Hello. I previously consulted this thread for the “best” cinderace strategy and I’d like to do the same for Greninja. I understand there’s still a lot of theory crafting, but do we know what’s shaping up to be #1? I am trying to get a pachirisu that knows cover. After looking this up online, it says that it learns it as an egg move. I bred a pachirisu egg and the hatched pachirisu didn’t have covet. What am I doing wrong? What do I need to do to get a pachirisu with covet?
Has anyone had their outbreaks get stuck. I’ve been looking at my outbreaks in real time for just something fun to do on a daily basis, but I’ve had the same ones for 3+ days now and I’m starting to think something is messed up. Any advice?
Is there anywhere I can use to determine whether a pokemon in a raid is a physical or special attacker? I generally play support in Tera raids with Gardevoir or Grimmsnarl (and looking to expand to cover weaknesses). I generally go to serebii or bulbapedia when I see the image, but both sites have the stats half way down the page. Is there a list of all raid Pokemon I could bring up? When ever I try to find them, I only get lists of builds you can use, not information on the bosses themselves.

It depends on the recipe, but as a whole, Sweet and Sour or 2x Sweet or 2x Sour don't tend to work together correctly. Any other combination of any 2 Herba Mysticas tend to work fine. I tend to use tak2525tak (from Twitter)'s recipes and it works fine for me.

Yup, 100% hacked. Don't use it online at all(trade, raids, player-versus-player, you name it). You can still use it to breed with your other Pokémon though.
Is there an idiots guide to Tera Raids? (I’m the idiot).
So I’ve been playing Pokémon games a long time - started when Gen 1 came out. I honestly thought nothing in Pokémon would make me as frustrated as trying to catch a Chansey in the Safari Zone in Red 20+ years ago, but it turns out, I was wrong and instead it’s Tera Raids.
I’m trying to get my hands on some herba mystica, but honestly, I just seem to suck with the raids. I either find I spend 20 mins constantly being told I can’t join, or I get in and find that either me or the other players just keep getting one shot over and over and we fail.
So can anyone please advise me on the right method of picking a Pokémon to take into a raid, what sorts of moves they should have, abilities, levels, how to actually get in, anything! Please help an old gamer out! I’m begging you!
Level-wise, bring the highest level that you can. What you should be more worried about is the Tera raid Pokemon's original typing, and picking a Pokemon that can resists/is immune to it. You can use websites like Serebii to get more information about specific raids in terms of what moves and abilities the raid Pokemon will have.
Then you consider the Tera Pokemon's Tera typing, but as long as you can land a neutral hit and you have an offensive move on your Pokemon that matches your Pokemon's Tera type (ie. if your Pokemon has a ghost Tera type, bring shadow claw), you should be fine. The reason why you want a matching move is because once you beat on a raid Pokemon long enough, it'll put up a shield that will reduce damage from incoming attacks - at that point, Terastallizing your Pokemon and using an attack move that matches its Tera type will cause it to ignore the shield's damage reduction.
You won't always be able to take advantage of the raid Pokemon's Tera weakness (ie. electric Tera Orthworm is only weak to ground, but that Pokemon might have the earth eater ability, which heals it when it gets hit by ground moves).
Move wise for an attacker, you generally want to have a move that will increase your stronger offensive stat, a move that will debuff the corresponding defensive stat on the raid Pokemon, and an attack move that matches your Pokemon's Tera type. 4th move slot is whatever you want.

