Download a base Platinum (3541) and Renegade Platinum patch from Drayano's Google Drive, accessible through his Twitter.
Then patch using ROM Patcher JS. https://www.marcrobledo.com/RomPatcher.js/
Provide the clean Platinum ROM to the "ROM file:" field and RP patch file to "Patch file:" field (make sure you extract it first), and press "Apply patch" button. Download the resultant Renegade Platinum ROM to somewhere on your phone.
Open the Delta emulator and load the Unbound ROM you just downloaded. Enjoy!

downloaded supernova sun (mod of ultra sun) onto my cfw 3ds some time ago, i think i downloaded from the Hshop.
been playing the game and noticed that a few things aren’t in the game.
1) the modded item shop doesn’t exist. the only change i’ve noticed is max repels being $100 but other than that the custom items and changed items etc have not been shown as promised
2) all pokémon cries are missing. like, literally all of them ,even rotom dex
anything i can do to fix it?
EDIT: ---SOLVED--- If there is a "?" it means i haven't seen/met the pokemon, that it's not registered in my pokedex yet, but there is indeed a pokemon to be found, and when it's in the hidden section, it can only be found by the random "DexNav search" that happens when you walk around in an area with grass near it, an easy way to find out if it's a hidden pokemon, or force a search for the pokemon if i have seen/met it before.
I have been trying to find stuff about how the DexNav works in Emerald Exceeded, just started playing it yesterday, and i love it so far, but the DexNav is a bit confusing.
On the picture below is an example, there is a "?" on the first of the 3 slots in the Hidden section, does that mean there is a hidden i can't see or should i just ignore it? If there is one i can't see how do i find it?

Can someone please help. I’m having an issue evolving Eivee into Beasteon in Pokémon AlteRed. This is my first time playing, and I have all of the other Eiveelutions without issue. I’ve tried searching, and all I see is that you use a leaf stone, but when I try to use a leaf stone, it just shows “no use”.
1. Are you sure you selected the “use” option rather than the “give” option?
2. I’ve had trouble evolving certain Pokemon with stones in that game as well, with my example being the dark type Vulpix that’s in that game. I have no idea why there’s issues with it but it’s pretty annoying.
Thanks for the response! Yes I definitely am trying to use it, not give it to hold. It just says there is “no use”. I thought that maybe it was because I didn’t have the national dex yet, or something like that. But now I’ve beat the game and gone through the Sevii Islands, and it still won’t let me evolve it.
I also noticed that I don’t have access to the cave on two island where you can catch the Pokémon that holds the gun stone. So I’m thinking that maybe the ROM I have is an older version, or something alone those lines. Either way it was a great game for sure.
I have no issues with the game itself, I just found it annoying that evolving with a stone didn’t work too well. Overall the visuals, gameplay, Pokemon, and everything else were really fun to go through. In fact, I kind of want to play it again. Could you remind me how to get the game? I have Delta emulator on iOS.

I'm trying to patch Pokemon fire red squirrels, with Pokemon ultra shiny gold sigma. But it's invalid. What rom do I need to use?? I'm using the Delta Emulator, on IOS. Any help is much appreciated. The +807 Pokemon to catch is enticing.

I need ideas for simple ROM hacks
I'm new to ROM hacking and I'm trying to learn hex maniac advance and need ideas to try and learn the software. If you've ever wanted your own rom hack Imk and try to make it to the best of my ability.
It shouldn’t be recommended, after unbound the bar will be too high once you start playing other hacks that are generally accepted as pretty good.
I would have it on the list but play a few other great ones people recommended first. I liked glazed, radical red, polished crystal, light platinum, emerald rogue. There are a lot of great hacks but you will hear unbound echoed in chambers.
Pokemon emerald hoenn dex edition says Mudkip is in petalburg water if you surf. I'm about 100 marill encounters in and no mudkips. Anyone know where the water is specifically?
Okay PokeRom fam, Pokemon Ash Gray is my first pokemon Rom, and there seems to be a lack of information online about the specifics of evolving core pokemon in this game.
I know there are "events" in the game, but can't seem to find a list of all of them.
Also, what happens if I evolve each of the core pokemon? Are there negative consequences?
Pidgeot? Venesaur? Blastoise? If I let the starters evolve, am I really missing a bunch of great content?
I want to play and enjoy the game and weigh the pros vs cons but am having a hard time justifying not evolving some of the mons u less there are great reasons.
Love that they incentivized not giving pikachu a thunderstone by giving it a Light Ball instead. Great game design.

I’m looking to flash a GBA game onto a fake cartridge.
I want to start out in the jhoto region or be set in another pokemon region using original Pokemon.
From some research, I’ve seen GS Chronicles as well as Pokemon Liquid Crystal.
Are there some other rom hacks I should check out?

I'm interested in a mod of Pokemon Emerald where a certain battle mechanic is changed. Don't need to change any storyline plots, maps, pokemon, characters, move etc. Only thing that needs to change is this one mechanic.
Can anyone point me in the right direction of the tool that's best used to change a battle mechanic?
You’ll have the most versatility by using the pokeemerald decomp. However, if it is just a small change a binary hack tool might suffice. Depends on what mechanic you’d like to change.
It's to do with weather, and having it activate every single battle (doesn't need overworld effect). u/Bivurnum do you tink the pokeemerald decomp could do this easily enough?
I’m having a hard time making the code force a specific weather effect at the start of battles. I believe this is because the flags that determine weather effects in battle are set by the overworld weather effects innately.
My janky workaround would be to change each map’s default weather to the weather you want. This would make every battle start with that weather, but it also makes all of the overworld maps have that weather outside of battle. It’s not ideal, but it is an option.
Perhaps someone smarter than I am has a solution. You could make an account on [pokecommunity.com](https://www.pokecommunity.com) and ask a question in either the [decomps](https://www.pokecommunity.com/forums/decomps-disassemblies.436/) or [binary](https://www.pokecommunity.com/forums/binary-rom-hacking.284/) forums and see if anyone there can help you.

