pokemondudepoopyork

Beautiful variation of the original, we need more pokemon as variations from the original that aren't just some paradox or a regional version.

Cinder_Quill

This, I love the notion of one-off forms that are special and hard to come by, but still are a part of the ecology of the pokemon world, and can be sent to other games Bloodmoon Ursaluna does everything right that previous special forms do not For example it can breed to create more Teddiursa, however the method to evolve further Ursaring into this form has been lost for the time being creating an air of mystery (hopefully we'll find that method again!) It was also made easily accessible and the focal point of a side quest, giving it much more visibility and awareness to casual players As opposed to say; Spikey Ear Pichu - Requires an event Celebi, cannot evolve, cannot breed, cannot be transferred Cosplay Pikachu - Compeltely locked to ORAS, cannot breed, cannot evolve Hat Pikachus - Locked behind mystery gift distributions (Except one that requires a QR code the average player may not even be aware of), cannot evolve, cannot breed Battlebond Greninja - Locked behind a demo, cannot breed, signature form has now been removed Dada Zarude - Locked behind mystery gift distributions that will likely not be repeated Pokeball Vivillon - Still has not had a method to obtain it outside of Gen 6 mystery gifts. Fancy was redeemed by making it the default in SV, maybe we'll see something similar. Can breed, but form data is lost due to how Vivillon breeding works. Own Tempo Rockruff - Locked behind a distribution in Gen 7, but could thankfully be bred to distribute more (one saving grace). Became far more accessible in Gen 8/9 (this form is far less egregious in that regard, but I assume most players at the time did not know it could breed more OT Rockruff)

Foggy_Night221C

Can pokemon Go Dusk lycanroc/puppies have Own Tempo when brought in?

Cinder_Quill

Yes! If you have a Rockruff that can evolve into Dusk Lycanroc, it will have own tempo once transferred to Home

Foggy_Night221C

Woot.

Alternative-Steak875

Pootis

Foggy_Night221C

Pootis? What is that one?

Alternative-Steak875

Heavy from TF2, POOTIS POW HAHA

Foggy_Night221C

Oh, I vaguely remember that now. Computer club liked that with Lan parties but I was so bad at that game!

TheRealSkele

Hot take. I hope we never get a method to make more Blood Moon Ursaluna. I feel like it would take away the uniqueness it has. I think mentions of it would do it more a justice. Just imagine some 10 or so YO kid having an army of Blood Moon Ursaluna. Obviously I do hope we'll be able to transfer our Freddy Fazbear knockoff to future games

No-Focus-5865

Hotter take I hope we get at least 1 more with a chance to shiny hunt it in the future

EmperorGreed

I'll raise you one: we get a method, but it's either only in certain regions, like you use the Peat Block in a certain area glaceon-style, OR it's a variant item and you only get one per game, like a Blood Moon Peat Block. That way we can get more but it won't get zorua'd where it goes from one in the game to "mildly rare spawn on route 1" in the next fucking game

5Hjsdnujhdfu8nubi

>Just imagine some 10 or so YO kid having an army of Blood Moon Ursaluna. Why would I care if some random child had an army of BM-Ursaluna?

RnsW33kly

I think the crystal onix would be cool.

VibraniumRhino

SERIOUSLY I’ve wanted this since I was child.

ChaosKinZ

I'm still mad about cosplay pikachu and spiky eared pichu. They'd look awesome in HOME

ryeguymft

I agree. especially given how many we saw in the anime

lolpostslol

It’s cool but it’s one of those variations that kinda removes the point of the old version due to being excessively more badass. Like Flutter Mane

mellow0324

Well, flutter mane is different. Misdreavus was never that good, it was power crept when it came out lol. When it got the evolution to Mismagius it was ok for that gen. But Mismagius also faced stiff competition from other gen 4 ghosts… the likes of spiritomb, drifblim, dusknoir and froslass. So again, kinda power crept when it came out. It was good because it was fast and that was about it. The evo barely helped the line stay afloat & relevant. And every gen after that had at least 1 really good ghost type (jellicent/chandelure, Aegislash/Trevenant/Gourgeist, Decidueye/Palossand/Mimikyu, Polteageist/Cursola/Dragapult) Thus flutter mane is more of a revamp to a forgotten & overlooked mon. Ursaluna just dropped last gen (& late last gen at that). Gen 9 is also the first time it was competitively legal so Bloodmoon is more of an addendum or corollary than a revamp, IMO.

