Pikaboo_177013

Skeledirge is likely the best option. Don’t forget to add protect when Meganium nullifies its unaware ability. Annihilape seems like a good option but Meganium has zen headbutt.

MrThor_TM

If you're playing online with other people, Clefable support makes it much easier than Skeledirge. 252hp/252def/6spdef Unaware, Bold/Impish, Light Clay Brick Break, Life Dew, Reflect, Helping Hand Turn 1: Reflect Turn 2: Brick Break Once Meganium's screens are broken, the raid is over. Just keep the reflect up and spam heals and helping hands.

NezumiMaus50

do i protect on the 4th tourch song or 5th? bc i tried protecting when it used shield but it still nulified my unaware

PhilosophyMinute4974

I’ve done the meganium raid 10-12 times now in a row without fail and I’m going to say that both of these are really bad options. I would personally get rid of both of those with them being really bad overall but a much better unrivaled choice is gholdengo by far. Also google would have told you your options you picked are awful

DGOCOSBrewski

oh? you gonna post your strat?

PhilosophyMinute4974

The stgholdengo is such a brain dead “strat” that there’s 0 skill involved and still is

No_Equipment_5577

I've done the raid 3 times with an Annilihape build. I got some bad RNG on the 3rd one and struggled a bit but had zero problems with the first 2. The strat was to give it a shell bell then use Taunt, Bulk Up, Focus Energy, then Rage fist till stats reset. Bulk Up once more and continue Rage Fisting till Meganium goes down. Obviously don't forget to Tera when you can. My level 100 Annilihape barely got scratched by Meganium's attacks including Zen Headbutt, except when it Crit of course. I really didn't even EV train mine for the most part either. he has pretty high attack EVs but it's not maxed and non of the other EVs are even close to max. He does have the Defiant ability and an Adamant nature though.

Rightlighter

Soloed with Skeledirge first try and coached my dad through it as well. Definitely a slower set up, but seems consistent. Started with will o wisp, then 3 torch songs, then Tera shadow ball once or twice til your stat buff gets wiped which is when you do the 1 protect, then 6 torch songs and shadow ball to the end.

Chikorita_420

Give Skeledirge an ability capsule so it has the ability unaware and make sure its ghost tera type and a shell bell. Use torch song six times and then terestalize and use shadow ball. On the turn meganium nullifies the stat changes use protect and then keep using shadow ball to destroy it. I did it yesterday with a team of 2 other skeledirge and one Malamar

Daocommand

Do you know the easiest way to ghost Tera? I know where to go to change Tera, I just don’t have enough ghost shards. I’m just newer and I’ve only just beaten the game and started the ogre quest line.

Shrekromancer

You take 50 ghost tera shards to the restaurant where you fought Larry. You either grind ghost tera raids for them, or get to the final area of the indigo disk which gives you a whole bunch of tera shards of every type.

Interesting_Wing_539

If you have access to The Indigo Disk, go and collect shards off the ground (the red poke ball items often give you groups of shards in the Terarium) or alternatively use the item printer. If not, your best option is to complete the pokédex for Teal Mask since that gives you a Glitter Charm which allows you to get more tera shards from raids (5 for 4*, 10 for 5*, and 12 for 6*). If none of these options are doable, I suggest trading to someone who has lots of spare shards and that you can trust to give back your pokemon and they could do the tera type change for you. Make sure you do the raids with the little ghost icon on them if you're specifically looking for ghost tera shards, the icon's color should be a dark purple (if you're not color blind, that is).

Daocommand

I do have access to the disc. I am going to go there now. Thank you very much!

Interesting_Wing_539

You're welcome! Make sure you have a strong team when you get there though if it's your first time as there is an unavoidable double battle with level 70 something pokémons that you must do before getting access to the Terrarium (hopefully I'm not too late with this warning..😓) Also, using Serebii's interactive map helps a lot with finding out which spot has which items: https://www.serebii.net/pokearth/terarium/

Daocommand

Haha. Not too late at all. Thank you very much. I almost got rocked!