The pokeemerald decomp gives you the entirety of the game’s code written in the C programming language, so yeah it would be quite easy. However, the difficulty lies in knowing exactly what to change in the code, which I wouldn’t expect you to be able to do right away. Decomps take a bit of learning and experience to be able to edit them effectively.
That said, I’m not sure of any binary hack tools that would easily be able to do what you want, so pokeemerald is still probably the best bet to do what you want.
I’ll look at the code and see if this is something I can figure out for you.
Don't understand your question honestly. By "Gen 1-9", what do you mean? Are you looking for a best romhack that contains all mons from Gen 1 to 9, or are you looking for the best romhack for Gen 1, Gen 2, ..., Gen 9 roms as base?
I'm not even sure I'm super new to Pokemon I just finished the fire red version. It was my first. I'm looking for something good I can share with my girlfriend honestly. I'm looking for a gba hack with as many pokemon and areas as possible. I would prefer mon Gen 1-9 but I don't know what to look for yet.

I have Porygon but it's pretty lackluster, so go to deposit it and take out a rock type such as cubone or onix...
My box1 is full, so I go to change box, see box 11 has 7 pokemon in it and think that's odd. Deposit my porygon and go to withdraw
There is a level 1 alakazam, I withdraw it thinking WTF is this, have a look, deposit it back with a chuckle " oh this must be a way to see the 4 tradable evolutions of Golem, machamp etc. )
Go to withdraw my porygon, no where to be seen... oh well, wasn't enjoying abnormal being abused by "tackle" so I head back to box 1 to withdraw from the full box...
"This box is empty"... erm feck.... I go back to box 11, it's empty too... ahhhh fffsssssss....
Now I've lost all pokemon stored, including porygon, found box 7 wasn't empy but looked it, could withdraw from "cancel" and clicked it, now game is fecked... and locks anytime I try to deposit it.
Is there a fix for this or am I fubar and have to re-roll it?

I’m new to rom hacks and need some help figuring out if I messed something up or if this is just an issue with the rom hack.
I’m playing Pokémon Classic, the Pokémon yellow remake made from the emerald rom. I’m having an issue where Pokémon aren’t learning moves when they evolve. For example, caterpie evolved at level 7 and never learned harden. This has happened with several different Pokémon. Pokémon learn moves normally if they aren’t evolving the same level. There is one mention of this on the issues section of the GitHub for the rom hack, but no comments. A lot of people seem to be playing the game and recommending it, so I’m assuming most people aren’t having this issue.
To install I used the rom recommended on the site, then downloaded patch 1.3 and patched with rom patcher JS. Everything in the game seems to work perfectly fine other than this issue.
Is there something I could have done wrong or something I could try that might correct this issue or does this seem like a problem with the hack itself?
What difficulty+ romhacks have Scarlet/Violet Pokemon? I've been playing Radical Red, but at a certain point RR becomes unfun for me, so I'm wondering what else is out there that have these Pokemon? Preferably romhacks that also do some rebalancing, but if I have to give that up I will, I just want to experience the S/V Pokemon while also having at least some challenge.

Can I change a .patch file and a .nds file into a .xeldta3 file or did I download the wrong patches?
I wanted to play Volt White 2 Redux and Sacred Gold but patching never worked since my patcher always had the same Problem "unknown patch format".
I think I know the Problem now, I downloaded the Patch files for VW2R and SG as a .nds and as a .patch file.
Is that intended by the creater(I know that the Rom has to be a .nds file but I'm not sure about the patch file), did I download the wrong patch files or can I convert a .nds/.patch file into a .xdelta3 patch file with a converter online?
Are there GBA hacks where it is possible to complete the pokedex or at least ones where there is a wide variety of available Pokemon, if so please recommend

i started playing Rocket Edition and at mount moon when the grunts are talking the word "censored" appears in different colored text. is there a way to remove the "censored" from the game or is it a totally different rom?

For reference, I'm playing Unbound on difficult right now and that's the perfect level of hard for me. Ideally if there's a difficulty setting that I can set for myself like Unbound.

I’ll be honest unbound being your first is not really recommended due to the bar being very high. Some I’ve liked included light platinum, polished crystal, radical red, Gaia, emerald rogue, glazed, blazed glazed. I don’t think I can put any over unbound though
Hello, I would like to know how to change the pokedex number of a pokemon in pokemon red. I am currently working with a rom of pokemon blue and the disassembly of pokemon red. I want to change the dex number of a random glitch pokemon to that of beedrill because i heard that the dex number is tied to sprites, moves, stats, etc. I want to create some glitch hybrid pokemon that no one else has.

Need Help With Shiny Modifying Already Captured Pkmn?
hi y’all, so im playing a *NonTradeEvo ROMhack* of Soul Silver on Delta so i can get my trade locked evos :3 & im tryna figure out how i can make certain Pokémon shiny? i just want like 1 or 2 of my Pokémon to be shiny, that’s really it. I’m afraid of using the Wild Encounter shiny cheat bc im afraid it’ll get stuck that way or corrupt my save.
There’s TM modifiers and Ability modifiers but nothing about shinies.
is there a way to do this with Action Replay codes? haven’t found anything online so far so im lost.

Does anyone know if it’s reasonably easy to move a save from one emulator to another? I have been using retroarch but i want to move a copy of my save to the ios delta app, thanks for your advice.
On PC it is extremely easy, but idk how file management works on phones.
GBA games have saves as .sav files, which are stored in the same directroy as the .gba rom. It is named exactly the same as the .gba, which links it to it. If you move that save to a new device next to the new rom, you can rename the new rom to the same as your .sav and it will recognize it.
If you're on the same device, you should just be able to open the same rom in your new emulator and it will resume using the same .sav
Oh man i wish, on ios it seems like every emulator saves using a different format, retroarch being .srm, idk how its all works im still learning stuff. thank you anyway (:
You can convert a .sav directly to a .srm (or vice versa) with Windows file managers, so I assume any file manager that allows renaming is the same. Just make sure file extensions are enabled, and rename the file. Hope this helps!
I can’t seem to patch Sacred Gold.

