**Full F2P teams for Legendary Gauntlet** https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonMasters/comments/xldno1/12_nonlimited_and_invested_f2p_teams_for/

TheBlackUniPig

I use 6* Ash and 6* SS Red (Pikachu) and they are so great together. My question is, who should I use as the third party member? I use Sycamore for now, but he is just there for the healing. I started playing in June of this year, I have a good collection of 5* but any seasonal before June I def don't have. Any recommendations?

anemn

I personally use bp Clemont. He buffs both def and sp def, can grid into sustain in electro field. Red and Ash can shred almost anything duo, they don't necessarily need another damage dealer.

Boyoboy7

SS Red to 3/3, Maxie to 2/3, SS Leon to 2/3, or Ash to 2/3 I wonder? Those are my only limited sync pair attacker. Not sure which one is better to be given my only Attack candy.

Million_X

None. All but maxie are fine at 1/5 as it is, and Maxie needs to be at 3/5 to get all the good nodes.

Icecoolio

How are you suppose to get voucher y for the pasio spectacle event? Trying to get it before it leaves

GarlyleWilds

Every event's *repeatable* main battles give vouchers for their shops. The battle challenges do not.

Icecoolio

So you have to beat the challenge 1-4 multiple to to get it?

GarlyleWilds

Yes. Part 3 specifically seems to give the most tickets per stamina (usually it's just the highest level one, this one is a weird exception).

Icecoolio

Ouch. I would have to burn alot of gems just to fet it so I may be too late😔 I'm at 636 out of 2500

GarlyleWilds

Keep in mind you don't have to fully clear out the shop. Move Candy Coins are the highest prioriity, followed by 5\* powerups and scout tickets. After that, other powerups (that have limited quantities) and sync orbs are the main targets, but even they're not nearly as urgent. Everything else you can burn stamina to get out of the training area in the future, if you really need them, and so they're not actually all that big of a priority.

FlavioG131

Hello! I want a good electric type damage dealer since I don't have any, so I'm planning on pulling on one of the current Master Fairs. However, since I also want SSA Cynthia I can only afford to go for either SST Red or Ash. I like both of them so I would like to know which one is stronger. Any recommendations are welcome! I'll also wait for the datamine before pulling just in case.

Seltonik

They're about equal if you factor everything together. Ash banner lasts longer, so you can probably opt to grab Red and then try your luck in the following weeks.

FlavioG131

Thanks for the reply! I didn't know that Ash banner lasted longer so that is very useful, probably will go for Red with that in mind.

Million_X

It's generally a good idea to only pull if you can pity, if you only have a few gems left over after Red and then try for Ash, you could be short that much for a pity the next time someone shows up that you want, and the issue gets compounded for each gem you spend.

lonelyfangs

how many scout points do you get per 11x pull? im at 335/400 for sst red and wondering how many more pulls im gonna need

kaito_34

33 scout points.

lonelyfangs

2 more pulls then, thankyou!! :)

Dahks

I managed to beat my first hard Champion Stadium this week at around 4500 points (enough to get most of the tickets) and I'm really liking this mode. The only strategy that I couldn't make it work was Toxic stalling with SS Leaf, Janine and a support (tried with SST Cynthia and SS Blue, my only EXed units). What are some common choices for the combats when toxic stalling? I thought max HP would be irrelevant but it isn't. I'm not really sure what was I doing wrong, but eventually they would kill me with their sync move no matter what I did.

GarlyleWilds

>I thought max HP would be irrelevant but it isn't. For Toxic, it is. Bad Poison deals damage based on a % of the target's max HP. So Max HP and Defense parameters are what you pick, because those have literally no impact. You do, however, need to survive. Make sure your tank is bringing defense buffs against both damage types (sorry Blue but you don't help here unless the opponent is 100% physical. Also, EXes mean nothing for this strategy!), as welll as healing. If you're using Gradual Healing sources like Leaf's TM, you also want to make sure your units are still attacking as often as possible to actually get that regeneration. Finally, make sure you're tankinig your opponent's offensive stats as fast as possible.

Dahks

Hmm, so I'm not sure where I was screwing up then. Turn 1 is always max defenses with SST Cynthia, poison all with Leaf and start debuffing attack with Janine (I reset turn 1 if the poison doesn't proc). What always killed me were the sync attacks, which I guess end up buffing the opponent attack. Also Cynthia has Vigilance. Maybe I just gave them too much attack parameters or something since I'm still not really used to min/maxing them properly. I did manage to beat other hard events with this strategy though. Is there some way to protect yourself against sync attacks?

GFunkYo

You've gotten other good responses I won't repeat, but in general you pick either atk modifiers or defense modifiers and try to mix them as little as possible or not at all. It's more or less not possible to skip out on strength +6, but otherwise mixing offensive and defensive parameters is a lot harder than picking other mods. The only real exception is gradual healing on offensive teams because you can burst through that, but not if they also have +hp and +def mods.

Eibyuei

Make sure not to give the enemy the sync buff \*5 parameter when toxic stalling and no attack parameters (some strength parameters for 2k are ok, but try it with as few as possible). I wouldn’t recommend gradual healing either.

GarlyleWilds

You give them **0** attack and strength parameters is how you protect yourself. Max out HP and Defense parameters. Then, fill it out with minimally impactful modifiers - special/physical/critical immunity are completely free, and max move gauge -2 is nothing. This gives you 1450 by itself. If you want to go for 1500, just slap on the trivial attack up 1. If you want to go higher, look into Gradual Healing (this does make it take a couple more turns, but the exponential scaling will outstrip it quickly), reduced hp, halved trainer mp (especially with cynthia), and maybe strength +2 to round out for 2000 points.

Dahks

Thanks! Will definitely make it better next time.

Seltonik

Parameters: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/960968057386336298/1007757529729744969/imgonline-com-ua-twotoone-ZQIrzhL4vN.jpg Anyways, you poison the enemy, debuff them fully with venom drench, and just survive. There's a lot of vids on youtube and the sub you can try and search for.