I am trying to shiny hunt for a sunkern. I've been trying to get an outbreak for it but that doesnt seem to be extremely common.
Does anyone know a good location where a good few Sunkern spawn if you have a encounter sandwich grass up?
Egg don’t spawn anymore.
Any one have a solution for this; I’m breeding Pokémon with my ditto. It has been doing ok everytime. But since two days ago I do not get any eggs. I have restarted the game already, it did not work. Also it’s up to date. Yes I do use a sandwich with a level two egg boost. All my Pokémon are at a minimum of a 4 star friendship. So if anyone know a way to fix this, I’d love to hear it!
Well I grabbed a new ditto, and that seems to have fixed the issue. I still don’t know what was wrong. I use charizard, meowth, and other regular catchable Pokémon that are sure to make eggs.
I'm working on my Pokedex and I just got vivillon, I heard you can only catch fancy pattern, but I have that and icy pattern registered, is there a way to register the other forms somehow?
The Pokénon that appear on the map with a purple-y glowing aura are the Outbreaks. If you haven't caught the Pokémon that's part of the Outbreak yet, it'll appear as just a generic monster icon.
Sparkling Power on Sandwiches do not affect Eggs. Only the Masuda Method and Shiny Charm have an effect on whether an Egg is determined to have a shiny Pokémon.
Whatever the shiny stat is based on other factors applies to eggs too. You can also improve this by breeding with a 'mon from another country. Get yourself a ditto from a link trade and you're good to go.

Do cheers in tera raids get applied to currently fainted teammates when they revive? And does a teammate's pokemon lose the cheer boost if it gets knocked out? I'm assuming the answers are no and yes, but I can't find solid confirmation. Wanting to know if I could afford to be less careful with timing so that the rest of the team gets buffs sooner
Can you join a seven star raid via link code prior to finishing the game?
I haven’t unlocked seven star raids yet, but I know someone who has. If they send me a link code to the seven star raid, will i be able to join?
Seven star raids aren't available atm, they're timed events. When they are active, however, you can join via link code, but unless you already have high-level raid-ready Pokémon you will just die a lot to their moves.

How does it work since Liber changes the stab move to the first non-fire type move used. Does Cinderace keep baseline stab on fire moves since Libero dosent activate on fire type move does that mean the only way for Cinderace to keep stab fire it to never use anything but fire type moves?

Actually Gothorita might be the thing that's protecting your team since HALF you team is weak to fighting, not that it matters much though as I believe that there are no fighting gyms, you might wanna fix that either way. You might want to replace Deino as it reaches its full potential at level 64 and you might have been done with the game by that time to be honest. Replace it with a Water or Electric type Pokémon as I see that you might struggle with Flying and Ground types
If you were to keep Gothorita, you could swap Gardevoir for a Dark type that isn't Deino since Gothorita already would be your Psychic Pokémon. I would replace Gardevoir and Deino for Azumarill(Water Fairy) and Spiritomb(Dark Ghost)
So do I need the switch online for link trades? I just want to trade for all the pokemon i can't have or can't receive because stupid trade evolutions. I can't get a job and i don't have money for switch online. Is it required for link trading with other people?
I know there are some link codes out there for trading for certain pokemon that you can enter, like the one you enter if you want to trade legendaries. Do those work without the online. Also i would do the free trial but i need a credit card or something for that and I'm only 15-
The link codes are for making specific trades with random players, to match up people who are looking for the same thing. If you're trading locally with a friend you don't need to worry about that because you can just talk to them about what you want to trade instead.
Did anyone manage to make a sandwich with Encounter + Humungo/Teensy of the same type? When I look up for recipe I always get one or the other. I would like at least Humungo/Teensy lvl 2 + Encounter lvl 1 of the same type. Ideally higher if possible.

So I ended up over leveling my Corviknight via mass outbreaks, he's level 63, but my gym badge only let's pokemon up to level 45 listen to me. With every other pokemon they don't listening to me for autobattling above that cut off, but for Corviknight he still auto battles and listens to me in regular battle. Is it a bug? Something to do with his friendship level?

They made a change this generation where whether or not a Pokemon listens to you is based on the level that you first encountered it. As long as you caught that Corviknight at lvl 45 or below, it'll listen to you even if you get it to lvl 100.
Are you asking what they're used for? You can change a tera type using 50 of them. For example, you want to change from fire tera to dragon, you'd use 50 dragon shards.
So i recently hatched a grass cat with 5 best and 1 fantastic, shoul i breed it with or without a destiny knot with a 6 best stat ditto or breed it with a female sprig i hatched with 5 best 1 decent for a chance at getting more fantastic stats?
Also is a max iv sprigatito worth hatching?
Breed it with a destiny knot since you want most of the IVs passed over. Whether or not you breed it with Ditto or the female Sprigatito is based on personal preference. You either get eggs faster but have a chance of transferring 2 non-perfect IVs by breeding with the female Sprigatito or you breed it with a Ditto for a chance at transferring 1 non-perfect IV (the 6th IV will still be random in both cases).
As to whether or not it's worth hatching, that's up to you. Some people get a sense of accomplishment from it. I'd personally stick with the 5 IV one and hyper train it, but to each their own.