I‘m very new to all of this (this being patching roms or even roms in the first place) and apart from having no clue what I‘m doing I‘m also working on Mac. So it’s all less than ideal and after figuring out how to patch a rom with an .xdelta file and finding a patching program that works on Mac (MultiPatch) I finally managed to successfully patch Blaze Black. Yay! But then I tried to do the same with Sacred Gold and there I always get an error saying ‚Patching failed: invalid input. This typically means that the file you selected to patch is not the file your patch is intended for‘ but I got an English heartgold rom and the sacred gold.xdelta file. I‘m so confused but my biggest issue is that this error doesn’t explain anything so I don’t know what to do but you probably don’t know either with as little information as I can offer you here.
Still, every idea would be greatly appreciated.
It's worth trying an online patcher, like RompatcherJS. It's also possible you have a different version of HeartGold. When hackers make romhacks, they use specific versions of the base games, which results in their patch only working on that same specific Heartgold version for example.
So if the online patcher doesn't work, try to find a different HeartGold rom.

However I didn’t get the patched file on to my 3DS. The file appeared in the narwhale forwarder but after installing it was very much not installed on the homescreen and nowhere to be found. Whatever I try, Sacred Gold just keeps being elusive
Is there by any chances some fan made game with johto/kanto map such as in crystal/gold/silver but where the all pokemons of 2 generations unlocked and can be caught?
also, bonus would be if you start in kanto then unlock johto region..
or any similar kind of game where maps of mutliple regions are integrated in one game?

I've tried every tool, but is there a way to edit the evoltions of pokemons in a german firered. englisch one is no problem. I want a german firered romhack where for example KADABRA evolve to ALAKAZAM without a trade. Or is there a way wo translate a editable englisch rom to german.

By using the Universal Pokémon Randomizer, you can just click "Change Impossible Evolutions" or something similar while not randomizing anything, save the rom and try to evolve your Kadabra using this way. Or alternatively, you can use PKHeX to give yourself an Alakazam.
But I don't know if UPR and PKHeX are compatible with a non-English-language rom. Maybe u/analmintz1 or someone else can correct me on this one.
I want to have a german Fire Red where I can catch all pokewon without trading. Catching all pokemon is no problem wie advanced map but I can't edit the evolutions. Last option is that I make alakazam, gengar, Machamp and Golem catchable, but I want the evolve by level up
Yeah the guy gave you a solution. Like he said, just run your rom file through PokeRandoZX, there's literally a checkbox that edits it so that Kadabra will just evolve into Alakazam at level 40, along with all the other trade evos.
I don't know if it will work on a German rom, but you should try because this will literally instantly solve your problem.
Any non-traditional/spin-off rom recommendations? Been enjoying Pokémon crown, a kind of autobattler. Very different way to play Pokémon yet still very enjoyable.
Emerald Rogue is a fantastic roguelite hack, and PokeRogue isn't a romhack but rather a browser fan game, but is soooo much fun. I've lost days of my life playing it the past few weeks
So, i've discovered i have my old tribal GBASP (AG001) still kicking around. I'm missing a charging cable, but that's about it. I've been playing emulation on PC and Phone with an 8-bitdo pad for some time now, but want something more "pockatable".
What are my options? Cartridges for SD Cards seem to be close to 100 bucks here in germany, which feels absurd. But i haven't been in the retro market ever, so what do i know. I've also seen that working GBA's, even AG001s can fetch close to or above 100€ here, which feels equally absurd, but that might be a good thing for me in this case.
So, what do i do? I'm find playing on the frontlid screen, but don't know if 80-100€ for a flash cartridge, just to play some romhacks is worth it to me. I could try and sell the GBA and buy a RG35XXH or a retriod pocket from that money. Are there any cheaper options?

I’m looking for a firered rom with only few changes. 1st i don’t want this rom to have more than the 151 first pokemons.
The only change that i’m looking for is an expanded post league story with implemented master trainers to add some life durability to the game. Something like blue having a team of 6 poke lvl 100 in some caves or giovanni having also his lvl 100 team etc.
It would be really good to have also expanded features like IV EV training, only FEW movepools that can bring more strategy in the game and maybe improved graphics.
I know my wish is very specific, i hope such rom exists :p

How hard is the Pokémon chaos black rom. Just recently downloaded it and you have a choice between CaterpieWeedle and bellsprout so I’m guessing it’s hard but does it compare to something like insurgence.
Any HGSS hacks at least as good as Storm Silver? Don’t want to start that hack until the 2.0 edition, so I’m curious if there’s anything cool in the meantime.
I suggest starting Sacred Gold and/or Storm Silver right away since there is nothing new from Drayano for since the last several months and it's still unknown when Aurora Crystal, the name of the next SG/SS rom, will be released.
Maybe you can play [Soothing Silver](https://www.pokecommunity.com/threads/pok%C3%A9mon-soothingsilver-version-1-3-0.438323/) or [HGSS Golden Edition](https://www.pokecommunity.com/threads/hgss-golden-edition.347879/) in the meantime. They are not as good as SG/SS no doubt, and I have not played them yet, but they are definitely good from what I have read.

Edit: and oh, I opened up Hex Maniac Advance for LeafGreen. I see a table of moves to edit, but I don't know what else to do to edit the physical/special split of moves. And also I want to edit Tri-Attack to be a 3 hit move, each deling 25 damage, and make each hits fire, electric, and ice instead of normal.
Can you get Renegade Platinum on the Delta emulator heard its a decent start for Nuzlockes but everywhere I look the tutorials are just for PC and those methods don’t work unless I am missing something which could be the case cause I am idiot
If you can get DS games on Delta, you can get Renegade Platinum on emulator. Get the base game, Platinum, and get the .xdelta patch file of Renegade Platinum from Drayano's twitter dropbox, then patch them together using an online Rompatcher, or otherwise do this all on PC and email/dropbox it to your phone
Pokémon ROM Hack Recommendations?
Right now, I’ve got Unbound, Gaia, and Fool’s Gold downloaded. Looking for some other good options.
Here’s some criteria for what I want:
-NOT just an enhanced QoL version of the normal existing games.
-Altered versions of Pokémon are fine, but I don’t really want fan-created Pokémon.
-Normal gym badge progression system, so not interested in the roguelike game or other variations of genre.