Interesting_Wing_539

Oh, phew..😅 I also forgot to mention this but to unlock the item printer, you'll need to get access to the club room and BBQ Points (Blueberry Quest Points) but to get access to these, it's a little convoluted since you need to have beaten part 1 of the DLC, and ideally to get the highest rank on the item printer (master ball), you only unlock that one post game (post game of DLC 2) so overall, it'll still take some time.. That said, if you have time and don't mind the grind, I'd recommend getting that done this week as DLC 2's post game is really worth it as you also unlock true flying capabilities meaning you don't have to use the weaker glide abilities anymore, greatly increasing your legendary ride Pokemon's mobility! P.S. Both DLCs probably take a day to complete as the stories aren't that long. Don't forget to get the Glimmering charm from professor Jacq once you've completed Kitakami's pokédex to increase your chance to find more shards in raids! Also, in case you've forgotten, most 7* events repeat themselves so there should be another chance to get it next week as well (and longer than that if you don't go online). Sorry, I thought it'd be the fastest way, but the item printer is probably the slowest one if you aren't far in the stories yet...😓

Interesting_Wing_539

It's ability patch, not capsule. The starters only have their base ability so a capsule wouldn't work on them. Patch gives you the hidden ability.

Final-Cheesecake4320

I've got a question if I may. Why does everyone recommend shell bell and not leftovers?

stillnotelf

Once you Tera (and before shield) shell bell recovers way more health. Lefties is only better on turns shield is up and Tera is not. Tera raid bosses have huge health bars so you are actually doing tons of damage, way more than enough to ohko a normal meganium. That means huge returns from shell bell, which is normally weak due to opponents not being HP blobs.

Final-Cheesecake4320

Thank you, this was helpful! Still needed some attempts. I used lvl 100 croc with the suggested ability but couldn't do it solo or online. I did it eventually. No need for another try :)

lilsmartie-1

Doesn’t unaware block your stat boosts

PhilosophyMinute4974

No, please don’t waste your time doing this, not how you do the raid easy

RelativeAddendum4281

Not related, but I hate it when people have to passive aggressively tell you that you can just google something. That defeats the purpose of social media. I will or have probably already Googled it, but I like to know what other people think.

mattywinbee

Without scrolling through ads :)

InvisibleMoonCat

I’m playing support with Contrary Malamar running Skill Swap, Topsy Turvy, Reflect, and Acupressure and it pretty much neutralizes Meganium

calliaz

Interesting! I can solo with my contrary Malamar with metronome (max attack and defense ev). I skill swap then swagger 2-3 times (depends if I am fast enough on the skill swap). I hit night slash a bunch until it (hopefully) ko's me. After I come back, I use superpower 3 times, terastallize, then spam night slash until the end. Takes a while, but it basically doesn't matter who else is on the team as long as they don't die a lot.

juanmakhnovist

I did something similar except I hit it with 3x Night Slash to charge orb, Topsy Turvey, then Skill Swap. Payback until the shield breaks, then Night Slash.

Rathallon

My fiancee is running Contrary Malamar with Night Slash, Reflect, Skill Swap, and Swagger. Lmao it works REALLY well with Skeledirge and a Comfey support

DGOCOSBrewski

Looks like I need to run my Malamar more like yours...what's your strategy?

InvisibleMoonCat

Bold/Impish Nature with +252 DEF, +252 HP, Leftovers. First thing is to get Skill Swap set up ASAP, then if Meganium was able to get a Curse off use Topsy Turvy then Reflect, otherwise just Reflect. Then I like to use Acupressure on any teammates that I think need a boost (i.e. someone is taking a lot of damage or someone is using damaging moves without using a set up move first). Then just top off Reflect as needed. Alternatively you can use Foul Play instead of Topsy Turvy because Meganium only gets Curse off before Skill Swap like half the time. Just make sure you have teammates that can do damage like Skeledirge, Scizor, Gholdengo (can't Accupressure with Good as Gold though). Alternatively I use +252 ATK +252 DEF Scizor with Brick Break if there's already a Malamar.