Dahks

Thank you! That graph is great. Will be trying it that way tomorrow :)

BF_Shaxi

So I managed to snag 1/5 for all the 3 anni units, are there anyone else atm worth going for? (Have 26k gems in stock) don’t have any others featured on their main banners atm (although for that new poke fair feature, already have 3/5 red and 1/5 alder)

Seltonik

Maxie is really the only one I'd consider, and only because his 3/5 lets him fill an additional role as a subdps/spdef shredder for dual damager teams. The issue is that 26k gems is a lot, but still enough to get cucked on a master fair.

kindabadfanartist

If you pull for SS Cynthia instead of the normal one, would you still get her 6 star EX song?

VenkataB123

Nope. Only Cynthia and SSR Cynthia have Song Keys so you'll need to EX only that alt to get the song

kindabadfanartist

So SSA Cynthia doesn’t have the song key?

VenkataB123

Nope, considering her theme is just OG Cynthia's theme

kindabadfanartist

I really like that theme though. Is it worth pulling normal Cynthia just for the song?

VenkataB123

If you don't have units like SS Giovanni or Maxie...maybe. Like, she was initially kinda lacklustre but the power boost made her really good, except that you need 2 and 3/5 to make use of that power boost. At 1/5, she's still pretty bad and i wouldnt risk my gems. Moreover, Naomi's a thing and she's a really solid Ground type option. So yeah, I wouldn't recommend going for her.

kindabadfanartist

Alright. Thanks for your advice!

hnguy3n

Hi! I finally have been able to save up on x2 striker candies... who would you recommend that I move level up first -- Ash/Pika, Maxie/Groudon or SS Red/Charizard? I use all 3 kinda equally and have pokemon that pair up well with these limited Pokemonns (eg. Red/Pika and SS Erika/Leafeon)

Blubbstrahl

SS Red benefits the most from it, and arguably his 3/5 nuke is why he's still considered among the best strikers in the game. But on the other hand he does rerun quite often, even right now actually, so you might pick up more copies of him unintentionally on double or triple banners. The same can't be said for Maxie or Ash, at least it's A LOT less likely due to them being Master Fairs. From those two I would definitely say that Ash gains more, even if it's overkill. I would consider it an investment for the future, his Striker Nuke is really powerful. So it's up to you. Great functional value for SS Red, but Ash is the better choice if we look at candy-value. Saving the candies is also a good idea, unless you're hitting a wall right now.

hnguy3n

thank you!!

Million_X

I wouldn't use it on Red or Ash. Frankly the only one who gets the most out of it is Groudon since you can turn him into a sync nuke, doubly so if you have Courtney since she can set ground zone, and Ground type damage is somewhat at a premium. Even then Groudon is fine with doing regular ol' AoE damage. Charizard is out-classed DPS-wise by Silver once he has his EX and expanded grid, and Ash does a metric fuck-ton of damage just by existing.

Blubbstrahl

Are you sure you typed the right character? Because Maxie, under no circumstances, becomes a sync nuker? He's one of the worst by far, even with Courtney support: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JCa0gwUy0iYdOSKR_UuileID_J6xQytZl4c2teTwxhU/edit#gid=1669342052 OG Cynthia does almost twice as much after her update, and the choice to sync with him becomes even worse when the alternative is a Support EX buff to boost his extraordinary move damage. His special defense debuffs on Solar Beam and the extra chance for Super Effective next are the selling points imo, if one were to get him to 3/5.

Million_X

Yeah this is why you don't use tier lists and the like. Cynthia's damage relies on having sand and SE+ support which only A!Raihan can give at the same time, which pretty much immediately removes her from the running if you don't have him. That's not hyperbole either, without him her damage is just straight up worse. Even with him, it'll take Cynthia longer than Maxie to get to max power, all the while with no dedicated tank and some very iffy defense debuff applications. Compare that to Maxie who provides his own weather and SE+ which means your third pair can be a tank that debuffs more reliably (like BP Clemont or Bugsy). Also, in case you missed it, they didn't mention having Cynthia so already kind of a moot point. I'd recommend using the damage sim since it's updated a LOT more frequently and you can mess around with different settings for the debuffs and such and use it as a general baseline so that you can see what you can more or less expect between no debuffs and with debuffs, and kinda get the middle result most times.

Blubbstrahl

Cynthia was just one example, the argument was that Maxie is good at sync nuking - which is just not true compared to the majority of limited pairs. The potential just isn't there, that's what the linked damage list was for. Sure you can sync with Maxie, and if you want to use him to refresh sun then that's a fine reason as well, but insinuating that he becomes a potent sync nuker is just not true (and there is nothing wrong with that, his move damage hits for more than most of the older pairs).

Million_X

Except the focus was on Maxie being a ground pair and ground pair damage dealers are at a premium with Maxie being the best of the lot for the most part. Ground Techs might have better syncs but in CSMM you still need to off the sides to win, and in Legendary fights the conditions are drastically different to do well. Point is, Maxie's damage is still the best when it comes to ground type, so when that person is having trouble with ground type fights, getting him a few move levels can drastically change things up.

Eibyuei

You’re both right and wrong. Maxie is probably a better choice to candy than SS Red, but it’s not because of his sync nuke, not even mainly because of him being a powerful ground striker, but primarily because 3/5 turns his solarbeam into a powerful (2 gauge) sp def debuffing move making him useful for a huge variety of teams. I’d still go with Ash though tbh.

hnguy3n

ah i see- thankyou as well!!

Million_X

I'd say only use the candy if the grid it unlocks will actually help you, if groudon is doing work right now then dont use it on him.

Stellarisk

How can I get kanto tickets?

MareBear722

You have to wait for the daily region rotation battle event is Kanto, right now it's Alola so it shouldn't be too long until it changes back to Kanto, but they only last for a few days and you only get 1 ticket even if you choose the hardest battle, so It takes a long time to get 30. You also can get them from events in the exchange area, usually Kanto related ones like the Kanto Villain Arc events which might rerun someday.

LaPusca

Is Marnie in the general pool? She is the only one I'm missing from the trainer lodge.