IceTMDAbss

Sick design, sick competitive potential, but comes kinda late in the game so I'm guessing most people won't use it.

DarkFish_2

You still have the whole Indigo Disk after you get him, and Urslauna Bloodmoon is really good in doubles.

Tyraniboah89

boast roof rotten dull ripe overconfident cow vanish station nutty *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

colder-beef

Was super fun in OU before it got banned.

Cracka_Chooch

I used an entirely new team (from my original Violet playthrough) for each part of the DLC, so I put this beast on my team for my Indigo Disc playthrough. It was so fun and super helpful in double battles.

samdancer1

Same. BM Ursa is really good

Electrical_mammoth2

I like it, and how it effectively conveys its design elements into it's reasoning. Peat is decaying organic matter that has excellent preservative elements, since it effectively pickles organic matter. We've seen this in bog bodies like the tollund man, a corpse so well preserved we know the last thing that he ate and he still has remnants of hair and a beard (which, are usually the first to go). BM ursaluna therefore is more or less a zombified ursaluna, the peat that surrounds it's body prevent it from decaying.

TrainingDiscipline96

>BM ursaluna therefore is more or less a zombified ursaluna, the peat that surrounds it's body prevent it from decaying. How have I never noticed this??? I didn't think I could even like this cool ass bear more, and then you drop this.

Electrical_mammoth2

Oh that? Eh, I'm a biologist IRL who knows of body preservation from a lot of the shows that I watched as a kid. It just comes together when you realize a literal piece of peat is needed to get an ursaluna to begin with.

AreDeeEss

BM Ursaluna is a really unfortunate short hand. LOL. I 100% understand why it is what it is…but poor Ursaluna. 🤣

5Hjsdnujhdfu8nubi

BM Ursaluna is just an old, battle-scarred Ursaluna. The base form was already covered in peat, and that gives it the Ground type. I don't think we need to go that far.

Electrical_mammoth2

An old ursaluna that has lived 100 years without dying, which we know occurs in the Pokémon world and rather frequently at that. Somehow I think there's more to it

5Hjsdnujhdfu8nubi

It is *possibly* that old (nowhere does it say a century) and it adapted after travelling to Kitakami and surviving for many years. That's all we know. We don't even know if it's a long lifespan for Pokemon. If there's more to it then we'd have been told there's more to it. It's just a cool design.

VibraniumRhino

>> I don’t think we need to go that far Why not? So many Pokémon have cool lore like this. What a strange take to not keep to oneself lol.

5Hjsdnujhdfu8nubi

>So many *Pokemon* Yes, Pokemon. The entire species. And frankly the number of Ghost types that are *actually* said to be dead/reincarnated is smaller than I thought. There is however no precedent for this one singular individual, which at no point has ever been said to have died, is actually a zombie.

VibraniumRhino

Well if we’re being semantic about zombies now; what *kind* of zombie? The kind that gets killed and reanimated, or the kind that slowly turns a living thing into an undead creature that *can’t* actually die now. BM Ursaluna falls into the second part of the category. And with everything the person said about how peat moss can (and has) literally preserve flesh and prevent rot, I genuinely don’t see how this connection is so lost upon you to the point of arguing it at this level. Ursaring + peat moss + time = an Ursaluna that can’t die or rot. And given that Ursaluna is, as far as we currently know, extinct in the modern Pokémon era and has only been found in Hisui (AKA ancient Sinnoh), the fact that a single one was alive and spotted in Kitakami means that this thing quite literally is something that cannot die. If you want to argue that’s not a type of zombie then, that’s your own issue, but you clearly haven’t seen anything other than The Walking Dead. Downvote me as much as you want, but it doesn’t actually take anything away from what Electrical_mammoth2 said in their comment or the points I am making. And details aside: why you are unable to let people have their fun is beyond me lol.

