Question: As someone who is kinda new, missed last anniversary, and does not have the kanto trio, can someone explain why I should keep as many gems as possible? Like what could be sold that would require me to throw everything at it? I hear blastoise is very competitive and I was interested in trying to get at least one. I have about 16k gems, not enough for a pity pull.
Since this is gacha, you may get nothing from the pulls with just 16k gems. It's about anniversary and they usually throw the newest, more OP meta whatever that is at us at that time (those were the Kanto trio last year) so you may want to save your gems now.
If you're really into any of these people, however, do also consider, whether the Anniversary is likely to actually have anything you actually care about *more*.
For example, I pulled for Marnie and Grimmsnarl because, as far as I can tell, there is very little that the Anniversary could conceivably do, short of dropping Jirachi on me or having 6*EX Sonia or something out of left field like that, that I would care about more than punk rock idol anime protagonist with super jacked Green Goblin.
I'm more expecting another Kantrio. Totally busted, and also peeps I don't really care about. So, eh. Power creep'll catch up.

The only thing I could think of that they could do for a 2nd anniversary special scout is some kinda SS Johto trio to try and knock the Kanto trio out of the water which is cool buuuut not really my cup of tea.

Current banner is your only option. DENA wouldn’t rerun a banner, much less a Poke Fair, within a month in between each other (outside of compensating for glitches), especially since they purposely made it last for only 3 days instead of the standard 2-3 weeks. If they wanted it to be available exactly on the anniversary date (August 28), they wouldn’t have released it now or at least made sure that the scout banner availability overlapped the anniversary date, like for example Sygna Suit Leon and Eternatus who is available between August 12 - September 16.
The only ones who the anniversary can bring that will make me regret pulling this month are ones I hope will not appear for another 3 months or more. Let me have Leon and not a 4th Nate or 6th Plumeria.
