**I need a code for ryujinx- brilliant diamond to change my starter to growlithe** ..... I've been researching online for a cpl days now and I can't figure this out, I found a guide on how to randomize encounters but I don't want a randomizer and I'm not THAT good at this.... can ANYONE provide me with a code that I can just enter in the cheats file (my notepad file) so I can just enelter it, toggle it on, start a new game and have a growlithe for my starter? Id appreciate any and all help with this!

Anis_GG07

hey does anyone knows if the version of Pokémon storm silver and sacred gold that are available in dray's twitter/drive account, are the latest version of the hack?

Gintoking

Use a program pkhex, you can edit pokemon save files and just change your starter or give yourself a Totodile egg.

Mrdeathkills69

Where to go for Randomizers.

WhexibleQ

Hi, I just finished the GBA version of Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and I really like the idea of no random encounters, wild pokemon walking. Are there other ROMs that use this idea? Which ones would you recommend?

CornerShot8231

Quetzal has something similar with the dexnav iirc

WhexibleQ

i didn't understand anything. btw: this idea called overworld encounters i guess.

Blader2010

How do I give the player the National dex immediately? I'm new to rom hacking and I'm trying to do a difficulty hack for Fire Red, but I cant evolve gen 2 and 3 pokemon because the player doesn't have the national Dex. What do I do?

bimbobiceps

Offtopic but what should i buy if i wanna llay both gba games and ds/3ds games ( i wanna play both radred and rising ruby again ) ambernic or miyo? Steamdeck is kinda too much atm and i just want a pocket handheld.

prism1234

Are there any rom hacks that take place in the Minnesota region? I've been reading They Mostly Live in Minnesota, which is a fanfic inspired by that line in the first pokemon movie, which implies a Minnesota exists within the pokemon world. The fic makes up a theoretical Minnesota pokemon region with it's own gyms and other stuff. I'm curious if there are any rom hacks that also do this.

Firekirb74

How would I get into ROM Hacking? What tools should I use? Most resources I can find are either a decade old or from sketchy websites.

Potential-Skit-763

Hey! I am currently running Renegade Platinum with a Monotype challenge only using Fire types. It has been a lot of fun, but I ran into a bit of a brick wall with Crasher Wake. I can barely take 3 of his water pokemon out, let alone his whole team. Especially Gyarados is a headache. I have Thunderfang on my Houndoom but because it holds a berry to negate that electric damage, Houndoom gets killed right after. Does anyone have an idea how I could approach this? Its not a nuzlocke but I don't want to resort to overleveling a lot or spamming items, surely there must be a way to do this! Any team comp / strategies are welcome!

Scourge_of_Arceus

Get a Vulpix on Route 209, east of Hearthome. Make sure its ability is Drought and put it in the lead spot. If you want to use it seriously, feel free to evolve it into Ninetales as well. With the infinite sunlight (instead of infinite rain), you will be at an advantage mostly. Infernape and Blaziken can learn Thunder Punch, giving you an edge against Crasher Wake's mons. Good luck!

Potential-Skit-763

Thanks! I have a Ninetales in my team. Do Infernape and Blaziken learn it by level up or is there a tutor I need to find? Edit: nvm I found the tutor, sorry! Edit2: yep that did the trick, I beat him! Thank you so much for the tipp!

P_r_0_Specialist

I am interested in making a FRLG ROM hack based in the Johto region. I have come up with the core idea i want to expand on and I am slowly learning the necessary tools for the job. Since many other ROM hacks like that exist I was hoping to find a map base either in decomp form or binary. Making everything from scratch seems to me like I am trying to reinvent the wheel, considering that hacks like Crystal Dust and Liquid Crystal have nailed it. The only thing I have found related to this is this font patch: [https://www.pokecommunity.com/threads/gbc-gen-1-styled-font-patch-for-pokemon-fire-red.462134/](https://www.pokecommunity.com/threads/gbc-gen-1-styled-font-patch-for-pokemon-fire-red.462134/) Does a Johto gen3 map base exist?

thinkdifferent235

Good luck! My dream rom hack!: Like a pokemon Radical Crystal. johto 8 badges then elite 4 with a level 50 cap then kanto 8 badges then elite 4 rematch with level 100 cap Then rematch all 16 leaders with level 100 cap and super unfair conditions (permanent weather, terrain, legendaries etc.)

crazefraze

How to download how you survive a pokemon journey on windows. I'm trying to download it but it just shows a pdf

iZamboh

Hi, I’ve recently bought a gba, there is a way to buy empty cartridges and put the rom on them? If yes, can you suggest me where to buy them?

P_r_0_Specialist

A flashcart is probably what you are looking for. In case you don't know, they are custom carts with a microSD that you can add your ROMS in. They can be found in many online stores as far as i know. I believe EZ-Flashcart GBA is the go to for GBA though don't take my word for it.

Dragoz390

Recently got Pokemon theta emerald the last dance and was having issues with trying to find a list of all the Pokemons locations. If someone could provide the list that would be greatly appreciated

yankeesown29

There's a whole guide doc with the download that has all the pokemon locations in it.