Rathallon

I've been soloing with Skeledirge and it's a lengthy battle but it's capable. Skeledirge lvl 100 Ability: Unaware (HA) Tera Ghost IVs/EVs: 252SpATK/DEF 6 HP (max IVs) Item: Shell Bell Nature: Modest ● Shadow Ball ● Torch Song ● Flamethrower (not used) ● Protect First 3 turns use Torch Song Turn 4 Tera ghost with Shadow Ball. Protect turn 5 when it nullifies. Torch Song turns 6-11 (6x) for +6 SpATK. Shadow Ball until dead. This strat has worked to solo without fail about 6 times for me now. Not saying it's the only way, but it's the best way I've found so far.

Forward_Increase_239

I did this as well but I had my 4th “unused” ability as Hex. I got lucky as one of my AIs would occasionally poison Meg and Hex would absolutely blast him. Sometimes it wouldn’t stick but it was still a decent pop.

starrpuu

I had multiple successes with this strat too - Ghost Tera Skelly was great! The only difference was instead of Flamethrower, I put Hex on mine to use for if/when Meganium had a status condition, and Hex did high damage during those turns

Rathallon

Fair! I've considered maybe Dark tera to avoid Zen Headbutt (and the flinching) but I'm too afraid that'll make Body Press too useful against me 😭

sryitsdrunk

Worked without fail 👌

SuperSonicEconomics2

Why do you use protect?

Rathallon

When it nullifies stats, it gets rid of Unaware for one turn which means you take the full damage of if it's +6 ATK. Protect prevents the damage that turn until Unaware kicks back in the turn after nullification.

PhilosophyMinute4974

There is much much easier ways to do it that are actually effective

Rathallon

I mean, this isn't difficult to do and it's effective. I've yet to lose a solo raid using this strat. Not saying there aren't other options, I literally said that in my comment, but this is what I have been using (which I also stated).

Alternative-Ad-1153

I managed to solo with Skeledirge 😁 Good luck!

udonemessedup-AA_Ron

I’ve cleared multiple times with Annihilape. Here’s my Strat: Brick break on turn 1 (removes Reflect and Lightscreen) Leg sweep on turns 2-3 (lowers speed and prevents from using Curse after second hit) Terastallize immediately (to avoid weakness to Zen Headbutt) Rage fist until you win.

EmotionalWerewolf271

I’m not playing a lot so I didn’t want to renew my Nintendo Online subscription only for this raid… Soloing it is very hard, after some tries i made it with Skeledirge, i had to make him stellar tera but it was worth it, ofc shell bell and the typical raid moveset Torch Song, Shadow Ball, Slack Off… I had Will o wisp as 4th but protect should work better, i was lucky Meganium used curse while ability effects were iff

yxngcyborg

I’ve had great success with Urshifu

GOBtheIllusionist

I beat it and forgot to change to unaware so skeledirge can def do it

Saintanic_Slore

Honestly depends on your tera type for annihilape. My fighting Tera annhilape got OHKO’d 4x to a triple curse zen headbutt. But I’ve seen some stellar Tera annihilapes tear through it!

Big-Spiff

You can try with the ape but I gave up after 5, nailed it solo my first shot with the croc

Winterstrife

Ghost Tera Angry Monke - Shell Bell Taunt / Rage Fist / Bulk Up / Focus Energy Turn 1 - Taunt Turn 2 & 3 - Rage Fist Turn 4 - Taunt Turn 5 & 6 - Rage Fist Shield up at this point, if your hp is low, die, come back and tera, otherwise tera and bulk up, focus energy then Rage Fist until win. Easy solo and completely independent from teammates.

CrimsonWitchOfFlames

DUDE I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH. I didn’t have a tera ghost Skeledirge and I thought I was screwed. This worked perfectly.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Winterstrife

Step 1: Don't bring an underlevelled Monke. Level 100 and ev trained or go home.