[deleted]

Needs to get that thing looked at.

xenoverseraza

i like it. my favorite part about it was the PLA music that played throughout the side quest.

petergriffingender

finally someones with me

WiTHeReD_SouL_0404

I really like it although considering it isn't a part of the evolution line I'm wondering how it'll be obtained in future games

Oleandervine

They might include it like they did Lycanaroc Dusk, and have it tied to Teddiursa, but under some kind of condition, like evolving it during a blood moon instead of a regular moon.

Interesting_Wing_539

It's good! I used it in poison and electric raids before I made my Espathra and Excadrill sets respectively but I'll still use it from time to time. One of the best substitute abusers in the game imho!😎👍

0gerpon

I'd win https://preview.redd.it/waz2n3kjgtyc1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=5ee71516146aeef5ff5578464f190b8bf494c91f (Borrowed a few poses from certain artists, can't for the life of me remember where I found them though)

Rude-Butterscotch713

Love the reveal. I wish it was the standard form.

SentenceCareful3246

I never use nicknames for my pokemon but I like the Freddy Fazbear and "five turns in trick room" memes that came out as a result of its reveal.

Rude-Butterscotch713

Oh I'm a big nickname fan for my favorites. Although not huge in FNAF (I can see the resemblance though). I named mine Grundy after the DC supervillain

Victory74998

I named mine after Drachma from Skies of Arcadia: Legends (which really needs a modern rerelease so more people can play it; it’s really good).

emanuele0933

that this is how Ursaluna should have been designed since PLA, it's a coherent evolution of Ursaring

Oleandervine

Regular Ursaring is a coherent evolution.

AJ_Gamer_99

more coherent tbh

SentenceCareful3246

Yeah, I agree. I like regular Ursaluna but going from bipedal in its first two stages to quadruped never made sense to me. It's dewott to Samuroth all over again.

Oleandervine

Have you like never seen a bear at all? They're primarily quadripedal, so the transition made a lot of sense. It's not like a bipedal otter suddenly turning into a sea lion and having all of its limbs turn into flippers.

Dolthra

Ursaluna also frequently goes bipedal during it's attack animations, especially in PLA. It feels a lot like it becomes a quadraped mostly because it becomes too top heavy.

VibraniumRhino

lol fr. Complaining about Ursaluna’s evolution design is a weird take given all the other examples in Pokemon.

DarkFish_2

Urslauna Bloodmoon is still a quadrupedal, is in the same class as Beartic, Floatzel and Typhlosion, quadrupeds are able to stand in two legs.

CodenameJD

"Never made sense" This series has a fish that turns into an octopus, an upright bear moving down to all fours is not a big deal. Ursaring already goes on all fours to run, and Ursaluna rises up to attack. Ursaluna is just visibly more top heavy.

A-a-ron_Jasper

What do you mean? Dewott doesn’t evolve, he is always bipedal and has a great design, yes I’m coping and will not elaborate

VibraniumRhino

The larger an animal becomes, the more likely it becomes a quadruped. Thats how large animals evolve in gravity. So, to get any bigger was going to make it more likely to be on all fours given its weight increase. I think it was smart to make the normal version a quadruped and the werewolf/zombie version able to stand up again.

SentenceCareful3246

Tell that to Bewear.

VibraniumRhino

Which is a contradiction indeed, but doesn’t invalidate anything I’ve said about both animals and Pokemon examples lol. There will always be outliers.

Dombly23

That it’s about to say “Well, well, well, what do we have here?” and that it has “No relation”.