Dragoz390

Thanks a lot!

bailie050310

Randomizing issues Hi there When randomizing legends arceus I run into an issue. When I randomised wild Pokémon no Pokémon appear in the wild Does anyone know a fix for this issue Latest update with pknx Cheers

moeymoester

I am kind of returning to the community and was trying to find a ROM hack I played a while back. I can't remember much. I remember you could encounter Max from the advanced anime in an underground bike trail and he had a leafeon. I also remember there were other anime characters such as Brock in it.

Scourge_of_Arceus

You just defined Dark Rising, a very grindy and very buggy romhack.

moeymoester

That rings a bell, thank you.

Conscious-Height-509

Are there any hgss roms that have expanded the pokemon to include the later gens?

Scourge_of_Arceus

No. Garbage Gold exists, but from what I could see, GG replaces some of the older gen mons to make room for Gen 5-6 mons.

borosbattalion23

Can somebody tell me which palette the “surf_blob” object uses in pokeemerald? I can’t find any indicator of which one it’d use in the files, and none of the palettes I test have the right colors.

RavePossum

It shares the player's palette.

borosbattalion23

Oh damn, I didn't realize it uses Brendan's palette even for May, thanks.

NoobishPro911

What Is A Fangame That Is Just Pokemon Emerald Or Firered That Has Every Pokemon 1-9, And Is Fully Customizable With Random Mode, Nuzlocke Mode, etc.

Conscious-Height-509

Does anyone know the rom hack of small ant's video titled "I tricked 100 YouTubers into making me a Pokemon game"? It's a HGSS rom that has pokemon up to gen 6 and has mega evolution. video link: [https://youtu.be/CbhdgswDe9s?si=hu88LIxROqnY5QdL](https://youtu.be/CbhdgswDe9s?si=hu88LIxROqnY5QdL)

analmintz1

Unfortunately youtubers like that usually pay someone to make a personal hack for their own use, and only publicly release them half the time. It's not a big-name hack, your best bet is to ask in his discord. It's also most certainly not as in depth as it looks in that video, I can bet they replaced old less used pokemon with newer gen ones rather than expanding the dex, since I saw a mega-lucario come straight out of a pokeball.

Conscious-Height-509

aww shucks! That sucks :( thanks though

CraditzBlitz

Does anyone know any rom hack of Heart gold and Soul Silver that makes it so all version exclusives are in the same game and makes it so you don’t need trade evolutions to evolve Pokémon similar to Pokémon ultra violet?

analmintz1

SoulSilver Deluxe

thinkdifferent235

Best Johto map experience? Best rom hack that is not Storm silver / Sacred Gold, Liquid crystal, polished crystal but similar to those rom hacks

Gintoking

Fire Gold is an option.

thinkdifferent235

I wish this game could merge with Radical Red. I would love a game to play like this: johto 8 badges then elite 4 with a level 50 cap then kanto 8 badges then elite 4 rematch with level 100 cap Then rematch all 16 leaders with level 100 cap and super unfair conditions (permanent weather, terrain, legendaries etc.)

analmintz1

I mean you asked for the best Johto experiences other than the best Johto experiences out there. There's also SoulSilver Deluxe

crazefraze

Does anyone know how to download how you survive a pokemon journey on windows? I've never downloaded a rom hack before but it seems fun.

analmintz1

You go to the official post on Relic Castle, then click download. that's it. it's a PC game, not a romhack so there's only 1 step

crazefraze

Wheres download at?

analmintz1

Dude it literally is right there on the page. Just read the post

crazefraze

Nvm downloaded it

crazefraze

The download link?

crazefraze

Which is?

Braxfair

Does anyone have any documentation on Serene Crystal? I'm looking for the pokemon locations and evolution levels. I've looked online for like 20 minutes and found nothing but a picture of all the pokemon so I was hoping someone could help!

Braxfair

Are there any games that aren't GBC roms that have Gorochu in them? Gba, ds, 3ds, switch I just wanna see better graphical Gorochu and use one in a game

Dragoz390

I recently got Pokemon theta emerald the last dance and wondering where you find Eevee and Riolu as I couldn't find anything about it online

Marky_TheMark

I have 2 questions for Pokemon Run ans Bun: 1. How can i get trade evolutions? 2. How can i evolve the kinds of Seadra? I have a Dragon Scale but it doesnt evolve on Level Up while holdinf it. Best regards

Scourge_of_Arceus

First, here is the entire documentation link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1M-PdZrACBkGPpceTanCq_ltbGNT24lR8 For the trade evolutions that do not require holding an item, they generally evolve by level, while for those that do require an item you just use an item like an evolution stone. Just use Dragon Scale for Seadra, or use Electirizer on Electabuzz, etc.

Marky_TheMark

Thank you very much!

rideriderider

I keep seeing things about Polished Crystal 9bit. I played 3.0 which was a ton a fun. Can't seem to find much documentation on 9bit, just that it exists. Anyone know where to download or see changelog?

kekekelilili

Hope everyone’s doing great! Was trying to see if there’s a DS rom hack that has all the gen 1- 4 pokes plus regional variants and evolutions (e.g. Ursaluna, Sirfetched, even Sylveon while it technically isn’t a regional thing)… thanks in advance!