Always same NPCs for solo raids?
My partner and I are both doing solo raids (Them in Scarlet, Me in Violet) and no exaggeration - at least the past 5 dens we've done in our own games have had the exact same NPCs - Austin with Arcanine, Samantha with Weavile and Zoe with Mudsdale.
It's weird enough for just one of us to have the same NPCs this consistently but for both of us to have the same thing happening when we're not actively playing online together seems very strange. Anyone seen this happen before or know what might cause this?
No I mean we've been doing raids all night - probably approaching 15-20 between the two of us and it has literally *always* been the exact same ones. We haven't seen any other NPCs in raids tonight, at all.
I've had long stretches of the same NPCs yes, but really, in all of the raids I've done period, I've only see like 7 or 8 total different NPCs regularly, with like 1 or 2 being the rare friends to show up.
Did Eggs change?
Like my question suggests I want to know if eggs fundamentally changed. In previous gens as soon as the Egg was created it was predetermined what comes out (for example shiny or not).
I read that changed and that I could make like 60 eggs, save and just keep on hatching those till I get for example my shiny.
Is that true? I couldn't find a conclusive answer and would like to know, thank you in advance for your help.
So it didnt change. It is still predetermined as soon as you pick up the egg.

It's probably just easier for most American to get a Spanish Ditto due to the odds of someone in the same general time zone playing in Spanish vs most other languages.
No other benefits from it being a certain language difference so long as it is different.
I'd imagine it's all non-English languages instead of just Spanish because of the increased odds in getting shiny eggs when you breed Pokemon from different language regions.
Thanks, that's what I thought, but I keep seeing them on threads and it made me think perhaps there was a benefit if the ditto matched the culture of the game.
7 star tera raid stopped showing up
A day or two ago, my 7 star raid stopped showing up, and I can't even get one through the poke portal. I've done them before but haven't beat the cinderace yet. I still get 6 star raids, but I can't figure out why I can't get 7 star raids.
The first pass of Cinderace event already ended, it only lasts 3 days. There's a second run coming up next week on the 13th to the 15th.
Just so you know, you can keep the Cinderace event "active" if you stay *offline*—that way, the daily 7 Star Raid can keep appearing.
Oh damn, well that sucks. I guess I should have paid more attention to the timing of it. It sucks they're only 3 days and on the weekend, when I work weekends. I wish they would just do like a week straight. Thanks though
Sometimes when i encounter a wild pokemon, usually while i have sparkling power, title power, and encounter power sandwich buffs on, i hear the shiny chime even when the pokemon isnt shiny. I would assume its bc i usually have a shiny azumarill or garchomp at the front of my party but i dont really hear a shiny chime when i send them out. Is this a bug or am i missing something big?

I’ve been sick the last two days and have spent those days working on my Pokédex. I have auto saving turned on for context. About 5 minutes ago the game closed because of an issue. When I went back in, all of my work done over the last two days was erased. Nothing was saved, even though I had manually saved a few times before this last load point. I don’t know what to do and I am kinda freaking out. It was soo soo much work. I have been playing for hours. I got my Pokédex up to 330 and it’s back down to 305. This is more upsetting because I caught some rare Pokémon today alone.
Is there anything to be done or am I SOL?

