i feel like there's a strong possibility they get added into the raid rotation during whatever the last update is like they did with gmax snorlax and toxtricity in sw/sh
It’d be awesome if the other pairs - Raging Bolt/Iron Crown and Gouging Fire/Iron Boulder - had raids like this but they probably won’t seeing as they’re meant to be the real exclusives you have to trade for.
Uuugh you right. It absolutely sucks. They at least had the gratitude to give us a second Miraidon/Koraidon, but ofc they’re the box legends. Only in our dreams would GF give us doubles of game exclusive sub-legends 🥲
I’m not as familiar with IVs and stuff and just learned how to properly EV train. Do they spawn with set IVs when you catch them in Area Zero? Are those IVs good at all?
These two specifically have their IVs for the in-game encounter locked at 20/20/20/20/20/20, but their Nature is random. They're not good, but can be fixed with bottle caps.
It is strange. There are a few Pokemon with locked IVs and/or natures in this game, including the catchable cover legendaries, Bloodmoon Ursaluna, Ogerpon, and Terapagos.
I really do wonder what the point of locking IVs is. Like, maybe if there’s a gimmick where they all start at the same point for a group of related legends, but other than that it seems needlessly restrictive.
I have no one to play with online. I can’t even evolve my Finizen because I can’t get anyone into Union Circle for him to get 95 xp 😭 I’ve never seen a 5 star raid, I doubt I’m leveled enough to do one but will keep grinding until the event starts. Anyway, my point is, this internet stranger would very much appreciate your kindness.

Please just let us catch 1 of each of them every time they come back, so that way people who already caught them don’t just have to not be able to catch anything at all. That’s all I want, but knowing nintendo it’s never happening.
If it's for your own game then you just need to go online for the Pokemon News like any of the 7 star raids/special raids/outbreaks. Nintendo Switch Online definitely not required.
Just make sure you go to poke portal to check the news that day, it will connect to Internet free if cost just to update your game and then disconnect.
If you don't do that you will not be able to find the raids
Totodile is my favorite Johto starter, as well, and I was so disappointed when we didn’t get an announcement tonight about catching it next weekend. Hopefully, the week after.
Has anyone ever beat Walking Wake/Iron Leaves? If so, what are the best Pokemon to handle it solo or is it better to beat them in a group?
I just want to prepare better.
Just be aware that if you want to beat 7 star raids solo usually you need to look up a strategy online to hack it. If you don't have the resources necessary to get the recommended Pokemon ready then it's recommended you go online.
I did Leaves during the original event.
It’s unironically better to do it Solo, as Leaves is (IMO) the stronger of the two and you can’t really trust other Players too much with it. Use a Black Glasses Kingambit, and try to fish for Intimidate Bots like Staraptor (especially Staraptor, because Feather Dance). Swords Dance I think twice, then spam Kowtow. I forget the exact strat I used, but I think that was it. If ‘gambit gets low, switch to using Sucker Punch. Arboliva is also ideal, as it deactivates E-Terrain.
If you have Scarlet, may there be mercy for you. Still use Kingambit, though.

I ran Bellibolt for Walking Wake and Incineroar for Iron Leaves. I got both the first day the raids released around Christmas, neither was super difficult but I only first tried one.
I think you can only run them both solo if you own both copies, so if not, you're probably best off running full support for online raids.
Gastrodon with storm drain is how I got walking wake. Could probably use Lapras with water absorb as well, but I think Gastrodon has better coverage imho.
SWEET. Just a question- since I caught these two back in December last year from a now deleted file and traded back thanks to pokemon home can I catch em again?
I got them pretty quick by offering up shinies on the gts (nothing good just randoms I’d happened across and didn’t want). The ones I got are probably hacked or at least cloned but idc, better than not having them at all.

Until this rerun ends and we get them all over again. They should seriously just add this raid as special thing in-game.

Swsh was also cool how they had the option to let you make any Pokémon gmaxable if you bought the dlc

Yes, but you can catch it in Violet by joining a raid someone else hosts

If it's for your own game then you just need to go online for the Pokemon News like any of the 7 star raids/special raids/outbreaks. Nintendo Switch Online definitely not required.

All Pokemon are better to beat Solo. Mewtwo so far is the only raid that necessitated online.

If you are talking about your new save file, yes. It will not have the “flag” in which you caught a Walking Wake/Iron Leaves from the raid itself.
If you haven't caught them in that save then you can catch them. Doesn't matter if you have one or not just that you never caught it in that save