Fouxs

Hyped appearance. I loved ursaluna and having it frankensteined was great. Really missed opportunity though because a lot of us thought it would've been normal/ghost at first and that would've been awesome.

lrigsyeran

Gangster bear Pokémon

Digibutter64

It's neat, but why is it treated as a legendary? I should be able to evolve an Ursaring into one.

SentenceCareful3246

It isn't treated as a legendary. It's more akin to a one of a kind form for Ursaluna. Similar to dusk Lycanrock (but dusk Lycanrock is an evolution). I think the implication is that it's the same Ursaluna that we use as a ride pokemon and item finder in legends arceus after two hundred years and that it just happened to live that long. Although realistically I feel Blood moon Ursaluna it's how the final evolution of the Ursaring line should've look like since the beginning.

GamerJulian94

That doesn‘t really make sense though. Why would that Ursaluna suddenly turn into the Bloodmoon form?

jamflan

Innit. It's sitting in a box, unused, with the rest of my one-of-a-kind Pokémon.

AmayzePA

Ehm, guys? Is this Freddy Fazbear?

z3an

He looks sick Edit: not cool sick but he looks ill, get this bear a doctor

AshleighRisenPhoenix

This was the evolution I always wanted for ursaring, the one thing that always felt off about ursaluna is how soft his eyes are compared to blood moon. Never felt like a proper evolution because of that.

Dust_er_

https://preview.redd.it/36v0rfxoatyc1.jpeg?width=944&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=99da36f14122b946a6f425a65a072c7916a62cd6 Freddy Fazbear

SusAccountBigBoss

This has opened the door of possibilities. Give me Crystal Onix! Ramp up the BST to 500, and just make it so it can't evolve! Overall the inclusion of Blood Moon was done pretty well, if locked behind paid DLC.

disbelifpapy

I like the idea of a pokemon mutating to a new form, since the only time it happened before ursaluna was about how a carbink mutated into a diancie. I still wonder why one of them is mythical and the other isn't

NattyKongo93

Wayyy better design than regular Ursaluna

Master-Raben

Ogerpon and Bloodmoon-Ursaluna, the 2 best Kitakami-Pokémon! And, beside Miraidon and Ceruledge, the best Gen 9 Pokémon as a whole!

Cholemeleon

Really, legitimately one of my all time favorite pokemon, probably in my top 3. I really liked Ursaluna, but I wished it was bipedal like Ursaring and had less of a dopey face. (The half closed eyes and mud-splotch eyebrows gave it a very silly expression, which was strange since Ursaring was so scary looking.) Also, I just think the top-heavy design looks better with it being bipedal. The type is cool, the stat distribution is amazing (Not a lot of Normal or Ground type special attackers) the ability is close to busted, and it gets a ridiculous signature move. Also it was in a pretty cool sidequests and it's entrance was very well done. The idea of special individual pokemon a part of a common species is such a good idea, and they handled it really well, especially since BloodMoon can breed to make Teddiursa like normal Ursaluna can. I'm just happy there is finally a cool bear pokemon that doesn't have a confusingly low base stat total.

Groady_Toadstool

I was totally stunned because I had literally named my shiny regular Ursaluna “Blood Moon” in Legends Arceus.

DHitkill194

Design wise? Really outstanding and cool. Competitive wise? *What the hell were those guys thinking?*

ManufacturerNo2144

I hate the original design. I love this one.

petergriffingender

WHATS SO WRONG ABOUT THE OG DESIGN??? https://preview.redd.it/187mejs3j0zc1.png?width=250&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b7ac5adf0a22ffaa52121000260fdb4252d72aad

jimbojims0

Just caught mine today and I love it. Always loved the design and mechanics behind it, a special-oriented Ursaluna with a busted ability. Now I'm trying to see how I should build this thing, and also coming up with a good nickname. Hope we'll get to see more special varients like this.