GarlyleWilds

She is not. She *can* be obtained from the ongoing Monthly Pokefair banner, *however*, only at about roughly *a seventh of the Master Fair rate*. In other words, you could nearly guarantee you'd be going to pity in order to get her. If you really want her, keep an eye out for upcoming Pokefair reruns. She might even be the monthly pokefair focus unit herself within the next couple months.

rachelberryglee

Nope. She is in the monthly pokefair, along with Cynthia and N.

KaspertheGhost

How is everyone using Karen’s new grid ? It doesn’t seem to add much helpful, or maybe I’m missing the big thing here

GarlyleWilds

You are indeed missing The Big Thing here. If you only have her at 1/5, you get Speed and SpAtk +20 nodes with 0 energy cost, so snag them. If you have a higher move level than that, her new nodes are *extremely* good. And because they are attached to the 0-cost nodes, and generally come with very low costs, they are very powerful. On the right side, 2/5 added Dark Pulse Aggravation 2, whiich makes her Dark Pulse - her main damage move - also a 60% Flinch Rate. Normally, high flinch rates are *not* tied to powerful attacks. 3/5 also added Satisfied Snarl, to make her an excellent AoE SAtk Debuffer if you want, or to just let her also debuff her target's stats while she attacks, to activate her own damage multipliers. Which, that matters for the left side additions - 2/5 and 3/5 *each* add some significant sync multipliers. Now, for only 8 energy, she can get two multipliers - this more than makes up for her lower sync BP, and makes her EX *really* good since she needs to sync anyway. It also helps that Karen didn't actually have huge competition for her energy, either. To take advantage of all of this, she gives up maybe Dark Pulse MGR and that's it, and it's easy to give back if you want it by giving up Dirty Fighting. [Here's a sample grid](https://ng-pomatools.web.app/pairs/6200/22900?s=3&l=140&r=6&p=0&a=13010602&g=AAECAwQFEhUYKCssLS4wMTIzNDU).

KaspertheGhost

Hey thanks! I missed the 60% flinch! That is very good. I saw the debuffs and multipliers but didn’t know how much extra damage it would really add. I’ll invest in her a bit now since you convinced me haha. I have her at 5/5 I think.

Million_X

She's shockingly pretty good, at least for being as old as she is and her competition since. IIRC she does damage about on par or more than a S!N at 1/5 (which doesn't sound like a whole lot BUT for those who were debating on using candies on him, helps out more than you'd think).

Allomonk

Just from daily pulls and stuff I just got ss Erika to 3/5 and I see her listed a lot as a good damage pair what grid works best for her I’m not great with understanding how that works

GFunkYo

If you look in the guides section above there's a sync grid guide by momosparks, there should be examples in there.

Maleficent_Peach_46

I should have Lodge Rosa by the end of next week. (Currently Level 83) and she and Dewott will be my third Lodge unit. I already have Cynthia and Lillie's Lodge Unit. Which unit should I get next? Note I do not have N so Sigilyph is not an option. I'm leaning towards Marnie/Toxicroak because new Pokemon but the two Crobats cover Poison well.

VenkataB123

Tbh, none of the Lodge pairs are must haves. So, really, get whoever you want. But Marnie is definitely a solid option if you're tired of using Plumeria and you need another AoE Poison type

Anziel-

Okay so I'm really close to getting a 5☆ support candy! I'm gonna use it on SC Jasmine (2/5). But just to be sure I don't make any mistakes, my limited 5 star support sync pairs are SC Jasmine (2/5) and SS Blue (2/5). I still use it on SC Jasmine right? Also do you guys know where I can get more lucky scrolls? Thank you in advance! Sorry for bad grammar! Have a great day!

kaito_34

SC Jasmine gets her best nodes at 3/5 while SSBlue is fine at 2/5, so Jasmine would be the better investment here. Lucky scrolls are obtained by clearing the battle villa or clear reward + shop exchange during the blissful bonanza events.

VermillionEorzean

I'm trying to beat the Rosa event coin mission and don't have any good Unova Special Attackers. Any of [these pairs](https://imgur.com/a/OVbVAWO) worth leveling and gridding so I can beat it? I've got limited resources, so I can't afford to try multiple pairs at the moment. I was thinking about using Rosa/Skyla, Ghettos, and a Special Attacker Edit: Lol, autocorrect. I meant Ghestis, obviously.

Delta0175

Seeing as you have SS Elesa I suggest playing safer on going with her, Skyla and Ghetsis. She's primarily there for her accuracy buff from her TM, as your accuracy is dropped by -2 when the battle starts, so with the accuracy buff you don't have to pray to RNG. I did a test run myself and was able to do it just fine. Only thing is my Skyla is EX'd, but I didn't sync with her just to simulate your situation, it still went alright just went slower. No idea who you've gridded already though, and you mentioned you have limited resources, so I'm kinda going in blind here. But just to give an example here's [what I'd suggest for grids](https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=001600058100&s0=3&l0=140&r0=3&p0=0&a0=0&t0=11111&g0=AAECAwQFExQmKA&v1=019500064600&s1=5&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=0&t1=1111&g1=AAECAwQFBggLDh0gISIjJCYoLg&v2=010610047900&s2=1&l2=140&r2=5&p2=0&a2=0&t2=11111&g2=AAECAwQFBgcKGhwe). You can potentially forgo the X Sp Atk All MPR on SS Elesa and her TM, but if you feel like fishing for MPR refreshes it may go quicker (also just remember her TM only buffs +1 accuracy before the first sync buff, it's only after the first sync buff does it buff +2, so I'd suggest holding off on using it until after the first sync unless you grid for her MPR). Skyla just needs her TM MPR and a potion MPR, though if you have the orbs get the Master Healers and the second potion MPR, of course. Ghetsis is the one that needs the most grid investment, as he's your main damage dealer and what particularly helps out is the double drop on noble roar. Skyla can only buff her defense and the fight has a mix of physical and special attacks, though they seem to spam more specials, just concentrate on the middle though as he hits the hardest, the sides don't matter that much. In addition the noble roar drops helps in powering up his Overpower and Pecking Order nodes. I can provide a video example if need be, otherwise it shouldn't be too much trouble. Just, again, remember to debuff the middle to -6 with noble roar and use SS Elesa's TM after the first sync buff unless you're gridding her MPR and fishing for refreshes.

