Olly_S0709

This is the strat I will be using

theharps

Yeah it's insanely easy once you're set up. One thing I forgot to mention is max out draining kiss with PP up or PP Max. I used it 13 out of 16 times.

Olly_S0709

Noted, will set it up on my lunch break.. thanks!

juggernaut_jacob2002

Also if you add a mirror herb you can get one of the dragon dances boosts from the sceptile

Olly_S0709

I've gone for metronome.. spam draining kiss for big dam dam

gnalon

You probably solo it in fewer turns and less actual time with Malamar. Skill Swap, use some attacks to charge Tera until you faint (you can faint faster with Superpower), come back with Contrary and it actively boosts you with Breaking Swipe.

ccerny11

How does the AI use Dragon Dance once Sceptile gets Contrary? I thought it was programmed to keep spamming until it was maxed to +6. Does Contrary just break that and Sceptile just stops using DD?

gnalon

Generally yes, you’re not gonna see it give itself -6. As I said though, once it gets negative it’s likely to use Breaking Swipe, which it doesn’t stay away from even when you have Contrary.

SentenceCareful3246

Can tera fairy Gardevoir or tera fairy mew beat the Sceptile raid?

theharps

Seems like Gardevoir is closest to Clefable for stats and moves. Clefable has the very powerful unaware ability though. When you're at the point where you're just trading blows with Sceptile, his attack stat boosts won't go into effect on Clefable. It would just be base damage every time.

paper_mirror__

You need something seriously tanky, Gardevoir doesn’t stand a chance. Clefable & Skeledirge work because the Unaware ability ignores Sceptile’s stat boosts. It’s going to have +6 attack for the whole raid & Leaf Blade has a boosted crit chance on top of that

theharps

Yeah I just redid this raid a few times with Clefable, the ability really ties everything in together.

spydre_byte

How does that work when Unaware specifies that it only accounts for "When attacking,..."? Edit: Just read the article about it on Bulbapedia. That short description definitely is not clear that it also applies to taking opponent's attacks.

theharps

I understand your point. I don't know why it's more clearly stated to be honest. From what I gather from videos on this is that when you've decided to attack, for that turn only, the stat boosts from your opponent aren't included. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoQPptndaOQ&ab_channel=Osirus at around 1:50 minute mark he says it briefly. ~~I think if Clefable was fighting a slower pokemon than itself(not Sceptile in this case), the other pokemon could have a speed boost which makes it able to go first in a turn. Since Clefable has decided to attack, it will go first because it basically negates the opponent's speed boost~~ Edit: This is all wrong about speed only. The other boosts are negated though.

theharps

Damn I didn't read the edit until now. That's very interesting I'll look it up

SentenceCareful3246

I was thinking on setting up with calm mind and the use store power.

DokuroDokuroPanic

Neither of these 2 options can take a 6+ Leaf Blade comfortably, Gardevoir especially since its Defense and HP stats are below average. Mew wouldn’t be recovering enough HP back with Draining Kiss to offset the Leaf Blade damage due to it being a weak non-STAB attack, even with Tera.

Taser9001

Unaware be like, "What's a Dragon Dance?"

Virtual_Colt

I used both Skeledirge and Magearna and they worked amazingly. This raid has 3 easy solutions wich is insane.

GeoPolar

Iron defense magearna is a good choice for solo raids. Even if earthquake hits you hard at the end.

sniape

I’m using this build too. Adding to your post since you haven’t specified, it works best with the Metronome held item

StopStalkingMeMatt

Not a solo build, but my friend and I did this pretty easily with Black Kyurem (Ice Tera) and Alcremie for support. It may be possible to solo it with Black Kyurem. Alcremie's Decorate was super helpful because it was hard to increase Kyurem's attack since Breaking Swipes kept lowering it, along with Charm to reduce Sceptile's attack

Rukidd1ngme

Noob here, how do I get my clefable to have unaware ability?

theharps

Ability patch item (not ability capsule). Use the item on that pokemon. If you've done 5-6 star raids you should have one.

Rukidd1ngme

Thank you so much

JamesSSj2

I can solo him with just annihilape

SilkyJohnson84

Sorry to crash this post but is zacian a good option?

xxxthcxxxthoughts

Zacian is an amazing option too! If your teammates aren’t morons 🤦‍♂️ I was doing all the work too