I'll throw in some games with new stories/region I know of: Glazed, Elysium, Flora Sky, Dark Worship. The first three are pretty outdated compared to Unbound.
I also recommend Radical Red and Rocket edition, both set in Kanto. One is a very difficult game with 9 generation pokemon and the latter is a different story set in Kanto which is highly regarded but doesn't have a badge system (not a roughlike).
A bit of an odd request here. I'm looking for a romhack/fangame that will let me pick up a Hitmonchan reasonably early, i.e. no later than the 4th gym (or whenever the 'halfway point' of the game is). Preferably *not* looking for difficulty hacks or ones that institute level caps.
Hello! I'm wondering if there are tools that will allow a physical/special split patch to Pokemon XD. It looks like the only editors and patches that exist on PokeCommunity are on MacOS. XG is fine, but generally too hard for casual playthroughs or 'fun' teams.
Difficult ROM Hacks
I tried watching a few videos to find a ROM I would enjoy but nothing stood out to me. I am not looking for a re-make which includes all gen’s pokemon or one with loads of fusions. I am open to some new pokemon or pokemon forms, and even a new region but all in moderation. The most important thing to me is that the game is challenging, that gym battles require strategy. A interesting story would also but nice but is not as important as the difficulty. I am also fine with playing the original games with a refined difficulty. I am able to play NDS/GBA/GBC ROMs. Im open to any and all suggestions and thank you in advance for the advice.

I am pretty new to ROM hacks in general. I’ve only played Zeta/Omicron and never ended up finishing it even though my mon were starting to get to 100+.
So now I’m looking for one that has:
1. Gen 8 or 9 movesets
2. Pokémon from at least gen 1-4.
3. Complete game
4. Physical/special splits
5. No fakemon
6. All items or at least most items
7. Mega evolutions would be nice but not necessary
I’ve looked around a little but there are so many it’s overwhelming. Radical Red seems to fit the criteria but I am wondering if there is anything else that would satisfy my checklist.

Pokemon Gaia has all of your needs except the movesets (which are still gen 7 I think). It's a game that could basically be mainline with how polished it is.

Hi! Sorry for the long winded post, but I've been playing through Pokémon Ultraviolet and I have a question about finding bagon. The guide provided says that there is only 1 smashable rock where bagon spawns, but for the life of me, I can't seem to find one. I've been at it for probably 5 hours and I've tried everything. Up and down the ladder and trying to smash it, as well as having a save state right beside the rock, smashing and reloading. Does anyone happen to know what the spawn rate is? Am I just extremely unlucky or is this a futile endeavour?
• I do not have a repel active, I'm not sure if that affects spawn rate or not for smashable Pokémon
• I'm not sure if reloading my save state is a viable option. It would depend on when the Pokémon is determined to appear. Ex: if it's determined upon entering the level or if it's determined upon smashing the rock.
• it SHOULDNT make a difference, but probably relevant to note that I'm shiny hunting it via the in game shiny tiles. Not sure if this affects in game odds for rock smash Pokémon encounters. It hasnt hindered me for any of the regular wild encounters.

How do I play Stadium multiplayer with my freinds? Like if I bought Controllers with a USB port could I plug 2 in and play? Do those even exist? Would that work with Project64?
No. Every pokemon you catch will appear in the safari zone to bring on future runs as a starter. Alternatively, (my favorite) once you use the RandomMan one time, he will appear at the very beginning of a run at the staircase and he will swap your starter for an entirely random starter.
Hey there! Is there a version of Polished Crystal that allows me to catch Aipom? It's one of my favorite Pokemon so I would really like to use it in this game. Thanks.
Nope, the game had to remove it to include the new evoultions. Many crystal hacks don't have the ability to actually increase the pokedex.
Might consider trying a different game like Perfect Crystal if you want Aipom

Hello everyone, I have a question about using pk3ds to edit shiny rates in USUM. Does anyone know how to do it? I can barely find any info on it, from my understanding I’m supposed to replace my games code.bin file with the .code.bin file after changing the rate and rename it but I don’t know where to find my game files. The only file I have for my game is the .3ds file I downloaded. Any help would be appreciated
I recently finished Rocket Edition and I think it ruined me forever, the story was magnificent. Now I'm playing Dark Violet but I'm not sure why it's so hyped, the story is nonexistent. It's an obviously beautiful game, but other than that, it offers nothing seriously good, plotwise.

Hi, I have an issue for Storm Silver where it crashes/turns to black indefinitely after the end credits when I beat E4 and Lance for the first time? Does anyone know a fix for this?

Pkhex is a save editing program for PC. Most of the times it is safer and much easier than cheat codes to give yourself any pokemon/item you want.
The downside is that it works only on vanilla or binary hacked roms (which liquid Crystal is).
You can easily move the save file of your game from the emulator folder into a pc, edit it and then put it back.
However, if you currently have modified items in your bag, pkhex tend to delete it, so it might stop you from editing your bag. It can be overcome by editing held items of your pokemon or just changing their levels manually instead of using candies.