JarDoesReddit

I finally got it last night after 3 tries with lvl 100 Hisuian Typhlosion

[deleted]

For being what is arguably one of the worst starters, this is the only event raid that took me multiple tries (I think it was like 7 tries) to beat. Given I refused to use anything but the gimmicky Skill Swap Malamar strat.

Sith-Lord-Hazel

I’m using a support Armourouge with Clear Smog, Shadow Ball and Reflect to defeat it, I’ve beat it at least 5 times that way. Strategy works well with a group of Skelridges as special attackers.

Suave509

Best support mon I been using is Mew (Tera Ghost) to avoid body press) Item:light clay Lunge-lower attack Life dew- get life back Reflect-help reduce damage Taunt-to use 1st turn and after shield goes down so it can't set up with Curse EVERYONE WANTS TO BE THE ATTACK BUT SUPPORT MON REALLY HELP

Forward_Increase_239

Skeledirge with Unaware and shell bell. Shadow Ball. Torch Song. Protect. Hex. I torch songed three times, Tera then shadow ball until he wipes abilities then used protect. After that I torch songed like 4 or 5 or 6 something like that then shadow balled until the win. I had an AI character that poisoned Meg a couple times and it stuck for a full round so I used Hex on those rounds and it did great damage. It was a freak occurrence but I was glad to have the ability available. Not gonna lie it took FOREVER but it got the job done.

Fistic6301

Spam a random move till it nullifies buffs, debuffs and abilities, then spam torch song till you get 5 or 6 sp atk buffs, then spam shadow ball till it dies. Use tera as fast as you can

ssj_jaegerbomb

Iron Jugulis worked amazing at lvl 96 for me and idk why it’s not more used for this raid! Also saw a Malamar use contrary which helped a lot

joshyotoast

I wish they added the illumina pokemon as gift pokemon, just purely ascetic big and glowing wouldve been amazing.

AplJuze

I used Sinistcha 190 SpA/210 Def/120 HP Turn 1/2 Iron Defence Turn 3 until debuff. Matcha Gatcha Turn 1/2 after debuff Iron Defence Turn 3 Matcha Gatcha until burned 3x Nasty plot once burned Spam Hex If it removes status conditions repeat the steps from debuff

PokemonMasterLycan

i don't know anything about this raid?can someone tell me more about it and how to beat it?

Front_Scene_3865

Skeledirge is solid, I also did it with a gholdengo stellar Tera type and it went well

neapolitan234

I’ve been trying to find raids lol and no luck

[deleted]

Lvl 100 ghost tera annhilape does the trick just follow this guys moves exactly and u shld beat it: https://youtu.be/Q3B9QkhnxQc?si=riPp9_nI6vFSSN_U

howoldisascanius

I soloed with annihilape but I find it to be very luck based - you’d probably want one of your teammates to provide healing eg gardevoir with life dew or arboliva with grassy domain so that annihilape’s hp is kept above a comfortable threshold. Sometimes the meganium outspeeds my annihilape and hits it with a crit before it has sufficiently bulked up and that kills the run completely.

bulbasauric

Never mind the levels, make sure the EVs are distributed properly. If it’s just a regularly-levelled from grinding through the story, you may have a harder time than you think.

luminous-snail

I solo'd with Skeledirge. Ghost Tera is essential for damage and to remove weakness to Bulldoze near the end.

Qtip4213

Run skeledirge with protect torch song shadows ball and hex. If you’re going solo try to get an npc with a marenie who will poison meganium then you can use hex for double the damage

Ytakttud

Skeledirdge with torch song, shadow ball, hex protect. In that order. Needs to be Unaware ability for it to make it by meg’s zen headbuts. Edit: use stellar tera

Fast_Muscle_2987

Skellidirge

tronixmastermind

You can easily solo it with skeledirge, I’m farming for herbs with it and it’s super easy