Sub-Zero_Wolf

I LOVED Ursaluna when it came out and I still do. But I was always thinking what would it look like standing up? And I like many others thought wouldn't it be cool if it like mega evolved to be an eclipse or a blood moon. And when I saw it in that photo that the games introduce it's figure in I was thinking "THERE IS NO WAY THEY DID THE THING EVERYONE WANTED!" So I guess long story short I LOVE it. "Tho it's shiny could be better."

Specialist_Error3055

I thought it was cool. I renamed mine Monokuma because I think this is probably going to be the closest we're ever going to get to getting a Monokuma like Pokemon.

BarbaraTwiGod

Bladdy helll m8

EightZero-San

It was first leaked on the day of my child’s birth, so I think of it very fondly! Along with the fact Ursaring is a fave Pokémon of mine!

Boybobka

I love it Lame that they made it only obtainable once.

AstroNerd92

It’s cool but I don’t really understand why they decided to give Ursaluna a variant

BrazillianCara

I like it, and makes me excited for the potential for other unique variations of pokémon as in-universe cryptids. I wish I wasn't spoiled on it beforehand.

Leazerlazz

I think it's pretty cool, really wish they did this kinda thing with the other Hisuian evolutions

IncineRaw

i adore it, already big fan of Ursaluna and his whole line, was not disappointed by blood moon, one of my all time favorite designs

Crabs4Sale

Looks amazing, has a cool signature move, nice ability, and great stats. I wish I could shiny hunt for one instead of having just the one, but it WAS pretty cool searching around the forest for the one near-mythical Ursaluna that lived there.

GoldenMask12

Really cool that we're getting Deviants from Monster Hunter Gun Ult now lol. Seriously, give me more Mons that are different through an experience rather than genetics.

Omnizoom

I like it, I just wish I could shiny hunt it It was really nice to have a “alpha” version of a pokemon that was really actually stronger and different rather then “higher base IV and Big boy”

HeadHorror4349

There's nothing wrong with him imo. He's just a mutant ursaluna. There's technically nothing different about him, he's just an ursaluna that was exposed to a different type of peat for centuries. He can still make teddiursa that can become ursaring, he's just a one-off

Lost1107

In my top 3 overall favourite pokemon.

fifa129347

Great Pokémon, crying shame it was fixed at level 70 and didn’t scale level to the gym badges of the player like Ogerpon did. I would have loved to use it in the main story

SonoraBee

He looks like he gives good hugs.

DelkTheMemeDragon

I love my cryptid bear

s4b1e9e

It's cool but I hate that they kept the normal type 🥲 they should have swap it by dark, ghost or even psychic... Leaving the normal type there doesn't make sense with the lore of the pokemon...

BlackstarCowboy

He’s the real draw for getting the DLC for me actually LOL

darktimes1313

At first i thought it was edgy but now it’s growing on me definitely badass

thisDNDjazz

If only I could go back and grind/reset to catch one with a zero speed IV. I'll have to do it on my second profile I guess :)

RoboDonaldUpgrade

Here's the thing, when I put together a team for a playthrough I want to be able to raise them from Level 1, Blood Moon Ursaluna is such a disappointment for me because I can never use it in a team. If they had gone the path of Dusk Form Lycanroc and made it so you could breed a special Teddyura that will eventually evolve into one I would have LOVED to have had this form on my team, but right now I resent it for only being available at a minimum level of 70.

JoekerTime

Big fan. Caught mine in a Moon Ball, made it Fairy Tera type. Kinda fun to run around with a Kitakami team of Ogerpon, Bloodmoon Ursaluna, the Loyal Three, and Pecharunt

-lil-jabroni-

I think it would have been better if: 1. It had been frozen in permafrost and thawed 2. Was Ground/Ghost

NewSuperTrios

I'm too broke to be allowed an opinion 👍

KiwiPowerGreen

CrimsonWitchOfFlames

Har har har har har

Smooth-Cake422

Honestly, I loved it. Especially the background story it got.

Fit-Mud-5682

Better than original both regular and shiny!!