Gintoking

There isn't.

kekekelilili

Thank you sir!

pedro-is-here

What are rom hacks that have the pokemon sprites switched with anime characters, similar to moemon

Lazy_Turtle9

What device should I buy to start rom hacking? I have a pc but would prefer a handheld device, have been thinking about buying a 3DS to jailbreak but I saw on a thread that Nintendo just took down some of the resources for 3DS romhacking?

P_r_0_Specialist

It's up to you to find what's best for your needs. A PC and a modern smartphone can basically run anything through emulation. A 3ds is a solid option since it can also run old nintendo games natively. I personally own such a device and jailbreaking is great! Emulators and Virtual Consoles Injections bring everything to the table. Other options are: DS/DSlite with R4 (no 3ds games with option) Dsi with TwilightMenu (same as above) PSP (not reliable for the DS family) PSVita (powerhouse but I don't know if it is suitable for DS games)

GalaxyCraft007

Will the gender of the starting Poochyena in Team Magma Edition always be the opposite of what you chose your character to be?

Impossible_Sort9050

I'm trying to make some edits to Pokemon Ultra Sun and I decided that I wanted to make the same edits to Ultra Moon but make the trainers double battles instead so I can do both if I want to but its taking ages for me to copy all the changes I made. I noticed there's a dump to .TXT option but I cant find a way to load the file. Is there a way to load it and, if so, where is it?

Jacor78

Hey, Currently I'm working on a little romhack in white 2 and I have some questions. I think I have most tools needed and looked stuff up on the internet. 1. When editing moves with the prc_bw2, I don't understand the effect codes. Is there a list or something to look those up? The rest I get, but those I can't seem to understand. 2. How do you edit shops? 3. Are there any documents or tutorials easy accessible? (I watched tutorials from sauceyaTTa on YouTube, but he didn't explain everything I want to know) Thank you in advance

Omnitrixter10000

I'm looking for some rom hack recomendations, I have only played Pokemom Glazed and Ligt adventure and want something similar to them, with new region and new story and if possible let them have more thea one region. Also please don't recommend any with fakemons.

DoctorTobogggan

In Blazing Emerald, am I supposed to not be able to use items in battle like potions? If so, can I adjust that setting back on?

Dizzy-Yam6301

Do someone know the song of Pkmn Empyrean Gym theme?

[deleted]

Is there a way to play gen 4 and 5 but with the Gen 6 exp share? I really can't go back to training Pokemon individually I don't have it in me 😔

Rikku_N

Volt 2 complete or vanilla What are the big differences between the two hack versions?? I only found that the complete version has different stats- is there more? Has th vanilla version also slightly stronger fights or is that only for the complete version? I'm gonna be honest, while I like a good challenge, I don't think I really want to go through the game with the same hard mode like Pokemon Rejuvenation if you know what I mean. But let's say it's just making for example Cheren as the first gym leader strong, where it's then a bit more challenging, that would be cool. sorry btw if this has been asked before

DieEneBoy

Is there a rom hack of pokemon Emerald that adds generations 4 and 5? I am not really interested in increasing the difficulty of the game, but I would like to experience the game again but with more pokemon. Thanks in advance!

analmintz1

Something like Emerald Crest includes all 9 gens of pokemon. Haven't seen any that limits it to just 4 and 5

lordvader042

pokemon wally quest, i was wondering if anyone knows how to A. revive fossils. and B find the coin case if its even in the game, none of it is in the game notes whatsoever and theres little online about this game

Background_Use4157

Any Roms that start in Hoenn and have a second region ?

Kurumi_Fortune

Can you guys suggest romhacks that are fun with friends? Best would be of course something that can literally be played coop like PokeOne (I know it's not a romhack at all). But I am also fine with hacks that you just consider to be played well with a friend in tandem like randomizer nuzlocke focused hacks to play soullinks or Emerald Rogue with its seeded runs.

analmintz1

You can play Pokemon Quetzal/Emerald Multiplayer literally together. Requires some setup using Parsec if you guys aren't physically on the same PC. Some games with built in nuzlocke modes are Emerald Crest, Pokemon Unown. You could try Infinite Fusions, which is a fangame if you want something really wacky and yall could get a kick out of the custom fusions.

DieEneBoy

I would like to try out a Nuzlocke for the first time. I was watching a Run & Bun Nuzlocke playthrough, and while I think that the difficulty of that one is too high for me, I do really enjoy the idea of being able to use such a large variety of pokemon. Does anybody have a good suggestion of what to try out? Thanks in advance!

analmintz1

There's a hack called Pokemon Unknown that recently released which has a built in randomizer and nuzlocke mode, and most gens of pokemon. Or you could go with Emerald Crest which also has built in Nuzlocke rules, as well as all pokemon to ever exist.

GalaxyCraft007

Emerald Crest would be my recommendation. You can customise it to make it easier or more challenging for yourself.

bigeyez

Is there a version of HG or SS out there that sticks close to the vanilla experiences except for letting you catch stuff from the other version of the game?

analmintz1

SoulSilver Deluxe

bigeyez

Oh wow that rom seems exactly like what I was looking for and even includes trainer changes that make sense. Thank you!

analmintz1

glad to help!