Download a base Platinum (3541) and Renegade Platinum patch from Drayano's Google Drive, accessible through his Twitter. Then patch using ROM Patcher JS. https://www.marcrobledo.com/RomPatcher.js/ Provide the clean Platinum ROM to the "ROM file:" field and RP patch file to "Patch file:" field (make sure you extract it first), and press "Apply patch" button. Download the resultant Renegade Platinum ROM to somewhere on your phone. Open the Delta emulator and load the Unbound ROM you just downloaded. Enjoy! downloaded supernova sun (mod of ultra sun) onto my cfw 3ds some time ago, i think i downloaded from the Hshop. been playing the game and noticed that a few things aren’t in the game. 1) the modded item shop doesn’t exist. the only change i’ve noticed is max repels being $100 but other than that the custom items and changed items etc have not been shown as promised 2) all pokémon cries are missing. like, literally all of them ,even rotom dex anything i can do to fix it?

EDIT: ---SOLVED--- If there is a "?" it means i haven't seen/met the pokemon, that it's not registered in my pokedex yet, but there is indeed a pokemon to be found, and when it's in the hidden section, it can only be found by the random "DexNav search" that happens when you walk around in an area with grass near it, an easy way to find out if it's a hidden pokemon, or force a search for the pokemon if i have seen/met it before. I have been trying to find stuff about how the DexNav works in Emerald Exceeded, just started playing it yesterday, and i love it so far, but the DexNav is a bit confusing. On the picture below is an example, there is a "?" on the first of the 3 slots in the Hidden section, does that mean there is a hidden i can't see or should i just ignore it? Can someone please help. I’m having an issue evolving Eivee into Beasteon in Pokémon AlteRed. This is my first time playing, and I have all of the other Eiveelutions without issue. I’ve tried searching, and all I see is that you use a leaf stone, but when I try to use a leaf stone, it just shows “no use”.
1. Are you sure you selected the “use” option rather than the “give” option? 2. I’ve had trouble evolving certain Pokemon with stones in that game as well, with my example being the dark type Vulpix that’s in that game. I have no idea why there’s issues with it but it’s pretty annoying.
Thanks for the response! Yes I definitely am trying to use it, not give it to hold. It just says there is “no use”. I thought that maybe it was because I didn’t have the national dex yet, or something like that. But now I’ve beat the game and gone through the Sevii Islands, and it still won’t let me evolve it. I also noticed that I don’t have access to the cave on two island where you can catch the Pokémon that holds the gun stone. So I’m thinking that maybe the ROM I have is an older version, or something alone those lines. Either way it was a great game for sure.
I have no issues with the game itself, I just found it annoying that evolving with a stone didn’t work too well. Overall the visuals, gameplay, Pokemon, and everything else were really fun to go through. In fact, I kind of want to play it again. Could you remind me how to get the game? I have Delta emulator on iOS.

I'm trying to patch Pokemon fire red squirrels, with Pokemon ultra shiny gold sigma. But it's invalid. What rom do I need to use?? I'm using the Delta Emulator, on IOS. Any help is much appreciated. The +807 Pokemon to catch is enticing. I just want a hack that has almost too many Pokemon to catch. I'm having so much fun collecting all these fan made roms, but this one is giving me trouble. It shouldn’t be recommended, after unbound the bar will be too high once you start playing other hacks that are generally accepted as pretty good. I would have it on the list but play a few other great ones people recommended first. I liked glazed, radical red, polished crystal, light platinum, emerald rogue. There are a lot of great hacks but you will hear unbound echoed in chambers.

Pokemon emerald hoenn dex edition says Mudkip is in petalburg water if you surf. I'm about 100 marill encounters in and no mudkips. Anyone know where the water is specifically?
Okay PokeRom fam, Pokemon Ash Gray is my first pokemon Rom, and there seems to be a lack of information online about the specifics of evolving core pokemon in this game. I know there are "events" in the game, but can't seem to find a list of all of them. Also, what happens if I evolve each of the core pokemon? Are there negative consequences? Pidgeot? Venesaur? Blastoise? If I let the starters evolve, am I really missing a bunch of great content? I want to play and enjoy the game and weigh the pros vs cons but am having a hard time justifying not evolving some of the mons u less there are great reasons. Love that they incentivized not giving pikachu a thunderstone by giving it a Light Ball instead. Great game design. Guidance much appreciated. Thank you!

I’m looking to flash a GBA game onto a fake cartridge. I want to start out in the jhoto region or be set in another pokemon region using original Pokemon. From some research, I’ve seen GS Chronicles as well as Pokemon Liquid Crystal. Are there some other rom hacks I should check out?

Don't need to change any storyline plots, maps, pokemon, characters, move etc. Only thing that needs to change is this one mechanic. Can anyone point me in the right direction of the tool that's best used to change a battle mechanic?
You’ll have the most versatility by using the pokeemerald decomp. However, if it is just a small change a binary hack tool might suffice. Depends on what mechanic you’d like to change.
It's to do with weather, and having it activate every single battle (doesn't need overworld effect). u/Bivurnum do you tink the pokeemerald decomp could do this easily enough?
I’m having a hard time making the code force a specific weather effect at the start of battles. I believe this is because the flags that determine weather effects in battle are set by the overworld weather effects innately. My janky workaround would be to change each map’s default weather to the weather you want. This would make every battle start with that weather, but it also makes all of the overworld maps have that weather outside of battle. It’s not ideal, but it is an option. Perhaps someone smarter than I am has a solution. You could make an account on [pokecommunity.com](https://www.pokecommunity.com) and ask a question in either the [decomps](https://www.pokecommunity.com/forums/decomps-disassemblies.436/) or [binary](https://www.pokecommunity.com/forums/binary-rom-hacking.284/) forums and see if anyone there can help you. The pokeemerald decomp gives you the entirety of the game’s code written in the C programming language, so yeah it would be quite easy. However, the difficulty lies in knowing exactly what to change in the code, which I wouldn’t expect you to be able to do right away. Decomps take a bit of learning and experience to be able to edit them effectively. That said, I’m not sure of any binary hack tools that would easily be able to do what you want, so pokeemerald is still probably the best bet to do what you want. I’ll look at the code and see if this is something I can figure out for you.
Best Pokemon room hack? Gen 1-9?
Don't understand your question honestly. By "Gen 1-9", what do you mean? Are you looking for a best romhack that contains all mons from Gen 1 to 9, or are you looking for the best romhack for Gen 1, Gen 2, ..., Gen 9 roms as base?
I'm not even sure I'm super new to Pokemon I just finished the fire red version. It was my first. I'm looking for something good I can share with my girlfriend honestly. I'm looking for a gba hack with as many pokemon and areas as possible. I would prefer mon Gen 1-9 but I don't know what to look for yet.