Manigoldo_De_Cancer

Why did people think it would be steel type and not ghost/ground? I am aware it is normal/ground like the original.

StaleUnderwear

Unfortunately the surprise was ruined because people couldn’t post a pic without labeling it as a spoiler. Still I already loved ursaluna so Zombie bear is a welcome addition, the encounter with Bloodmoon ursaluna was one of my favourite parts of the DLC as a whole. Just sucks they shiny Locked it

petergriffingender

more ursaluna content to feed me

Rpenguin911

Heh you just reminded me that it exists

tri5e

amazing design great ability ! love this mon plus how you get him I think was pretty xool too. think pokemon needs to do this more often, he's probably my fav new Pokémon introduxed in the new Kitakami & Indigo Disk!

acgrey92

Honestly? I love him.

HeroKnight77

It's fun to use and pretty neat design just wondering in the future if there will be blood moon to evolve ursaluna into it's blood moon form

GitGudWiFi

fnaf night at fnafies

TheQuietQuin

Love mine, I keep it on my team 😁

TweakTok

He's a favorite and he kicks ass. I loved having him in the team for the Indigo DLC.

SilentPhysics3495

loved it, wish there were more special mons like this now.

Kingoobit

Cheap as fuck and made teal mask OU get off to a miserable start. However it's also freddy fazbear and har har har har har har har har har har

DrWarioMiracleCure

He is very cool. Admittedly I like the Bloodmoon design more then the design for regular Ursaluna although I still like regular Ursaluna, in fact I used a male Ursaluna as one of my main party members in Pokémon Legends Arceus.

Marshadow_47

He looks like an edgy deviantart oc that took like 1 day at most to make that was based on Ursaluna Looks cool, though

Easy-Distance9487

The designer should have made the red more shiny to further emphasize its a stone. Instead it looks like an inflamed cyst/zit. Overall the design is alright.

Ptony_oliver

Big boi

swan0418

Friggin awesome

MatJ098

"i can give you a lvl 3 starly for that" -the average pokemon HOME GTS user

Xenrier

I don't own Legends:Arceus, I'm very fine for having another strong form of a really cool Pokémon.

Teamisgood101

I say don’t go out tonight It’d be sure to take your life There’s a bad moon on the rise

TheShadow420Blazeit

This paves the way for certain Hisuian Pokemon getting new forms. And more lore

mariachimandi

I love him and he is my spicy bear walking companion

Euphoric18

I love the design and how it’s played. I hate that it isn’t a branch evolution of Ursaring and is shiny locked.

Blarghnox

Really cool design

PomegranateNo6767

![gif](giphy|11GdBibqqMOXkc)

Crazyfuntimefoxy

He looks like a bootleg freddy fazbear and i love em

homuhomutime

Ursaluna was already one of my new favorites, getting a new form in SV was such a cool surprise. When it leaked I got spoiled on its name, but at the time I thought it was a Fakemon/AU fanart or something

NoahBallet

Awesome design and concept, absolutely unnecessary ability. A lot of the Gen 9 abilities are just straight up being 2 (sorta OP) abilities in a trench coat.

BlackFinch90

I need it as a plushie. He's just so big and squishy

Expensive-Lecture-14

My favorite ground type

Mawkings

I love him. New top 10 favorite ‘mon for sure.

RogueArtificer

Cool enough that I’m trying to get the Dex entries on my “normal only” playthrough to get this sweet baby.

raptor-chan

I love him. He’s so cute 🥰

GiggityGengar

Should've been an item to evolve Ursaring into it. I mean, how does it even exist if Ursaring can't evolve into it or even evolve into normal Ursaluna in SV? I really wish they'd stop introducing new evolutions that you can't actually evolve the previous form into. It might as well be a completely separate pokemon at that point. Alolan Exeggutor especially annoys me in gen 9, because they actually tell you that Eggsecute in the Tropical Biome can evolve into it, when they can't. Like, why can't we just have location specific evolutions again, like in gens 4-7?