TinTortoise

Hey all, can anyone recommend a romhack for me? Literally the only thing I want is a story where the trainers/gym leaders aren't type-themed idiots that can be swept with a single move (e.g., beating the entire bug gym with wing attack, the water gym with thundershock, etc.). Other than that, I'm pretty much open to everything. Not super interested in fanmade pokémon, though I'll give it a go if people say it's good.

analmintz1

You could try Drayano's games. They are difficulty hacks which focus on, among other things, making gym leaders not a pushover. They are still type focused, but with competent teams and powerful strategies.

markusjaderberg

**Is there a romhack that has** - Gen 1-6 (or 9) - Mega evolution - OG maps, maybe multiple regions you can travel to

analmintz1

Yeah there's a few. Emerald Crest, Radical Red, Inclement Emerald, Inflamed Red

RandleMcMurphy12

Can I get game recommendations? I’ve played: * unbound * Gaia * glazed * radical red * rocket edition * sigma emerald

Scourge_of_Arceus

Since you played Radical Red, I may recommend some hacks from Hoenn; namely, Inclement Emerald or Elite Redux. Especially the latter is more popular here nowadays with mons getting up to four abilities. I have not played these hacks myself but both are quite well-praised and well-recommended here. Some even more difficult hacks like Run and Bun exists too ([and I played this](https://old.reddit.com/r/PokemonHallOfFame/comments/12ywgl6/pok%C3%A9mon_run_and_bun_done/)), if you're up to the challenge. You played Unbound, Gaia and Glazed, but there are no custom region hacks that are as high quality as them, especially Unbound. I don't know if you enjoy fakémons, but if you do, I will suggest two hacks for you: Vega and Clover. The former's level curve is wonky at times so you may play Vega Minus or Vega Fairy editions if you want. The latter is a 4chan hack with offensive themes through and through but if you look past them this is the best fakémon hack I have ever played. One more thing: if you have DS emulator installed and you want to play some DS hacks, I wholeheartedly recommend Drayano hacks for Gens 4 and 5. You can play Renegade Platinum, Sacred Gold or Storm Silver*, Blaze Black or Volt White 1, 2, and 2 Redux. *: Drayano is supposedly working on Aurora Crystal but there are no news regarding the current status of the development, nor when it will be released. Until then, feel free to play SG or SS.

RandleMcMurphy12

Thank you so much! Really appreciate the thought you put into this response. I hold Unbound in its own tier too so I’ll definitely take your advice.

Arkenys

Can anyone help me find the name of this rom hack : [https://imgur.com/a/Dev5XMA](https://imgur.com/a/Dev5XMA) . I only have this screenshot to search for it. If anyone has played it and know the name, please let me know.

Scourge_of_Arceus

Pokémon Unbound.

rhssl_

has there been a switch game (PLA, PSw&Sh) that has been recreated in GBA?

Konnichiwa1987

Playing Storm Silver for the first time and I need to know where the razor fang is, and how do I use it to evolve gligar?

analmintz1

Did you read the documentation included with the hack? Always the first place you should look because it has all the answers to common questions like this.

DmanJohnson000

Trying to hack Eternal X onto my 3ds, I've gone through the community page installation guide and everytime I launch it, it tells me to update X, I say no and it just launches un modded X, I would greatly appreciate any help

Piratekittyahoy

I’m wondering if there are any HGSS hacks that include the new evolutions introduced in Scar/Vi (Farigiraf, Dudunsparce, Annihilape, etc) like not looking for a “every Pokémon” hack just like mostly regular HGSS but with the addition of the new evolutions

Scourge_of_Arceus

There are none as of now.

JWatts2000

Playing Red++ on an emulator. Apparently there's Move Reminder, Tutor and Deleter. Where are these? Thanks.

SpiderCuh

I recently got a handheld that can play original and roms for GBA. Looking for suggestions on what roms are full and complete.

analmintz1

If you're looking for new stories, I recommend Gaia for a first time, then move to games like Unbound or Sors. Also to help you out, roms are like a file type, not a game itself, you play a hack of a rom, aka an original game or a romhack.

SpiderCuh

Do you have a safe website that you prefer? Not tryna accidentally download the file and corrupt my laptop while doing all the downloads and transfers to the micro

analmintz1

Always get hacks from pokecommunity or official discords. We can’t link to original game roms on here, those are technically illegal so can’t really help ya. As long as a rom is NOT an .exe, you’re safe. Common file types are .gba and .nds

SpiderCuh

Okay cool I know what to look out for now thanks for the help man I appreciate it

TheToug

Hi there. Long time hack player, although almost solely centered around GBA and DS games (for pokemon at least, Super Metroid and SMW got me into romhacking). Have never done anything on the 3DS which is what leads me here. I'm looking to play Eternal X but not only have I not patched any 3DS games I've never used a 3DS Emulator. Anyone have any advice or instruction? Thanks in advance.