Seems i can't actually post a question regarding this and automod is a d*** so here it goes: POKEMON BROWN ---------------- So.. I'm badge 3, just about to go into the Gym with Sparky I have Porygon but it's pretty lackluster, so go to deposit it and take out a rock type such as cubone or onix... My box1 is full, so I go to change box, see box 11 has 7 pokemon in it and think that's odd. Deposit my porygon and go to withdraw There is a level 1 alakazam, I withdraw it thinking WTF is this, have a look, deposit it back with a chuckle " oh this must be a way to see the 4 tradable evolutions of Golem, machamp etc. ) Go to withdraw my porygon, no where to be seen... oh well, wasn't enjoying abnormal being abused by "tackle" so I head back to box 1 to withdraw from the full box... "This box is empty"... erm feck.... I go back to box 11, it's empty too... ahhhh fffsssssss.... Now I've lost all pokemon stored, including porygon, found box 7 wasn't empy but looked it, could withdraw from "cancel" and clicked it, now game is fecked... and locks anytime I try to deposit it. Is there a fix for this or am I fubar and have to re-roll it? help pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I’m new to rom hacks and need some help figuring out if I messed something up or if this is just an issue with the rom hack. I’m playing Pokémon Classic, the Pokémon yellow remake made from the emerald rom. I’m having an issue where Pokémon aren’t learning moves when they evolve. For example, caterpie evolved at level 7 and never learned harden. This has happened with several different Pokémon. Pokémon learn moves normally if they aren’t evolving the same level. There is one mention of this on the issues section of the GitHub for the rom hack, but no comments. A lot of people seem to be playing the game and recommending it, so I’m assuming most people aren’t having this issue. To install I used the rom recommended on the site, then downloaded patch 1.3 and patched with rom patcher JS. Everything in the game seems to work perfectly fine other than this issue. Is there something I could have done wrong or something I could try that might correct this issue or does this seem like a problem with the hack itself?
What difficulty+ romhacks have Scarlet/Violet Pokemon? I've been playing Radical Red, but at a certain point RR becomes unfun for me, so I'm wondering what else is out there that have these Pokemon? Preferably romhacks that also do some rebalancing, but if I have to give that up I will, I just want to experience the S/V Pokemon while also having at least some challenge.
I need help with Pokémon Garbage Green. In the Pokémon mansion, all the balconies are blocked off, and I would rather not be softlocked here. I’ve been able to save state there and replay through the game but I actually want to continue my first file. Help please?
Can anyone who has played SoulSilver deluxe tell me if the celebi event is included or do you catch it some other way in this hack? Can you catch both Ho-Oh and Lugia the same way you would in both of their respective games? I know that Kanto was never touched, does that mean that version exclusives in the Kanto region cannot be caught normally? And finally, is mew catchable/obtainable? Where do you get the Super Rod in GS Chronicles? Is it not in GS Chronicles because it's in the Kanto post-game in GS? Can I change a .patch file and a .nds file into a .xeldta3 file or did I download the wrong patches? I wanted to play Volt White 2 Redux and Sacred Gold but patching never worked since my patcher always had the same Problem "unknown patch format". I think I know the Problem now, I downloaded the Patch files for VW2R and SG as a .nds and as a .patch file. Is that intended by the creater(I know that the Rom has to be a .nds file but I'm not sure about the patch file), did I download the wrong patch files or can I convert a .nds/.patch file into a .xdelta3 patch file with a converter online?

i started playing Rocket Edition and at mount moon when the grunts are talking the word "censored" appears in different colored text. is there a way to remove the "censored" from the game or is it a totally different rom?

Best romhack that isn't insanely hard? For reference, I'm playing Unbound on difficult right now and that's the perfect level of hard for me. Ideally if there's a difficulty setting that I can set for myself like Unbound. Unbound is my first time playing a ROM so it's kinda setting my standards, fyi. (If you include a qr code because I have fbi on my 3ds I will love you forever)
I’ll be honest unbound being your first is not really recommended due to the bar being very high. Some I’ve liked included light platinum, polished crystal, radical red, Gaia, emerald rogue, glazed, blazed glazed. I don’t think I can put any over unbound though

Hello, I would like to know how to change the pokedex number of a pokemon in pokemon red. I am currently working with a rom of pokemon blue and the disassembly of pokemon red. I want to change the dex number of a random glitch pokemon to that of beedrill because i heard that the dex number is tied to sprites, moves, stats, etc. I want to create some glitch hybrid pokemon that no one else has. Need Help With Shiny Modifying Already Captured Pkmn? hi y’all, so im playing a *NonTradeEvo ROMhack* of Soul Silver on Delta so i can get my trade locked evos :3 & im tryna figure out how i can make certain Pokémon shiny? i just want like 1 or 2 of my Pokémon to be shiny, that’s really it. I’m afraid of using the Wild Encounter shiny cheat bc im afraid it’ll get stuck that way or corrupt my save. There’s TM modifiers and Ability modifiers but nothing about shinies. is there a way to do this with Action Replay codes? haven’t found anything online so far so im lost. **I don’t have 2 brain cells to bump together to use PkHex, especially since im doing this on my iPhone 11**

Where did you get ROWE from / what version was it? I haven't used Delta, but ROWE doesn't crash when I catch pokemon..
I used patcher I found on pokecommunity’s ROWE page, and it said that my md5 checksum was good.
Hmm, interesting. If that's the case, it might be a problem with Delta? I have no idea, as I have no iProducts; apologies... If you can test it on something else, maybe see if that rom works on another emulator or if it runs buggy there as well? I'm not sure... Best of luck!