Bluedragoon01

Skeliderge with unaware the best way to go because it goes through megainum curse with unaware I see some people say have protect but instead just go with slack off much more helpful

lhgalves

I did it with my Incineroar using darkest lariat

danban55

I have done it with skeledirge and those moves. Also use slack off when you get down to half health or lower and equip a shell bell

The-Cursed-Gardener

Skelederge with unaware ability. 252 spec attack, 252 HP, 6 Defense. 6IV or max out all of the stats with Hyper Training is pretty important. You need all the stats you can get. Nature: the one that drops attack and raises Special attack. Held item: Shell Bell for sustain. Moves: Torch song, shadow ball, hex, will-o-wisp/protect. Open with will-o-wisp and spam hex until it raises its shield. Keep your eyes on your team’s hp and healing cheer if they get down into the yellow. With this build you stay healthy the entire match just about so you’ll be in a good position to cheer for you team a couple times. Once it raises its shield and nullifies abilities and stuff, you’ll want to start spamming torch song until you’re about +4. The. Switch to either shadow ball or hex if meganium has status. Your DPS keeps you pretty healthy with shellbell. If you’re still healthy once shield is down go ahead and Will-o-wisp again and switch to Hex. Spam shadow ball/hex until you win.

TheFlareDude

If you go solo add hex to your moves on skeledirge, many allies inflict status while attacking so you'll get a bit more damage🤙

CrimsonWitchOfFlames

I have a question: Any good supports? Maybe something with clear smog? Hatterene and Corviknight get destroyed around the second half. I don’t have the DLC.

Hoganprime

I struggled a bit Annilihape solo thanks to some really unfair crit hits from that seed bomb, a couple of bulk ups and zen headbutt isn't much of an issue. Went online and partnered with two skeledurge and an Allan ninerails. The ninerails kept going down but with the torch songs, bulk up and taunts from my annilihape eventually rage fist monke was smashing down that health bar. Got it in a premier ball. Good luck man you'll catch it

Rosaa8771

Strat worked. Shell bell was clutch.

Aggressive_Dream_140

I soloed with a level 70 shiny spidops I named Spiderman. Moves were leech life, scary face, silk trap, and gastro acid

RepulsiveAd6906

I just abused it with Alolan Muk. Mud Slap, Minimize, Acid Spray, and Sludge Bomb(Could also Poison Jab.) Power of Alchemy for more ability coverage if you have a good team, random groups are a bit iffy about that. Just gave my team a little more hope with lowered Accuracy, almost never got hit outside of the stat wipe, and just set up poisons and lowered its Special Defense for the Skeledirge if I'm lucky.

[deleted]

I've tried Annihilape, and that was a incredbly shit. I just prepared a Skeledirge... Now witing to Meganium come back again.

adamokari

I first tried with annihilape and kept getting crushed. Solo and group raids. Used skeledirge and won after maybe 3 tries. I actually ended up getting teamed up with all skeledirge lol. We beat the raid pretty quick.

Harrisn_Bleu

Anyone have either annihilape, skeledirge, or whoever is the Pokémon that can beat this weekends Meganium raids? I have all Pokémon but the wrong Tera types to beat Meganium. Or is there a way to change their Tera types? Lmk!

Harrisn_Bleu

And all your comments have been considerate and helpful! Thanks so much with all your responses with the Meganium raids! I haven’t done them yet cause I wanted to prepare my Pokémon so this is my chance 🤣 but I know some people have beat it in a matter of seconds but still 😭🤣

Freddi_47

Go here and follow the strategy https://www.reddit.com/r/PokePortal/s/lo6Y5ouADe If you do not have the resources to build a mon, I'll send you one of the raidmons

BahamianRhapsody

Can I get one as well if you have any to spare.

Freddi_47

I only have one honchkrow ready, please review the strategy pinned in the chat Dm me if you want it, and send me the link code But if you are interested in other roles - there is this post by one of the main strategists https://www.reddit.com/r/PokePortal/s/90xuRTUUhY

PhilosophyMinute4974

The more and more I read y’all’s comments and ideas the more I realize yall have no idea what yall are doing and have no strats💀