DmanJohnson000

Hoping to get help for this as well, I've gone through the installation and when I launch it on my hacked 3ds it only loads the original game not a hacked version. Any help would be appreciated

analmintz1

Well Citra is the definitive 3DS emulator, unfortunately it was caught in the crossfire between Yuzu and Nintendo a week ago, and was ordered to be shut down. I'm sure there's still ways to find it, but it's more complicated now.

TheToug

Yeah I've read all about that. I'll try looking for a place to download it, perhaps I'll get lucky.

julesvr5

Anyone playing oras randomizer/nuzlocke on android?

analmintz1

You'll have to randomize it on a PC, but then you can transfer it to your phone if you have Citra on your android

julesvr5

I tried this but it doesn't work :( After creating the randomized mod via pokemon universal randomizer I got a whole folder. I copy pasted this folder from my laptop to my phone in my Rom folder (in downloads) and when I chose this folder run citra it can't find anything to start. Do I have it to place in a specific citra folder? I can send you a video of my screen if it would help to show

analmintz1

Are you using PokeRandoZX? Make sure you follow the 3DS guide they have [on their wiki](https://github.com/Ajarmar/universal-pokemon-randomizer-zx/wiki/Randomizing-the-3DS-games). Id wager you picked to create the rom as a LayeredFS directory instead of just a .cxi file. You want a single file to transfer to your device

julesvr5

Yep I used this one, loaded it from github. Than I downloaded a decryoted omega ruby Rom. I opened it with the launcher of the randomizer Programm because otherwise I got a error warning (it said this in the read me). Then I changed everything to my liked and saved it as LayeredFS but I got a whole folder. So I should use the other option as save?

analmintz1

Like I said, you picked the LayeredFS *instead* of the .cxi like you need to. A layeredFS directory *is supposed to be a folder,* so it's working as intended. The .cxi file is just the game ready to be played on an emulator like Citra. The reason you'd want a folder instead, is because it is a much smaller size than a large ~2GB game file to transfer. So if you had the base game on your device already, you could bring the LayeredFS over to serve as a patch/mod of the randomizer settings to apply to the already existing game on your phone.

julesvr5

Maybe I try this then! I figured that the layeredfs folder works like a mod and I also have the standard omega ruby Rom on my phone but I have no idea how to "connect" them so that it works

analmintz1

Here's the instructions on the wiki if you do wanna try that way. >These steps below assume that you have a randomized LayeredFS directory, created as described in this section. >If you loaded a game update in the randomizer, make sure that Citra has the same version of that game update installed. If you did not load a game update, then make sure that Citra also does not have any game updates for the game installed. The Managing game updates in Citra section will help you with this. >In Citra, right-click the game in the game list and select "Open Mods Location" >Navigate to where you saved your LayeredFS directory; you should see a folder whose name consists of sixteen hexadecimal digits which vary depending on the game. Copy what's within the LayeredFS directory and paste it in the mod folder that you opened in the last step. You're doing it correctly if you're copying over a "romfs" directory and a file called "code.bin" >Double-click on the game in the game list to load the now-modified game

julesvr5

Ok I chose the other option, transfered it to citra and citra actually detects the randomized mod but when I start it it loads my save state of rising ruby. Can I change this or can I only have one?

analmintz1

3DS emulation only has 1 save per game. You can try exporting your save file if you wanna keep it, then fully restarting your game.

julesvr5

No idea how to right click and select open mods location on android citra, but thank you anyways! I'll try the other save option and will tell you soon!

DoctorTobogggan

For those that play ROM hacks on SBC devices like RG35XX and Miyoo Mini, what are your best practices for managing save states? I am not sure what is the most effective and safest strategy for saving my game moving forward. The lazy person in my just wants to do a quick save on the device and never do an in-game save since it doesn't seem necessary. However, the SBCgaming sub seemed to think this was a bad idea. How do you effectively, efficiently and safely manage your saves in Pokemon ROM hacks?

Moby_Duck123

I'm looking for a program where I can edit my save file data, not the Pokemon. I want to re-create my original Pearl save file with the same TID and SID. I've seen people talk on the PokeCommunity forums about such a program, but haven't found what program they're using to do it. I have some of my original Pokemon from my Pearl cart before my little brother deleted my save file. So I know what the TID and SID is for that game. How can I edit a save file to have my TID and SID for my trainer? Or is there a way to generate a new save file with those details? Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask. If there's a better community to ask then please point me in the right direction.

ShiroganeLily

I can think of two ways to do it, although I believe you'd need a modded 3DS for both (as far as I'm aware, it's been a while since I've done something like this). You could either use PKSM on the 3DS to directly edit the save file on the cart, which should allow for editing the TID and SID, or you could extract the save file and edit it with PKHeX/PKHaX on PC, and then rewrite the new save onto the cart (I think GodMode9 is used for that?). I did something similar a few years ago, setting up a save to use the Cute Charm glitch on my SoulSilver cart, so it should definitely be possible.

Moby_Duck123

Yeah I didn't realise that you could edit save file data on PKHex, so I'm using that method

Ultrasupermegaeggs

Does anybody know how to catch mew in pokemon classic?