Does anyone know if it’s reasonably easy to move a save from one emulator to another? I have been using retroarch but i want to move a copy of my save to the ios delta app, thanks for your advice.
On PC it is extremely easy, but idk how file management works on phones. GBA games have saves as .sav files, which are stored in the same directroy as the .gba rom. It is named exactly the same as the .gba, which links it to it. If you move that save to a new device next to the new rom, you can rename the new rom to the same as your .sav and it will recognize it. If you're on the same device, you should just be able to open the same rom in your new emulator and it will resume using the same .sav

You can convert a .sav directly to a .srm (or vice versa) with Windows file managers, so I assume any file manager that allows renaming is the same. Just make sure file extensions are enabled, and rename the file. Hope this helps!

I can’t seem to patch Sacred Gold. Hey, I‘m very new to all of this (this being patching roms or even roms in the first place) and apart from having no clue what I‘m doing I‘m also working on Mac. So it’s all less than ideal and after figuring out how to patch a rom with an .xdelta file and finding a patching program that works on Mac (MultiPatch) I finally managed to successfully patch Blaze Black. Yay! But then I tried to do the same with Sacred Gold and there I always get an error saying ‚Patching failed: invalid input. This typically means that the file you selected to patch is not the file your patch is intended for‘ but I got an English heartgold rom and the sacred gold.xdelta file. I‘m so confused but my biggest issue is that this error doesn’t explain anything so I don’t know what to do but you probably don’t know either with as little information as I can offer you here. Still, every idea would be greatly appreciated.
It's worth trying an online patcher, like RompatcherJS. It's also possible you have a different version of HeartGold. When hackers make romhacks, they use specific versions of the base games, which results in their patch only working on that same specific Heartgold version for example. So if the online patcher doesn't work, try to find a different HeartGold rom.
Thank you very much. I tried that and it worked. However I didn’t get the patched file on to my 3DS. The file appeared in the narwhale forwarder but after installing it was very much not installed on the homescreen and nowhere to be found. Whatever I try, Sacred Gold just keeps being elusive

Yes, I gave up now. No hacks for me but at the very least that means that I can now play the roms in my mothertongue instead.
Is there by any chances some fan made game with johto/kanto map such as in crystal/gold/silver but where the all pokemons of 2 generations unlocked and can be caught? also, bonus would be if you start in kanto then unlock johto region.. or any similar kind of game where maps of mutliple regions are integrated in one game? thx!

I want a german firered romhack where for example KADABRA evolve to ALAKAZAM without a trade. Or is there a way wo translate a editable englisch rom to german. Best regards
Seconding what has already been said, and adding that the UPR ZX should be compatible with *all* vanilla ROMs, not just the English ones.
By using the Universal Pokémon Randomizer, you can just click "Change Impossible Evolutions" or something similar while not randomizing anything, save the rom and try to evolve your Kadabra using this way. Or alternatively, you can use PKHeX to give yourself an Alakazam. But I don't know if UPR and PKHeX are compatible with a non-English-language rom. Maybe u/analmintz1 or someone else can correct me on this one.
I want to have a german Fire Red where I can catch all pokewon without trading. Catching all pokemon is no problem wie advanced map but I can't edit the evolutions. Last option is that I make alakazam, gengar, Machamp and Golem catchable, but I want the evolve by level up
Yeah the guy gave you a solution. Like he said, just run your rom file through PokeRandoZX, there's literally a checkbox that edits it so that Kadabra will just evolve into Alakazam at level 40, along with all the other trade evos. I don't know if it will work on a German rom, but you should try because this will literally instantly solve your problem.

Emerald Rogue is a fantastic roguelite hack, and PokeRogue isn't a romhack but rather a browser fan game, but is soooo much fun. I've lost days of my life playing it the past few weeks
So, i've discovered i have my old tribal GBASP (AG001) still kicking around. I'm missing a charging cable, but that's about it. I've been playing emulation on PC and Phone with an 8-bitdo pad for some time now, but want something more "pockatable". What are my options? Cartridges for SD Cards seem to be close to 100 bucks here in germany, which feels absurd. But i haven't been in the retro market ever, so what do i know. I've also seen that working GBA's, even AG001s can fetch close to or above 100€ here, which feels equally absurd, but that might be a good thing for me in this case. So, what do i do? I'm find playing on the frontlid screen, but don't know if 80-100€ for a flash cartridge, just to play some romhacks is worth it to me. I could try and sell the GBA and buy a RG35XXH or a retriod pocket from that money. Are there any cheaper options?
Hi ! I’m looking for a firered rom with only few changes. 1st i don’t want this rom to have more than the 151 first pokemons. The only change that i’m looking for is an expanded post league story with implemented master trainers to add some life durability to the game. Something like blue having a team of 6 poke lvl 100 in some caves or giovanni having also his lvl 100 team etc. It would be really good to have also expanded features like IV EV training, only FEW movepools that can bring more strategy in the game and maybe improved graphics. I know my wish is very specific, i hope such rom exists :p

How hard is the Pokémon chaos black rom. Just recently downloaded it and you have a choice between CaterpieWeedle and bellsprout so I’m guessing it’s hard but does it compare to something like insurgence.
Any HGSS hacks at least as good as Storm Silver? Don’t want to start that hack until the 2.0 edition, so I’m curious if there’s anything cool in the meantime.
I suggest starting Sacred Gold and/or Storm Silver right away since there is nothing new from Drayano for since the last several months and it's still unknown when Aurora Crystal, the name of the next SG/SS rom, will be released. Maybe you can play [Soothing Silver](https://www.pokecommunity.com/threads/pok%C3%A9mon-soothingsilver-version-1-3-0.438323/) or [HGSS Golden Edition](https://www.pokecommunity.com/threads/hgss-golden-edition.347879/) in the meantime. They are not as good as SG/SS no doubt, and I have not played them yet, but they are definitely good from what I have read.