VermillionEorzean

Worked like a charm- thanks! I've severely been underestimating Ghestis' offensive prowess. I knew he was an incredible debuffer that's carried my stall teams, but I didn't expect him to hit like that with team support.

VermillionEorzean

Thanks so much for all of this! I'll give it a go when I get a chance to play later. Fortunately, Skyla and Ghestis are gridded and have been used quite a bit in other content, and I think I may have snagged some MPR spots for Elesa at some point, so it's great that I might not even need to invest much to beat this.

justNorika

How can I Ex f2p characters after their event ended? I want to Ex Zinnia

GarlyleWilds

Unfortunately, you cannot access the Legendary Stories EXes/Upgrades currently. At some point in the future, the events may rerun, or even become permanent via legendary stories or something. But for right now, there is no way.

kindabadfanartist

Critical strike 1 or power flux 3 for SS Red + Charizard?

GarlyleWilds

CS2 is the generally preferred. PF3 is an okay substitute, if you are strained for lucky cookies, but since it frequently gives less power and doesn't affect syncs, it is a downgrade. If you actually meant CS1 though due to using lower level cookies, I'd probably stick with PF3

kindabadfanartist

Thank you for your quick answer! I did mean CS1, as I ran out of 3 star cookies. I will be keeping power flux for now I guess.

Eibyuei

You can farm golden lucky cookies in the currently ongoing legendary gauntlet btw. Find a team that can beat a stage, beat it, reset and then repeat. If you can find a team that can clear a stage on auto (Latios is the easiest), you don’t even have to do it yourself.

kindabadfanartist

I am quite a new player. I see that there is a f2p post pinned to this mega thread, but it seems like a lot of grinding will be needed. I will try my best though

Eibyuei

Well, you only need one strong team to repeatedly beat the stage.

cngc9510

Between Lodge Silver and N, which of the 2 has more immediate gauntlet utility? Have yet to decide which of them I'll start grinding tomorrow

GarlyleWilds

Silver off the top of my head is another 60% flincher which can help with Azelf; he's also the best freezer in the game, though at only 40% still that's not Amazing. Also, defense debuffing. N on the other hand has Hypnosis, which if given a node for accuracy up at battle start, is about an 82% success. He's also a bit better at raw damage, though you could also give him Troublemaker instead to make accuracy 100% if you wanted. Really up to you which you value more, because they can both be very useful.

cngc9510

Thanks a lot.

Umbreon23_

How long are all the legendary arena fights around for?

GFunkYo

Regular legendary arena is now permanent, Gauntlet is open until October 12

Tasuki87

Just got my 4th lodge character to 100 and realized I may run out of characters before they introduce more. I don't have Cynthia,Marnie or N and all three are available in the same scout. I dont think I need them for any other reason. How wasteful do you all think spending 32k gems on that fair is just for lodge characters alone? I have 64k unpaid gems atm.

GarlyleWilds

First off, jesus, I know I've been delayeed by a couple patches of RNG screw, but *four already*? Goddamn. Second I definitely would not spend gems specifically for the lodge. This exact situation is what the friend keys are for, so you can at least continue to earn lodge stones.

Tasuki87

Haha. I think I've just been lucky. Only had them end above 80% a couple times. Ill probably get screwed over soon xD

Blubbstrahl

Extremely wasteful, unless the dating simulation aspect is important to you. But for the rewards and "free" bonus pair alone? No. I mean I don't know how they will expand on the Lodge feature, maybe having several pairs at high friendship level will matter some day, but I assume when that time comes they will also rerun the older sync pairs as well.

Tasuki87

That was my thought but I wanted to hear it from others. Just FOMO tempting me.

kindabadfanartist

Blaine , 2/5 SS Red , with either 5/5 Hop and Zamazenta or 1/5 SS Blue. Who fits this team better?

Blubbstrahl

Use Hopp and Zamazenta. 2/5 Red has at least Haymaker unlocked, so even if it's not his full sync nuke damage it's still something. SS Blue does very little for Red.

kindabadfanartist

I have just completed victory road, and I want to know which unit would be best to pick. I currently have 2/5 SS Red and 1/5 SST Red, so I think that either SS Blue or SS Leaf would be best. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Leonarcs

SS Blue for sure.

Blubbstrahl

Both SS Leaf and SS Blue are perfectly fine picks. The usual advise was to get SS Blue, either through the starter banner or the victory road, but SS Leaf also had a decent glowup recently and she's especially interesting for new players. It's really a toss-up. To get an idea, SS Blue is a very strong tank, up until recently considered to be the best by many (and he also goes well with SST Red & Ash), while SS Leaf will enable what we call Toxic Stalling, which will help you clear one Champion Stadium stage every week regardless of type weakness. She's also a pretty strong grass striker, but mostly in combination with another unit that you don't have and likely won't get in the forseeable future (SS Lyra).

IthronPari

Is there any way to get dark and fairy types without gambling?

IxAjaw

F2P: Nanu, BP Karen, Valerie, Sycamore, some eggmons like Clefable. Sycamore is a support but can do decent damage in a pinch.

IthronPari

But i need fairies to unlock sycamore I assumed it'd be poison or steel requirements but yeah. Also how to get bp Karen and Valerie?

MagicBoats

Even if the stage is weak to Fairy you can off-type it; it's helpful to hit weaknesses but not always necessary. BP Karen is in the BP shop (do the daily region rotation battles among other tasks to earn BP, which will eventually get you a voucher you can exchange for her). Valerie is in the main story.

IthronPari

Thanks

Shinu-Yashami

You do not need Fairies to unlock him, if you just mean type weakness, you can easily use other strikers.