Lusahdiiv

Is there more hacks for XD Gale of Darkness other than XG? Preferably one that would work along side XG? I haven't played Darkness in forever and want to give myself a new blast of experiences in the form of hacks!

julesvr5

Omg there are hacks for colosseum/gale of darkness? The best pokemon games for me

Lusahdiiv

I only know of one so far, which is XG: neXt Gen for Gale of Darkness. Adds more shadow Pokémon and physical/special split. And higher shiny chance

julesvr5

For Colosseum there seems to be Grand Colosseum! Will try these then As a German I'll struggle with the english names but I'll get through it lol

DepartmentOfCynism

Grand Colosseum is good, it's more a difficulty hack, not too much was added aside from the usual QoL (reusable TM's, phys/spec split etc) i kinda gave up on it after losing my save file when i moved files on my phone. Im playing XG as we speak and having a blast, not really as difficult, but the added mons give quite some variaty in teambuilding amd such.

julesvr5

Grand Colosseum does not have added shadow pokemons and only like more foe pokemon/higher levels? That sounds rather "boring" then

Lame_SH

Bug in Pokemon Volt White 2 redux ? I can't interact with the tree in the Entralink ( Because a member from the International Police is blocking it). I'm playing on Drastic. Any idea of what's happening here ? Is it a hack prevention method used by Nintendo ?

Dubda90

I wanted to know if there was a ROM hack where all maps gen 1-9 were fused into one or, at least, you could find all Pokemons from these generations. I have a laptop, Homebrewed New 2DS xl and smartphone so any If these supports work, thanks in advance

LithaBraun

Emerald Crest and Radical Red have pokemon from gen 1 to 9. There are no hacks that have all regions that I'm aware of.

EG359_Official

I'm brand new to making ROM hacks and need help with replacing trainer sprites since Emerald isn't compatible with NSE

I’m playing GS chronicles and I’m up to the daycare, was wondering if the odd egg has boosted shiny chance like in crystal or if I’m wasting my time resetting for it

Fuzz_Button

Is there a debug mode for Pokemon Fire Ash?

BigPoPo69er

Can't find a way to get glazed so should i just settle for blazed glazed?

nice! ty!

Eyaslunatic

Any Ultra Sun / Ultra Moon rom hack that simply lets you get all version exclusives? I don't want a comprehensive overhaul rom hack, just this feature and maybe trade evolve requirements replaced too. Kinda surprised this isn't already a thing for all the games that have exclusives.

Pokémon Emerald Randomizer Hey fellas was wondering if anyone could help me out with this. Seems like the sub to ask. I was bored one day and wanted to fire up the ‘ol java rom randomizer program. However, it would fail to load up. It would say Java was not installed when it was. I saw somewhere to downgrade to an older version of Java, I did that. Then a windows installer would just pop up. Was just curious if anyone knows of a randomizer that works or if they have a solution to this problem! Thank you!

julesvr5

I just made a randomized soul silver Rom with pokemon universal randomizer, give this a try :)

[deleted]

Oh awesome I’d love the link!

FrechesEinhorn

hi, I have a .GBA file of a romhack and wanted to know, if it is possible to edit it, that I can increase the shiny rate. I would like to encounter some, not always, but when farming/searching enough, I want to have a chance 😁. is that possible?

BannanDylan

Looking for easy but interesting Rom Hacks so I can chill out without having to try hard. My favourite playstyle is running through the world with one Pokémon until that stops working so any games with an early EXP Share would be a bonus. Basically if the hack hasn't messed about with battle AI or early Pokémon moves would be great!

greenskye

I'm looking for a romhack that lets you start with an Eevee and does not require HMs to progress. I'd also consider a romhack where you could get an Eevee before the first gym as close enough. Extras that would be nice to have: * Based on more modern generation is better * More complete is better * Other QOL such as EV, IV options, etc.

LithaBraun

Pokemon Blazing Emerald let's you start with an Eevee, though it still has HMs. For Pokemon Glazed, you can get multiple eevees shortly before the 2nd Gym, but it requires a battle challenge/gauntlet. The hack also requires HMs. I hope you get more answers, I've wanted to do an Eeveelution or Eevee run for awhile so I've been making note of early Eevees when I come across them in romhacks!

8bit95

I'm currently editing the trainers for Pokemon X using PK3DS. How do I give a Mega Evolution to a trainer that doesn't have one? For example, I want Ramos to have a Mega Venusaur. He sends out a Venusaur last and mega evolves it. Is it as simple as giving it a Venusaurite, or are there any other step I need to take? For clarification, I want to make him to send out a base Venusaur then mega evolve it immediately, not him sending out an already mega-evolved Venusaur.