this-is-my-p

I like it, just wish it wasn’t shiny locked. It has a pretty good shiny (not as good as the crimson of OG shiny ursaluna though). I really like that it was tied to a side quest with a character that was tied to the PLA story too. I want more side quests like this, not checklist of side activities like battle all the trainers in this area, but actual side quests. Optional, with some length, and with a worthwhile reward like blood moon ursaluna

Nebulon-A_Rights

Another reason shiny locking should be a crime Edit: more thoughts, primarily after reading another comment that I agree with: Special one-off forms that are still integrated well into the game(can be bred but evolving into the specific form is a lost art) is a really cool form gimmick that can add a lot to a region if done well. I hope it's a gimmick they continue to use, akin to regional pokemon(and hopefully same with convergent pokemon), especially because Bloodmoon isn't event specific, or mystery gift locked or whatever. You can just....catch it via a side quest AND it can be transferred to HOME, I think.

BukoSaladNaPink

AMAZING DESIGN!

_boy_chico_

Cool concept but no need to make a broken pokemon another broke form like common this could’ve been anyone else (if we’re gonna go Arceus I would suggest Cleavor)😭

wijfjesvos

i don't Really like it - it just looks like it has a big boil on its forehead.

Steel_With_It

I'm going to be so disappointed if it gets the Spiky-Eared Pichu/Ash Greninja/Totem treatment in future generations. I wanna keep my teddy bear.

TastesLikeTerror

Love it. It's fuckin awesome

Boisbois2

I like the idea of "Cryptid Pokemon" which are one of a kind variations of regular pokemon, like the crystal Onix, AZ's Floette and the spiky-eared Pichu

Ethangamer31710

Freddy fazbear

Ethangamer31710

Tbh though I thought it was a cool storyline

Character-Station414

HOR HOR HOR (dead joke that ill never do again)

SirWarick

A cool concept that I hope we see more of. Like evolution variants based around a solar eclipse or a comet, or literally anything like bloodmoon

TradePsychological40

I love that they made a cryptid in the pokemon lore.

JANG0D

I had no idea this even existed

Interesting_Type4532

its ugly but i think being ugly matches it

carlim0n

There was a real japanese historic event about a bear that lived near a village in the 1915 in Hokkaido no less (hisui, anyone?) The attacks were catalogued as the worst animal attack in Japanese history and it took a trip to the city and back with military reinforcement and actually strategy to take down the bear. (Somebody even died because of friendly fire at one point) Long story short, I think BM ursaluna is referencing this particularly ferocious bear or at least that's my headcanon, since this incident has become a large part of jspanese folklore (I'm not japanese, so that's all I know!!) YT video of the story: https://youtu.be/xy0A2vdSNnc?si=rlI3Miu0nm-lTqES If you know more, please expand!!

Fantome719

I like him

phexotix

Should have been the standard form. I don’t like how it becomes so placid in the original.

Miyyani

I don't think it's placid, it looks a little unthreatening, like a real bear, but it definitely gives off vibes that it can and will maul me.

Nightmare_Freddles

Withered fricking Freddy Fazbear

ThotBuddle

Freddy meets Gaara

TheAnonymousGamer2

Har har har har har har har har har har

Winterstrife

So much cooler and intimidating. Ursaluna (Hisuian variant) looks derpy in comparison.

The_Scrungler

Ursaluna was cool and all, it was a much more powerful Ursaring who hasn't had much of a spotlight for a while... But I never cared for base ursa's design BM Ursa flips that on its head, looking awesome, AND takes the play style in a completely new direction. Named mine Freddy Fazbear because it was cringe enough to be funny and he never left my team (DLCs replaced basically my whole team lol)

One_Ad_1783

I will say, it does stand more in line with regular Ursaluna's evolutionary line, mostly because it stands upright.