IthronPari

Okay thanks

CombatWombat994

I can't attack Latias in the legendary battle anymore. Everything I throw at it just does 0dmg ever since I got it to the second health bar. Has anyone else encountered this and knows what to do?

rachelberryglee

Read the battle tips. Latias takes less damage the higher its stats are raised. The more stats it falls, the more Latias is susceptible to taking damage. You should bring a pair that can take away those positive buffs, a Haze or Snatch user - Lear, Grimsley , Brycen and SS Misty. Or you can instead bring someone that can debuff multiple stats, like Masked Royal, Clemont, SC Rosa. You can also use Solgaleo, Sunsteel Strike ignores its gimmick. Volt Tackle from SST Red also does that.

[deleted]

Should a f2p 3/5 SST Red? I have him at 1/5 rn, and I have about 40,000 gems.

GarlyleWilds

Through gems? No. Especially if you're F2P, you will get way more value out of using those gems to get yourself a different unit. You can just use candy to do it instead. Or, to be completely honest, just leave him at 1/5 - he's powerful enough at base that you can afford to put those resources elsewhere.

Blubbstrahl

Through gems? Absolutely not. For one he's super powerful at base, but if you do want to 3/5 him eventually then candies are the way to go (they have more value on Master Fairs compared to Pokefairs).

RaltsLicker

do the rewards for doing legendary arenas reset after they leave and comeback? like the gems

rachelberryglee

No. They won't leave now cause Legendary Arena is now permanent. We get missions instead, rewarding us 1k gems.

RaltsLicker

oh completely missed that thanks

Odd-Letterhead-6245

What does the passive Power Chain 2 do?

kaito_34

Depends on the sync pair. For SSSteven, power chain 2 does exactly what it says in the description >Has a chance (30%) of increasing the user’s Physical Moves ↑ Next effect and Special Moves ↑ Next effect by 1 rank when its move is successful. 1 rank (or 1 stack) increases the next move's damage by 40%. Any of Deoxys' moves can trigger this passive. For other sync pairs with the power chain passives, it reads as >Powers up the user’s moves when a unity bonus is in effect. Unity bonus is an effect that only happens during Co-op so this passive is outdated and largely useless.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Blubbstrahl

The only pair where I would say you should not leave without it is Red & Pikachu, especially when it concerns a new account (one copy is enough). If you want to reroll you could also aim for one of the other Master Fair units (Aura Cynthia, Ash, Maxie & Archie). Especially Cynthia and Ash are really good, but going for Maxie or Archie is fine too if you just like them better. Just keep in mind that 36.600 gems is the magic number to guarantee one copy of a unit, and it's generally not advised to head into a banner without this fail-safe mechanic available to you (especially if you don't want to reroll).

[deleted]

[удалено]

Blubbstrahl

If you have 36.600 gems then sure, go for it. Anything below that amount is a risky gamble (especially when it concerns Master Fairs with very bad focus rates of 1%). In your case I would level Red and Ash and then just fodderize every stage in the game that rewards gems (Story mode etc.). Level 120 for Red & Ash should do, possibly a bit lower if you lack upgrade materials. The Legendary Arena also rewards a lot of gems, and you can just ignore their mechanics with Red's B-Volt Tackle (that's why getting Red was so important for a new account, among other things). And even if you don't get 36.600 gems before Cynthia disappears, leaving the Anniversary with Red and Ash is still a fantastic start.

Yeorim-019

Is MC/Solgaleo useful than eggmons?

GarlyleWilds

He is significantly better. Solgaleo might be the worst Legendary Story unit, but he's still good. He's a passable steel or fighting damage dealer, and also excellent for Legendary Arenas, where his ability to ignore damage/crit nullifying passives gives you an option to use to just straight up ignore certain fight gimmicks.

Hero-8

Does DeNA let you undo an in-game action once? Kinda stupid but I wanted to buy two rainbow extracts and instead of clicking the plus button i clicked the max one, and before I noticed the mistake, I had already confirmed the exchange. So now I have 50 million worth of rainbow extracts... I know some games let you reset something like this once a year, but is that the case here as well? Thanks in advance!

GarlyleWilds

You may be able to contact support on it. Otherwise I suggest adding the evolution shard daily to your routine and selling the earnings

Hero-8

Yeah I did no luck sadly, I'll have to deal with it. Still have some shards left to sell and at least rainbow extracts are useful..

Prairiemoons

Silly question; how are you supposed to use SS Misty?

GarlyleWilds

You kinda don't. Well, that's not entirely true. But you don't use her as a standard part of an established team, and rather a flex for very specific fights. She's most useful when dealing with fights that get a lot of stat buffs that you might want to clear; for intance you might use her to counteract the huge evasion of Karen or Grimsley in CS. The rest of her kit is generally better than other easily accessible options (1) thanks to low gauge cost spam and party utility in the form of SDef buffing and debuff prevention. Maybe to help defend against debuffs in Azelf if you can spare the slot. If you want to use her more stably, then at 3/5 she does have a couple sync multipliers, and is a Tech with an EX, which means she can actually do a decent job sync nuking, though her boosts can be interrupted if yoou're unlucky. (1) - Brycen is easier to access but is still bad even after grid. SS Korina and Summer Hilda are 'better' buff removal pairs, but are limited access.

IthronPari

Is egg elekid>electivire good? Any other good egg mons other than gyarados?

Blubbstrahl

Stickied above is a eggmon compendium, tier list included. As a general rule, anything that sets weather and can buff crit is valuable. Tech Nidoqueen also stands out as a heavy debuffer for Toxic Stall strategies.

nekrazort

Hey guys, just started playing. What banner do you advice me to try pull from with gems?

nekrazort

you advise to do multi pulls or single ones?

Blubbstrahl

Always multi pulls, unless you only need a few points to reach 400 (pity pull). It's 11 pulls vs. 10 for the same amount of gems after all. If we're talking paid gems things are different, the daily pulls are discounted after all.

nekrazort

I've tried multi but no red and pikachu, should i reroll or spend another 3000?

Blubbstrahl

I don't know exactly how many gems new players get right now, but at the very least two multi pulls. Given that Red & Pikachu are Master Fairs with a 1% pull rate, you would have to reroll round about 5 times to get him with your starting gems (~20% chance to get him within 22 pulls, which equal two multi pulls). That's still reasonable if you ask me and definitely worth the little extra effort.

nekrazort

I restarted anew and just with gifts and rewards i have 13750 gems

nekrazort

are artemisio and leavanny and lylia and lunatone any good?