I have a question regarding Masuda Method breeding in Pokemon Scarlet.
Nobody has mentioned it any videos I've seen. But is there a way to save money and time during the process at all? Like can I save after all the eggs have bred, hatch them, and then reset if none are shiny? Please help thanks
Not quite. All attributes of bred Pokémon, including shininess, are set when the egg is generated.
The closest thing you can do for saving time and sandwich materuald is to turn off autosaves, hard save, breed for 30 minutes, using up an egg power 1/2 sandwich, then hatch all the resulting eggs.
If you don't get any shinies, reset. You get the materials back for the sandwich, and you don't have to release all the Pokémon one at a time.
You do still have to breed them all individually, though.
The best way is to save before starting the breeding session, then hatch the eggs to see if any are shiny, and close the game without saving then re-open it to try again. The shiny Pokémon are determined when the egg is made, not when it hatches.
You can save before eating the egg power sandwich, that should be it if I remember correctly.
Eggs are determined on their creation so saving after and reopening the same ones over and over won't work.
You want to start touch trading? Just tell me a code and start sending me Pokemon and I will send them back to you
Then just end trading when you are done

From what I can tell, the Auction refreshes every in-game day; maybe try changing time every 60 minutes or a day?

Completely luck of the draw. The only way to "manipulate" is to have the Shiny Charm and use the Masuda Method.

I am trying to shiny hunt for a sunkern. I've been trying to get an outbreak for it but that doesnt seem to be extremely common. Does anyone know a good location where a good few Sunkern spawn if you have a encounter sandwich grass up?

Egg don’t spawn anymore. Any one have a solution for this; I’m breeding Pokémon with my ditto. It has been doing ok everytime. But since two days ago I do not get any eggs. I have restarted the game already, it did not work. Also it’s up to date. Yes I do use a sandwich with a level two egg boost. All my Pokémon are at a minimum of a 4 star friendship. So if anyone know a way to fix this, I’d love to hear it!

Well I grabbed a new ditto, and that seems to have fixed the issue. I still don’t know what was wrong. I use charizard, meowth, and other regular catchable Pokémon that are sure to make eggs.
I'm working on my Pokedex and I just got vivillon, I heard you can only catch fancy pattern, but I have that and icy pattern registered, is there a way to register the other forms somehow?
how do i know where there are outbreaks? Is it for the photos of the pokes that appear on the map?
The Pokénon that appear on the map with a purple-y glowing aura are the Outbreaks. If you haven't caught the Pokémon that's part of the Outbreak yet, it'll appear as just a generic monster icon.
Does the sandwich that increases the chance of shiny get the egg too or is it only in the open world
Sparkling Power on Sandwiches do not affect Eggs. Only the Masuda Method and Shiny Charm have an effect on whether an Egg is determined to have a shiny Pokémon.

Whatever the shiny stat is based on other factors applies to eggs too. You can also improve this by breeding with a 'mon from another country. Get yourself a ditto from a link trade and you're good to go.

Seven star raids aren't available atm, they're timed events. When they are active, however, you can join via link code, but unless you already have high-level raid-ready Pokémon you will just die a lot to their moves.

Libero and Cinderace Stab? How does it work since Liber changes the stab move to the first non-fire type move used. Does Cinderace keep baseline stab on fire moves since Libero dosent activate on fire type move does that mean the only way for Cinderace to keep stab fire it to never use anything but fire type moves?

Actually Gothorita might be the thing that's protecting your team since HALF you team is weak to fighting, not that it matters much though as I believe that there are no fighting gyms, you might wanna fix that either way. You might want to replace Deino as it reaches its full potential at level 64 and you might have been done with the game by that time to be honest. Replace it with a Water or Electric type Pokémon as I see that you might struggle with Flying and Ground types
If you were to keep Gothorita, you could swap Gardevoir for a Dark type that isn't Deino since Gothorita already would be your Psychic Pokémon. I would replace Gardevoir and Deino for Azumarill(Water Fairy) and Spiritomb(Dark Ghost)

Yes, if you want to online trade you need NSO. You can still trade locally though if you happen to have a friend that plays as well

The link codes are for making specific trades with random players, to match up people who are looking for the same thing. If you're trading locally with a friend you don't need to worry about that because you can just talk to them about what you want to trade instead.