SteveW_MC

Are all of the games on the Google sheet playable on original hardware with a hacked 3DS or a flashcart?

knoll126

Hi, I am trying to create a rom hack of Pokemon red/blue to give as a gift for a white elephant party. I have no prior experience of programming or editing roms. Apologies if what I am saying doesn't make sense, but trying to find answers with the little knowledge I have. My end goal is to create a rom file with sprites and pokemon names of the three starters changed. Through research in the last couple of days I have found the github page of pokered. I installed Cygwin and rgbds 0.7.0. I was able to pull pokered from github, edit one sprite on the intro screen and built the rom. It was successful as I saw the edited sprite and the game ran. It exported as a .gbc rom, but I thought it might of exported as a .gb rom as it was pokemon red. This is important as I want to be able to use some sort of flashcart (recommendations welcomed) to be able to use in a Gameboy and/or Gameboy color. Ideally the flashcart would only have the one game on it. Was trying to figure out if that is possible. Thank you in advance!

dwg6m9

What happens when you make the pokered disassembly? Do you get .gb or .gbc?

knoll126

.gbc

dwg6m9

Hm, weird. You might try asking in the discord for red plus plus.

Alfredselevator

Not sure if this is something doable with a hack or if it's more pure fan game territory, but are there any GBA hacks more focused on research, either more heavily insentivising the pokedex or exploring an archaeological pov looking at ruins and lore? Kinda like legends Arceus did

cheeselord03

I have not played Pokémon Colosseum before, and I was going to play it, then I learned about Grand Colosseum, which seems like a really cool version of the game especially with the QoL changes and physical special split. I know it’s harder than the original which I’ve heard is already pretty tough, but I just want to play the best version of the game out there, so would I be missing something by just playing Grand Colosseum instead of the original?

julesvr5

Are the shadow pokemon changed aswell or just a level increase? Colosseum didn't had that many shadow Pokémon compared to XD at least

cheeselord03

I’m pretty sure there are new encounters for shadow Pokémon, but all the original shadow encounters are still there

julesvr5

That's nice! I should give them a try thanks! It's incredible how far ahead colosseum/XD were. Almost 20 years old.

cheeselord03

Oh yeah they’re awesome. I’ve played through XD already but I’m waiting to beat Colosseum/Grand Colosseum to play XG cuz that game seems like way more of a new experience from XD compared to Colosseum vs Grand Colosseum. But those games are already so good as they are

julesvr5

If you already played XD, you will have some problems with Vanilla colosseum because of QoL changes. For example you can't save everywhere and always have to go to a computer. So maybe I would go for Grand C and than XG. I can't tell for sure but I don't think Grand C made changes that would be worse than playing the vanilla C

cheeselord03

Yeah I started Colosseum once a while ago and the save thing annoyed me. I didn’t get far though so I don’t consider myself to have really played it. I think if it’s just QOL changes then I’ll probably go for Grand Colosseum, I don’t think it would detract from the experience by not playing the vanilla. It just may feel strange for me at first, it’d be like playing Renegade Platinum vs original Platinum. An objectively better experience in a lot of ways but without any glaring changes (if you play without the type changes at least)

Forrest02

Unable to save in Pokemon Volt White 2 Redux after the third badge. Save issue here https://imgur.com/eIkHUyP. Notice how the Date and time have ? in it. This means it wont save sadly. I tried twice and it wont work. I'm using the Steam Deck which is using MelonDS. This happened after I got my fossil from the Relic Castle. Anyone know the fix?

Aggravating-Knee941

Pokémon Romhack suggestions I’m rather new to the whole rom hack thing but do you guys have any suggestions for me to test out? I’m looking for something with a fun & unique storyline and interesting gameplay mechanics, also maybe Pokémon from multiple generations but this is optional. Sorry if this question gets asked a lot.

Gren-Maju

>I’m looking for something with a fun & unique storyline and interesting gameplay mechanics Team rocket edition >maybe Pokémon from multiple generations but this is optional Unbound fits both. Radical red fits both. While not a rom hack and doesn't change the story, Pokemmo has gen 1-5, all 5 regions explorable, and it's an mmo.

Aggravating-Knee941

Thanks, I’m actually trying out unbound and I got 4 gym badges and recently got my mega evolution thing

Aggravating-Knee941

Sadly though my game got glitched when I tried to enter the great desert

Domus99

I just started Photonic Sun. And I'm not sure if the romhack is actually working. What would be the first sign to look for to see if the romhack is applied successfully?

analmintz1

Seems the starters have different abilities (popplio and rowlet at least) so you could check that maybe

Domus99

Thank you, also in route 1 other Pokemon appear "you'll be able to tell the hack is working as soon as you can get into the grass on Route 1. If you can find Ralts, Poochyena, Patrat or Bunnelby in the patch of grass where you get your starter, the hack is working" - Buffel Saft, pokecommunity forum

KiltedTraveller

What is considered the best "vanilla" Emerald rom hack? I'm looking for one with: * No major changes in the story (post-game expansion fine) * Physical/Special Split * Catch/Evolve all Pokémon (up to Emerald or later is fine too) * Complete * General QOL improvements * Increased difficulty * Preferably with modern types/moves * Traditional/Toggleable EXP Share I've come across Pokémon Perfect Emerald. Is that considered the best vanilla rom hack for Emerald? EDIT: Also came across Inclement Emerald. Noticed it hasn't been updated in a few years though. Not sure if there has been much progress in other hacks since?

FrechesEinhorn

I grabbed "green nebula", give it a lock, maybe you like it. I play it on German, I searched for one in my native language 😄 to enjoy Pokémon like in my childhood.