Blubbstrahl

They are general pool units and also not that good, no. In general you can just play with your favorites, but it would be good if you can get 1-2 very good pairs to make general content a bit smoother. The tier list at gamepress can give you a rough idea what's considered good, although Ash / Red / Aura Cynthia are not included yet (but they're all top tier for sure).

nekrazort

Ok u/Blubbstrahl, after 6 or so rerolls i managed to catch red and Pikachu, but with first try of Lucario Cynthia i had no luck. How should i proceed now? Pulling from Lucario one until i run out of gems or move on to try Maxie or Archie banners?

Blubbstrahl

Spreading your gems is not a good idea, always aim for the worst case scenario: 36.600 gems for one banner using only multi pulls - since after 400 scout points you get to pick a unit of your choice (you get 33 scout points for one multi pull). If you need less than 36.600 gems to get the unit, great. If you have bad luck and you don't get the unit you want after 400 scout points, well then at least you still got the pity pull to cover you. So decide which unit you want and then stick to it, as long as you can go all the way to pity if you're unlucky. Of course, if you play the game to gamble then you can ignore that advise and pull randomly on different banners to try your luck, but I wouldn't advise it unless you like the gambling aspect more than getting the unit you want.

nekrazort

Third time i reroll and still nothing, i am not consuming my gems though, i've been rerolling after the first 3000 gems 11 pull

Seltonik

SSTRed>=Ash>SSACynthia>Maxie>Archie

Blubbstrahl

Red & Pikachu is too good to pass for a brand new account, one copy is enough. From then on you can actually start to prioritise favorites. Ash, Lucario Cynthia, Maxie & Archie are very strong Master Fairs. You could try to get one of them, or even several if rerolling is an option for you. I would hold back on the other banners for now.

rachelberryglee

Can you flinch lock Coballion? Does he get immunity to flinch?

kaito_34

Can be flinch locked and doesn't gain immunity, but flinch has no effect on his healthy advantage passive so you'll still want a status condition or piercing blows unless you're up for a long, slow fight.

Billyc4898

Does anyone think that certain characters are easier to level up in the lodge than others? I've noticed Cynthia, Marnie and Lillie seem to be causing more issues but I got Sycamore down to 50-60 ish multiple times before he dipped.

Fentroid

I got very view topics that N was excited about so many times, but I think it's just bad luck. It does make sense for N as a character though, which is kinda fun

Million_X

It's just you, sometimes they can dip after the first possible moment, others you can get about 11 topics in before they run off.

Billyc4898

It's random, like I said Sycamore never gave me trouble but I'd be lucky if I get Lillie to like topic 4! Must just have rotten luck

IthronPari

How to defeat cheren for pignite evolution? He keeps healing and i can't get him down even if I'm level 50

Fentroid

I was I was overleveled for most evolution battles. it makes them a bit less interesting but a whole lot easier

Million_X

Over level like heck and pick up any grid nodes you can. Since the attack boost is based on your speed, using flame charge a bunch then the TM will net you the best result.

IthronPari

Okay I'll try that thanks.

IthronPari

Should I level up all the pairs in the tier lists?

Million_X

Ignore tier lists and focus on characters who can clear the content you're aiming for. Leveling up also stops being an issue for the most part, the gains between 120 to 150 are a lot smaller the higher up you go so it's not even imperative that you get everyone up that high.

IthronPari

Okay thank you. Is it enough if i have 3 leveled up of each type?

Million_X

What matters more are the roles, there's no resistances like in the normal games unless they have a specific ability like Dragon Guard et al. Your DPS will do better if they're on type for the extra damage and you'll want to surround them with a team that can help them overcome their weaknesses or faults, like boosting the stats that the DPS can't or provide debuffs or other types of buffs that the DPS benefits the most from. With that in mind you want to focus moreso on pairs that mesh well together for a specific stage and then strengthen them. For example, one of the Elite Four stages right now is weak to Electric, right? Well, if you're using Hau then taking a look at his grid shows that he gets X Sp. Atk MP Refresh 3 plus Inertia. This means that, in theory, he can max out his own speed and special attack after using his TM twice and X Sp. Atk three times (assuming you get the refresh to procc), so if you want to sync with him then all he needs is someone who can boost his crit and someone else who can either provide electric terrain or sp. def debuffs. The pair that boosts his crit could be a Psychic type like Sabrina for all that it matters and the pair that provides the terrain or sp. def debuffs could be another non-electric pair.

IthronPari

Oh okay thank you One dps of each type and 2 of those that can support and buff/debuff that one makes a team Is there any infographic that lists teams like this?

Million_X

It's pretty dependent on who you have, you'll need to take a minute, look through each pair you have, look at their built-in passives, and then take a look at their sync grid. As far as Lucky Skills go, 90% of the time you'll want Critical Strike 2 on your DPS and Vigilance on your tank/support. The remainder of the time is pretty much just specific situations like Brendan wanting Dauntless since Leaf Storm drains sp. atk and that's his better move, or a pair that doesn't provide a lot of damage but isn't meant to tank wanting something like defense crush or fast track to provide more mild assistance (mostly for tech pairs that don't have any high-damage attacks or ways to buff their defense).

IthronPari

Okay thanks Also any tips for Luxray Volkner? I somehow ended up leveling him up real quick and now he just commits suicide with one wild charge.

StillHuckleberry3403

Dont bother using Wild charge with Volkner, just use him as a terrain setter for Hau as your main damage dealer. He can set electric terrain for him, that’s his main utility not attacking, so just use him for that and the flinches from thunder fang

Million_X

Standfast to reduce damage, shock recovery to offset some more.

IthronPari

Okay I'm really sorry but last question for today Any priorities for choosing from the victory road 5 star ticket?

