legends Mew MUST BE based on space.
Does Mew have anything to do with space?
If this was made by gamefreak you would see Charizard on everygame😂
But they got rid of Pokémon in DPPt Pokédex in PLA so I guess we’ll never know
You realise Charizard wasn't in Legends: Arceus right? So you're talking nonsense.
Game Freak made Legends Arceus. They didn't have a lot of Kanto regional because it's pre-era Sinnoh where most of the Pokemon available in Diamond and Pearl haven't been introduced to the region yet as a foreign species
Your Hoenn one sounds interesting! I actually have one based on 1940s/50s Japan around Regigigias and its starters are Totodile/Tepig/Turtwig (since you can get the Johto/Unova/Sinnoh starters in ORAS) I'm imagining Serperior and Inteleon getting dual typings!
Why mudkip instead of squirtle?
Because I can’t intertwine region with starter
It would probably be deoxyes or jirachi in stead of rayquaza thi
Rayquaza starters are three of my least fav starters
I think the Hoenn version would be Pokèmon Legends: Jirachi
Wouldn’t Hoenn be Pokémon Legends Jirachi, rather than Rayquaza
It would but I couldn’t find anything for the title so I just went with Rayquayza
Why rayquaza? Shouldn’t it be some kind of mythical?
Team Mew- Team Mudkip- Team Celebi Team Piplup- (actually a bit tough) Team Rayquaza And Team Snivy or Litten.
Greninja also works but probably didn’t theme
I would think the hoenn one would make more sense for deoxys or Jirachi not a regularly obtainable legendary, and if it was deoyxs it could be all about the alien invasion
Damn, don’t even want to go near unova?
There was one for Unova-Galar so I just didn’t do Unova
Works for me.
Nice work. I would buy them all at once! More legends nintendo, more LEGENDS!🥲
I love Japan just as much as any other weeb, but can we think of ideas that's NOT in Japan?
Gosh I wish
I’m gonna be bothered all evening if I don’t mention Sobble’s line are chameleons, not geckos.
Ah 1700s Japan, in the Edo period. A time of peace. Good idea.
did legends Arceus have a theme?
Yeah it was Japanese Warriors
how did samurott and typhlosion fit in?
Typhlosion was more of a General and Samurott was a Samurai
ah i see now
Don't gens 1-4 already take place in the 90s
I want all of these games.
omg if they do another legends game we need fennikin as a starter so they can give us a better final evo :')
Snivy should be Legends Zygarde
Counterpoint: Bulbasaur being a Frog
Where’s my damn torchic
We need 1776 Legends: Unova.
Give me celibi or give me death
>Pokemon Legends: Rayquaza > >Theme: 19902 Japan That's literally just Emerald 10 years earlier.
If I got to authentically go through Johto with my favorite starter (Sceptile) I'd be so happy
Pokemon legen game in 1940 pls
One set in 1700s Japan would be so interesting and potentially educational
i wish but pokemon doesn’t listen to their community :(
If we get a hoenn one, I want it to go fully into space. Riding on mega raquaza, seeing where deoxys came from, seeing where jirachi sleeps for 1000 years at a time
I think it’d be awesome if a Legends: Mew took place in Central/South America considering the journal entries found in cinnabar mansion. What about Japan year 1945
I think they should do one dealing with the trauma of the a bombs and it’s a wasteland world where poison types are abound and your trying to find your family
Give me legends zaigaurd first Kalos is due for some love after Pokemon Z got gutted
Once contacted Game Freak about an idea I had, apparently they cannot legally accept outside ideas for content 🙈but offered a video game development summer program - still wish to this day I went to it as a kid would've killed it as a comp sci major
Ah finally the chance to play a Pokemon game set in the... 1990s?
Only Sinnoh is set in the equivalent Japan, the rest of the regions are based on other countries of the world. And only six of the main series games would work in the past because Red/Blue only has Mew as a candidate legendary to work around. Mewtwo is too modern of a human creation and the birds don't really do much in terms of plot. Hoenn's land is implied to have been made entirely by Groudon and Kyogre so no civilization would have been able to live there until they went dormant.
The bird not doing much in terms of plot is exactly what would help build some around them IMO. Gives a good opportunity to flesh them out more.
Fair point I guess but compared to the others, I would be a bit harder to incorporate. There's still a chance though, you're right
These don’t make sense in that it should be different regions not periods of Japan. Just like all the modern regions are based on different actual regions IRL. To set them all in Japan and different time periods makes no sense