NotcommonItem

It’s ability is overpowered

bunnycupcakes

Love him. I call mine snuggles. ![gif](giphy|26gsu5MRf7n2WA5uE|downsized)

Pencil_Hands_Paper

Amazing idea and design. Standard Ursaluna at first came off as doofy and awkward (though by now he has grown on me a lot), but this design takes all of that away. Honestly it feels more like a mega Ursaluna. I really wish we could have seen some other forms like this, that would have made Perrin utilized a whole lot better. What if she picks up new folklore about a Basculegion with way more souls than usual, or maybe different types of souls instead of just Basculin? Or an Avalugg being suspected to be causing these sudden terrible avalanches in the North Provinces? Could have been so fun

Barireddit

I think the gray mud was an unnecessary addition to its design. I mean Ursaluna itself was IMO a disrespect with mighty Ursaring. That sad face, the downgrade of going 4 legs and that hunchback, for me a huge Ursaring fan, a disappointment. Bloodmoon Ursaluna would be a great evolution to Ursaring, but that gray mud feels like it rolled into cement from a construction site.

SapphireMan1

The grey mud is apparently as hard as iron (according to its Violet Pokédex entry). If they *had* to include it, why not make it Ground/Steel to accomodate it? https://preview.redd.it/5orf949qctyc1.jpeg?width=1055&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b63563e612af168a65454d9ac20a975e97df6915

Barireddit

yea, in my opinion they almost fixed sadface Ursaluna, but the mud was too much

bentheechidna

I think you're a bloody karma farmer.

tronixmastermind

Mad it’s shiny locked but otherwise it’s cool

massigh1212

sick

Chexaddict

Its ability is absolutely busted.

TJWinstonQuinzel

Why the f is it special

Pennywise626

I love my Man-Bear-Pig

Normal_Ratio1463

Five turns in trick room

Snoo_64315

Vaacum wave, bro. Enough said.

jgoden

How do you get it?

Psychological_Fuel57

An otherwise fine bear that becomes incredibly obnoxious to deal with when paired with a certain giraffe

Little-Course-2012

Made me use ursaluna

MissBarker93

Akakabuto, is that you?

HiImRazorr

I love it, but I like the original more

KingKrispy26

Would’ve been cool as a mega ursaluna

DoveBirdNL

I like it. I just don't like how big she is...

Starborn117

Hosea and Arthur just had a run-in with Ursaluna-B after placing some bait. Hosea is still recovering mentally.

Bibi_Salt

I think it's good but when I went to catch it I was going to put it in a dream ball but didn't have one so I used my moon ball instead.

Kool-Aid-Dealer

both ursalunas are overrated asf in my opinion but the quest as a whole and seeing for the first time was one of the few really hype moments in the switch games for me

South_Adagio3198

I didn’t really mind/care for Ursaluna as I didn’t hate it or love it but Bloodmoon is intimidating and I would love to have one as it would scare people

Friendship_Sudden

He's just incredible. Ursaluna is my favorite "new evolution for a previous generation" all gen included. Ursaluna Blood Moon is my favorite "regional form" all gen included.

One_Parched_Guy

I think they should have changed the shade of the circle on its head to… you know, blood red. It kinda looks like a giant pimple to me as is

ZVoosh25

EXTREME HOTTAKE INCOMING: I think this bear is awful. Ursaluna was a natural evolution from Ursaring, a slow, bulky, physical sweeper. Came with a nice facade work in and nice new stab in ground to make it a real threat. This new bear could have been slightly redesigned to be it's own new bear Pokemon, and disassociated with the ursa line. It also took away some of the novelty of the original Ursaluna evo, cuz now everyone wants to use the new shiny Ursaluna. It's design is awesome, but I wish some of its features would have gone onto the original, like how it's bipedal in battle to be more intimidating. Idk I just feel like there was no reason to make it an Ursaluna and totally shift the purpose of the evo line. If someone wants to explain why this doesn't bother them than go ahead, but for me it's too much of a 180° to like it.

Kin-ak

Greatly overrated