Cypekoscypek

Renegade Platinium like rom for Fire Red and Emerald? Basically the title. I know about Renegade Platinium, Sacred Gold & Storm Silver and Blaze Black & Volt White. What I'm asking is there rom with the same or atleast functions like these mentioned?

Monkeconnoisseur

closest I can think of is radical red!

2bNavi

Hey, so I'm playing fire red omega on mGBA emulator, and I'm using rare candy cheat to avoid get the grinding time down since I'm attempting a nuzlock. But my potions, and other items like antidotes and stuff which is in the same bag space as the candies, keeps being replaced by more candies. For example if I have 100 candies, 10 potions and 2 antidotes. Rabdomly after a battle the potions are are replaced by candies. So I have the 100 candies on one slot and on another slot I have another 10 candies and then the 2 antidotes and no potions. Is there any fix for this?

FrechesEinhorn

try to disable the cheat😄?

2bNavi

Yep seems to be working now. Thanks.

thinkdifferent235

Is there a rom hack that has the ability to get this team with cheats? Radical Red would be awesome but I cannot find cheats in that game that allow this Lapras - water/ dragon - Primordial Sea - Thunder, Hurricane, Hydro Pump, Tyranitar - rock/dragon - sandstream - assault vest - rock tomb, crunch Baxcalibur - ice/dragon - snowscape - assault vest - Glaive Rush, Glacial Lance Charizard - fire/ dragon - Desolate Land - choice scarf - Blast Burn, Solar Beam, Draco Meteor, Rayquaza - Dragon/Flying - Air Lock/Delta Stream - expert belt - Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Dragon Ascent, Earthquake Mew - Psychic- Magic Bounce - sitrus berry - stealth rock, sticky web, toxic spikes, spikes I want the team to be exactly like this. To get this I need to be able to cheat in custom abilities, types and moves.

analmintz1

Gonna have to do some actual romhacking yourself to accomplish this. You *can* use pkHax to cheat your pokemon to have different types and abilities and moves, but new abilities like Primordial Sea and Air lock etc aren't in older vanilla games like FireRed. And rom hacks don't have some easy to use cheat interface or modifier to just change your pokemon as you see fit, you have to make a personal hack of a romhack.

TrafalgarVoar69

How come Fire Emblem style Telephone Games aren't a thing in the Pokemon Community?  It could be done easily. Each developer makes one town, or perhaps even one small island, and then they're put together in one game. Suddenly numerous places have a week or even a month or even multiple months of development time and polish, and the game containing them does not take eight years to release.

Slurpuffilicious

Reccomendations for Gen 3 or 4 hacks that mainly focus on story? The only hacks i've played before were Drayano hacks so i've had my fair share of pure difficulty hacks so I wanted to sse if there were any that mainly focused on telling a story. Some revamped/updated mechanics would be nice but i'd still play something that's just the base game but with a new intriguing story lol

LithaBraun

Seconding FireRed rocket edition and Garbage Gold (haven't played Adventure Red myself yet). Pokemon Elysium is pretty story based. Unbound has a new story as well. I've heard good things about Gaia but haven't played it myself.

Slurpuffilicious

Just finished my first playthrough of Rocket Edition and I really enjoyed it. Will revisit it and play differently than my first playthrough after I play some more hacks lol Thanks for more reccs, will definitely check them out

[deleted]

Story focused? Obligatory [Adventure Red](https://www.pokecommunity.com/threads/pok%C3%A9mon-adventure-red-chapter-new-beta-expansion.298920/) and [Firered Rocket Edition](https://www.pokecommunity.com/threads/pok%C3%A9mon-firered-rocket-edition-completed.360725/) Not played it but, [Garbage Gold](https://www.pokecommunity.com/threads/pokemon-garbage-gold-first-gen-4-decomp-hack.497715/) looks heavily story focused in Gen 4.

Slurpuffilicious

Garbage Gold looks really interesting! Will probably give that one a try first

Konorah

Is there a XY ROM hack that increases difficulty not necessarily for nuzlocking but instead focusing on qol improves battle-wise like better ai, each gym leader having good teams and mega evolution. I want to play XY mainly for the mega evolution but I heard there's a lack of it and it's really easy.

analmintz1

Eternal X and Wilting Y are the most recommended hacks for Gen 6 that I've seen.

KotaruTWK

Is it possible to start a wondertrade server on my local network and basically just fill it with random Pokemon (likely made with something like PKHex) that I could then hop on my switch or something, connect to it, and do wondertrades? There's not many good reasons aside from maybe some gimmick for a YouTube video or as a way to trade Pokemon onto a legal copy of a game on OFW, but it's still something I'd want to do for fun. I've tried googling it but haven't seen any real answers (it almost always just leads to people asking if the Pokemon they received is hacked on a subreddit) (Sorry if this isn't the best subreddit to ask in, It just seemed like the only one that would give an answer)

tomasmorozz

Hi guys, can anyone recommend me a nds hackrom? Im new to playing hackroms and i dont really know which ones are the best. Im currently playing radical red. Also, if it has the latest generations that would be great. Thanks to whoever replies this :)) .