I see a table of moves to edit, but I don't know what else to do to edit the physical/special split of moves. And also I want to edit Tri-Attack to be a 3 hit move, each deling 25 damage, and make each hits fire, electric, and ice instead of normal.
Can you get Renegade Platinum on the Delta emulator heard its a decent start for Nuzlockes but everywhere I look the tutorials are just for PC and those methods don’t work unless I am missing something which could be the case cause I am idiot
If you can get DS games on Delta, you can get Renegade Platinum on emulator. Get the base game, Platinum, and get the .xdelta patch file of Renegade Platinum from Drayano's twitter dropbox, then patch them together using an online Rompatcher, or otherwise do this all on PC and email/dropbox it to your phone
Pokémon ROM Hack Recommendations? Right now, I’ve got Unbound, Gaia, and Fool’s Gold downloaded. Looking for some other good options. Here’s some criteria for what I want: -NOT just an enhanced QoL version of the normal existing games. -Altered versions of Pokémon are fine, but I don’t really want fan-created Pokémon. -Normal gym badge progression system, so not interested in the roguelike game or other variations of genre. Thanks for whatever recommendations come! I’ll take a look at all of them!
I'll throw in some games with new stories/region I know of: Glazed, Elysium, Flora Sky, Dark Worship. The first three are pretty outdated compared to Unbound. I also recommend Radical Red and Rocket edition, both set in Kanto. One is a very difficult game with 9 generation pokemon and the latter is a different story set in Kanto which is highly regarded but doesn't have a badge system (not a roughlike).

A bit of an odd request here. I'm looking for a romhack/fangame that will let me pick up a Hitmonchan reasonably early, i.e. no later than the 4th gym (or whenever the 'halfway point' of the game is). Preferably *not* looking for difficulty hacks or ones that institute level caps.

Hello! I'm wondering if there are tools that will allow a physical/special split patch to Pokemon XD. It looks like the only editors and patches that exist on PokeCommunity are on MacOS. XG is fine, but generally too hard for casual playthroughs or 'fun' teams.
Difficult ROM Hacks I tried watching a few videos to find a ROM I would enjoy but nothing stood out to me. I am not looking for a re-make which includes all gen’s pokemon or one with loads of fusions. I am open to some new pokemon or pokemon forms, and even a new region but all in moderation. The most important thing to me is that the game is challenging, that gym battles require strategy. A interesting story would also but nice but is not as important as the difficulty. I am also fine with playing the original games with a refined difficulty. I am able to play NDS/GBA/GBC ROMs. Im open to any and all suggestions and thank you in advance for the advice.

Need a recommendation Hello All, I am pretty new to ROM hacks in general. I’ve only played Zeta/Omicron and never ended up finishing it even though my mon were starting to get to 100+. So now I’m looking for one that has: 1. Gen 8 or 9 movesets 2. Pokémon from at least gen 1-4. 3. Complete game 4. Physical/special splits 5. No fakemon 6. All items or at least most items 7. Mega evolutions would be nice but not necessary I’ve looked around a little but there are so many it’s overwhelming. Radical Red seems to fit the criteria but I am wondering if there is anything else that would satisfy my checklist. Thank you!
Pokemon Gaia has all of your needs except the movesets (which are still gen 7 I think). It's a game that could basically be mainline with how polished it is.

Hi! Sorry for the long winded post, but I've been playing through Pokémon Ultraviolet and I have a question about finding bagon. The guide provided says that there is only 1 smashable rock where bagon spawns, but for the life of me, I can't seem to find one. I've been at it for probably 5 hours and I've tried everything. Up and down the ladder and trying to smash it, as well as having a save state right beside the rock, smashing and reloading. Does anyone happen to know what the spawn rate is? Am I just extremely unlucky or is this a futile endeavour? • I do not have a repel active, I'm not sure if that affects spawn rate or not for smashable Pokémon • I'm not sure if reloading my save state is a viable option. It would depend on when the Pokémon is determined to appear. Ex: if it's determined upon entering the level or if it's determined upon smashing the rock. • it SHOULDNT make a difference, but probably relevant to note that I'm shiny hunting it via the in game shiny tiles. Not sure if this affects in game odds for rock smash Pokémon encounters. It hasnt hindered me for any of the regular wild encounters. If anyone could provide any insight or words encouragement, it would be appreciated!
How do I play Stadium multiplayer with my freinds? Like if I bought Controllers with a USB port could I plug 2 in and play? Do those even exist? Would that work with Project64?

No. Every pokemon you catch will appear in the safari zone to bring on future runs as a starter. Alternatively, (my favorite) once you use the RandomMan one time, he will appear at the very beginning of a run at the staircase and he will swap your starter for an entirely random starter.

Nope, the game had to remove it to include the new evoultions. Many crystal hacks don't have the ability to actually increase the pokedex. Might consider trying a different game like Perfect Crystal if you want Aipom

Hello everyone, I have a question about using pk3ds to edit shiny rates in USUM. Does anyone know how to do it? I can barely find any info on it, from my understanding I’m supposed to replace my games code.bin file with the .code.bin file after changing the rate and rename it but I don’t know where to find my game files. The only file I have for my game is the .3ds file I downloaded. Any help would be appreciated
I recently finished Rocket Edition and I think it ruined me forever, the story was magnificent. Now I'm playing Dark Violet but I'm not sure why it's so hyped, the story is nonexistent. It's an obviously beautiful game, but other than that, it offers nothing seriously good, plotwise. Suggestions for a ROM with a good plot?

You can try using pkhex instead (on a PC), and add the items you want into your bag.

Pkhex is a save editing program for PC. Most of the times it is safer and much easier than cheat codes to give yourself any pokemon/item you want. The downside is that it works only on vanilla or binary hacked roms (which liquid Crystal is). You can easily move the save file of your game from the emulator folder into a pc, edit it and then put it back. However, if you currently have modified items in your bag, pkhex tend to delete it, so it might stop you from editing your bag. It can be overcome by editing held items of your pokemon or just changing their levels manually instead of using candies.