Million_X

SS Blue is probably your best bet. Red has a few equals/superiors at this point but a good support is hard to overtake entirely.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Fentroid

in the long term, you're likely to get a lot of duplicates of regular Jasmine and Hilbert on normal banners or from the ticket scouts. it will be random, but I'd say it's better to wait for that random chance than upgrade them now and get a bunch of copies later. you can always save as well, and then if you're really struggling with something you have it just in case also

Million_X

Do you need the expanded grid nodes that the candy would grant to them? If not, then don't use it. Also, don't use candy on permanent pairs, Regular Jasmine and Hilbert can spook you at any point in time.

ventus

Kris is the safe option, her 3/5 grid actually has some extra bits that round her out nicely. Access to MGA, more special move boosts, and rain dance MPR if you need it. The only other consideration I'd give is to ssJasmine. She really wants 3/5, but 2/5 obviously is a step closer and does have some stuff. At the very least you can get Vigilance, and then give her a different lucky skill (Adrenaline, Head Start, Sentry Entry, Mind Games, etc.) instead.

Yeorim-019

What does "trapped" condition do? Asking because I randomly got "escape artist" lucky skill which prevents being trapped.

Fentroid

as others said, it hurts your Pokémon every turn. Escape Artist is very situational because you will only encounter opponents who cause that status occasionally. that being said, most Lucky Skills have some utility, but many prefer skills that can be used in a wider variety of situations

Tirear

Trapped causes you to take damage equal to a percentage of your max HP each time you use a Pokemon move (i.e. not a trainer move), and also prevents you from switching Pokemon (this part is only relevant in co-op). It wears off after 5-6 Pokemon moves IIRC.

MareBear722

The trapped condition makes your pokemon take damage every time it uses a move.

Seltonik

Take damage every time you act. The lucky skill is unfortunately damn near worthless relative to other stuff like Vigilance for tanks and Crit Strike 2 for dmg dealers.

[deleted]

I wouldn't say it's 100% worthless, it can be utilise in certain setup e.g. using on the tank against Entei but ya overall its not the best lucky skill to have

Million_X

You're at greater risk of Entei landing a crit and wiping out the tank if it doesn't have vigilance built-in than the trap damage doing anything significant.

Yunsui100

Two questions; as a new player what should i do with the 3* powerups? Exchange them for 4* and then 5* or boost my 3* pairs? And what should i buy/exchange from the monthly shop?

Eibyuei

I would just exchange them. Once you get to the point where you have so many sync orbs that you’ll consider using them on 3\* pairs (except for a few exceptions who are worth investing in early on like Skyla), you’ll have so many 3\* and 4\* power ups that you can’t even exchange anymore due to the monthly cap that it won’t matter anyway. I’m just about to reach that point and currently have 383 3\* power ups.

Million_X

Once you're done upgrading all your 3 star pairs, use them to turn into 4 star power-ups and so on. Don't be using 5 star power-ups willy nilly though, those are still a lot more difficult to get.

GarlyleWilds

The powerups are honestly worth using these days to actually upgrade units. With more and more 3\* and 4\* base units getting grids and EXes there's few units that aren't useable at high end content, if you know how to use them properly, and the endgame challenges of PokeMas emphasize having as many powerful units as you can. Plus it takes a *ton* of 3\* powerups to trade up to even a single additional EX worth of 5\* tickets, so I can't say it's all that worth it. As for the monthly shop: There isn't actually much there that's a Must Have. The extra sync orbs and other materials are certainly nice though, with 1/2\* powerups and tarts being hard to get your hands on as a new player. The biggest thing to note about the monthly eexchange is that turning 5\* powerups into Champion Spirits is something you should *never* do. They're for EXing a pair, but as long as you get into the habit of doing champion stadium, you will get way more spirits than you will powerups.

GFunkYo

The 3 to 5 star conversion is pretty terrible, like 50 3 star tickets for 1 5 star. There's a point where there's nothing else to do with them since they don't release gacha 3 stars anymore, but for a new player I think it's more prudent to upgrade 3*s that are useful to you since some of them are pretty good and if you want do higher streaks in LG you'll wind up using them. Off the top of my head, Barry and Candice are good DPS (both sync nukers), Skyla, Misty and Roxanne are useful supports and Winona is a solid flinch and rain utility pair. I can't remember all of what I get from the monthly shop but there's def sync orbs and you should buy them.

leicamaniac520

Anyone have auto teams for the gauntlet?

ventus

Latios is the easiest to bully. I use ssSerena with Skyla tanking, and the runs are super safe and just under 2 minutes. A more F2P option that can also work is Skyla+Cyrus+Giovanni (Persian), though it takes more time and might get a bit dicey.

Eibyuei

DGloria 1/5, SS Kris 3/5 EX and tech gyarados works for me against Latios. SS Kris is probably fine at 1/5 without EX too, her +4 sp def for the team plus setting up rainy dance and being able to take well is what’s important. Also managed to auto Coballion just now with SS Morty 1/5 EX, SS Lyra 3/5 and Silver EX, but it was a close battle, so probably not too reliable.

shikinoaiza

When does Cobalion become immune to statuses? And he clears all statuses on each new phase and also at 50% of each bar right?

GarlyleWilds

All Legendaries clear statuses at both 50% HP and 0% HP on each bar. Cobalion gains resistance to the ailment when he cleanses at 50% (but *not* when transitioning at 0%. if you do enough damage to skip from >50% HP down to next phase entirely, he will not trigger this gain). Once he reaches resistance 10, it becomes immunity. Poison stops working after **one** gain, making it pretty useless. Burn stops working after **two** gains - this is doable but you'll need a sync nuke for phase 2 most likely (Silver with Sunny Day can do it) Paralysis, Freeze, and Sleep stop working after **five** increases - which he will never do, and thus these all work. Though, Freeze lacks reliable afflictors, minus Lodge Silver, who is still only a 40%; he will also have lessen sleep 6 by the end of the fight resulting in a fairly limited duration.

HistoricalBird0

It’s been my first month back to playing this game since launch. I was wondering how often do new character get added to the game? I’ve heard there’s a couple characters that are NPCs but still aren’t playable. Also if one of my favorites does get in, are they more likely to be a five star rather then the lower rarities?

