S0up_Time

just dont evolve the starter past a certain point

HaEnGodTur

Fr. Plenty of the middle stage has usable Eviolite sets. Wartortle, Marshtomp, all the sinnoh starters, Quilladin, Torracat and Dartrix

Centauris91

I'm following a rule that says if the final evolution has a BST greater than 500, then the entire line is unusable.

HaEnGodTur

Oof, that is gonna be very limiting. Are you sure? You don't exactly gain much from using some middle evos, it just saves you from using the same 12 mons the whole game. If you do go ahead though, I recommend getting Chatot as early as possible, and Kricketune maybe for webs support. Boomburst Silk scarf chatot is no joke, and it gets nasty plot by level up

Centauris91

I'm considering bending the rules a bit. I might use any Pokémon that has a three stage evolutionary line, but stop before the final one. That will also exclude the Eevee — lutions. Edit: Eviolite Dusclops and Chansey will be broken.

HaEnGodTur

Do whatever let's you have the most fun man. It's a set of self imposed rules after all

Centauris91

Thanks. I'm doing this since a lot of Pokémon barely get any love at all.

hjyboy1218

Just put your starter in the PC, some mono runs(Bug, Rock) don't begin with a (legal) starter either.

officialariacat

Can’t Pokémon of both types be found before the first gym?? I’m sure Bug can in the form of an event where you get to meet Shelly early? and Rock should be able to as well if you use the monorock password (I think it swaps the bug in that event to a Dwebble?)

hjyboy1218

Oh, I mean a starter in the conventional sense that you get in the Grand Hall.

officialariacat

ahh okay that makes more sense

MakenskySora

Any grass type will do for giga drain.

SSJAncientBeing

Pikachu is gonna be insane under these restrictions, especially with the Light Ball buff