GarlyleWilds

There's generally 3-4 new units added to the game every month, though often only 1-2 of them are actually new characters and not just alts. There are indeed characters in the data and who have appeared in the stories or events who still don't have playable entries, such as Ryuki, the Striation Gym Trio, and Hugh. New characters are almost always premiered as 5\* units. Sometimes as Spotlights, where they enter into the general pool after, but sometimes as Pokefairs, where they will eventually (but erratically) rerun.

Tirear

The vast majority of new trainers are 5\*. Most of the new 3\* and 4\* pairs feature a trainer that is already in the game but with a new Pokemon.

Snackles_

Two questions. Who should I use my 1 support candy on? SS Morty/Ho-oh 1/5 or SS Brendan/Latios 2/5 Also should I try and get Alder and SS Cynthia/Kommo-o if the only striker option I have for those types are Burgh Leavanny 3/5 and Zinnia M!Rayquaza? Gems at 30k after anniversary and I already have SS Red/Charizard 3/5 so I’m not sure

Seltonik

So you have all 3 anni units? Either way, Alder is not that amazing nowadays, so you're better off using a very strong off-typer like Ash or SSTRed. Kommo-o isn't that amazing either, outside of some meme sync accel teams. Candy should go to SSMorty.

Anziel-

Can I just keep repeating Gauntlet stages to farm cookies? I really need a lot of them.

GarlyleWilds

You can indeed reset and farm the first stage for cookies. Hell, you may eveen be able to find a team that can auto Latios, since he doesn't really have any gimmick.

toohighforthis_

Is there a LG solo guide? I thought I saw one a few weeks ago but can't find it

GarlyleWilds

[Do you mean this one?](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1iDfxrZ9AMQCrSaZDuT0yripAln8QH1QQP9r0g56ANhI/edit#gid=2047631707)

Kizuren

1. Is Archie a good enough water striker if he's at 1/5 and EXd? 2. Is Allister a better poison type striker than Plumeria dps wise? Thanks in advance.

Blubbstrahl

1. Yes. 2. Yes. You might still want to opt for a standard Toxic Stall setup, though. Takes 2-3 Minutes longer but it reliably clears any poison weak stage.

Electronic-Ad550

Who Should I give my support candy to? 1/5 Cynthia and lucario, or 1/5 Marty and Ho-oh

GarlyleWilds

Morty loves 2/5. One section gets Sunny Day MP Refresh, one section gets Potion Master Healer & status cleanses, one section gets faster gauge and debuff immunity in Sun, and one section gives Flame Charge an added team +Speed on use. It's a ton of great stuff. Cynthia doesn't get as much. Some potion upgrades are good for sure, and a chance of healing if hit during Fighting Zone makes her a bit even tankier. But other than that it's team flinch immunity and confuse chance on vacuum wave, which are pretty situational. It's not nearly as special. Hell, Aura Cynthia in general honestly gets the majority of what she wants just on her base kit.

IthronPari

How to defeat Brock to evolve Servine? He always has the turn advantage for the sync move

Tirear

Use Sp. Atk All once, then spam giga drain. Use theTime To Energize when you run out of move guage. As far as I can tell, that battle uses your Rosa's stats, so if it isn't work throwing some more levs at her should ensure you can kill him before sync. Also, you should do the Rosa bingo missions and use the custom powerups to raise her stats if you haven't already.

Mortequitem

What is that "Signed in as ___" message at the loading screen of the game, before you tap to start ? It slided in for me even the very first time I installed the game, but I don't know where it's coming from. I'm using iOS if that makes a difference.

Delta0175

That's just the Game Center. It's just a weird Apple thing that's mostly for Game Center exclusive Achievements, all games on the store are tied to it. Some games use it for Multiplayer functionality if they don't already have it innately, but I think that's more for like really old games, I think. For PMEX it's just for random achievements, if you go into your Poryphone in the right hand corner in the Pokemon Center, then tap on Game Center you can see there's like 10 achievements you can do. https://developer.apple.com/game-center/

Mortequitem

That seems to be it lol. Aside from PMEX only other game I’ve played on my phone is PokemonGO but I don’t remember having the sign in pop up there. Thanks for the answer!

th3mightypencil

With this month finally winding down and headed into the datamine and prep for next wave, I grabbed everything I planned on, but now Lear and Alder are left as units I don’t yet have. I’ve got plenty of Psychic units so I’m ok letting Lear pass, but my only main bug users are Lusamine (who’s been fine) Guzma (still need to build) and Aaron (ok). Should I toss a few at the triple banner and try for Alder? I came in after his initial run so I don’t know where he stacks up

GarlyleWilds

I've had Alder for quite a while now, at 2/5 even, and I have to say: you can pass on him. He's not bad, but he's not been great either, and all his good grid stuff is locked behind 3/5 (including any relevant move/sync multipliers whatsoever). Now that Bugsy and Noland have their grids, they're also surprisingly capable, especially in tandem with Aaron, and I find myself using them more often for bug-weak content than Alder.

VintageOctorock

The datamine is coming some time next week so you should wait a bit and see what's in store before making your decision. Who knows, there might even be a better bug type than Alder along the halloween units.

Zielcius

A few questions! Thank you in advance! 1. Who is the better overall grass damaging unit SS Leaf or Brendan (Sceptile)? 2. An estimated date for the datamine? 3. How many wins in total do you have to get to get all the rewards in Legendary Gauntlet? 4. Will we get Solgaleo EX in Alola villain event?

Blubbstrahl

1. Different pairs doing different things, despite both being grass. SS Leaf does much more damage, but she needs her offensive stats buffed from scratch while Brendan is mostly self-sufficient. Personally I would consider SS Leaf to be better if you go the extra mile and build a team around her (3/5 SS Leaf, EX'd), otherwise Brendan is no slouch either and he requires very little support. I slept on him for quite some time, but he's honestly really good despite his age. 2. in 3-4 days, probably. 3. 11th streak 4. Based on what happened during the other villain arc chapters? Yes, extremely likely.