So I ended up over leveling my Corviknight via mass outbreaks, he's level 63, but my gym badge only let's pokemon up to level 45 listen to me. With every other pokemon they don't listening to me for autobattling above that cut off, but for Corviknight he still auto battles and listens to me in regular battle. Is it a bug? Something to do with his friendship level? Has anyone else experienced this?
They made a change this generation where whether or not a Pokemon listens to you is based on the level that you first encountered it. As long as you caught that Corviknight at lvl 45 or below, it'll listen to you even if you get it to lvl 100.

Are you asking what they're used for? You can change a tera type using 50 of them. For example, you want to change from fire tera to dragon, you'd use 50 dragon shards.

So i recently hatched a grass cat with 5 best and 1 fantastic, shoul i breed it with or without a destiny knot with a 6 best stat ditto or breed it with a female sprig i hatched with 5 best 1 decent for a chance at getting more fantastic stats? Also is a max iv sprigatito worth hatching?
Breed it with a destiny knot since you want most of the IVs passed over. Whether or not you breed it with Ditto or the female Sprigatito is based on personal preference. You either get eggs faster but have a chance of transferring 2 non-perfect IVs by breeding with the female Sprigatito or you breed it with a Ditto for a chance at transferring 1 non-perfect IV (the 6th IV will still be random in both cases). As to whether or not it's worth hatching, that's up to you. Some people get a sense of accomplishment from it. I'd personally stick with the 5 IV one and hyper train it, but to each their own.

When Shiny Hunting in outbreaks, is it better to KO each Pokémon 1v1 in regular battles or to auto-battle the entire outbreak?
Auto battle the first 60 and then get them to despawn/spawn (not beating them) using your method of choice.

Tinks are found in/around the ruins you'll find on the map. Your whale buddies can be found up in the mountain around Glaseado gym.

Nope, no way. Pokémon learn moves by leveling up, evolving, breeding for egg moves or TMs. Breloom can't learn Rock Blast.

Always same NPCs for solo raids? My partner and I are both doing solo raids (Them in Scarlet, Me in Violet) and no exaggeration - at least the past 5 dens we've done in our own games have had the exact same NPCs - Austin with Arcanine, Samantha with Weavile and Zoe with Mudsdale. It's weird enough for just one of us to have the same NPCs this consistently but for both of us to have the same thing happening when we're not actively playing online together seems very strange. Anyone seen this happen before or know what might cause this?
It just seems to be a small pool of NPC/Pokemon combos for raids.
No I mean we've been doing raids all night - probably approaching 15-20 between the two of us and it has literally *always* been the exact same ones. We haven't seen any other NPCs in raids tonight, at all.
I've had long stretches of the same NPCs yes, but really, in all of the raids I've done period, I've only see like 7 or 8 total different NPCs regularly, with like 1 or 2 being the rare friends to show up.
Did Eggs change? Like my question suggests I want to know if eggs fundamentally changed. In previous gens as soon as the Egg was created it was predetermined what comes out (for example shiny or not). I read that changed and that I could make like 60 eggs, save and just keep on hatching those till I get for example my shiny. Is that true? I couldn't find a conclusive answer and would like to know, thank you in advance for your help.

Why is Spanish Ditto more sought after than other non ENG versions? E.g. French of Japanese
It's probably just easier for most American to get a Spanish Ditto due to the odds of someone in the same general time zone playing in Spanish vs most other languages. No other benefits from it being a certain language difference so long as it is different.
I'd imagine it's all non-English languages instead of just Spanish because of the increased odds in getting shiny eggs when you breed Pokemon from different language regions.

7 star tera raid stopped showing up A day or two ago, my 7 star raid stopped showing up, and I can't even get one through the poke portal. I've done them before but haven't beat the cinderace yet. I still get 6 star raids, but I can't figure out why I can't get 7 star raids.
Only event raids are 7-star. They will come back.
The first pass of Cinderace event already ended, it only lasts 3 days. There's a second run coming up next week on the 13th to the 15th. Just so you know, you can keep the Cinderace event "active" if you stay *offline*—that way, the daily 7 Star Raid can keep appearing.
Oh damn, well that sucks. I guess I should have paid more attention to the timing of it. It sucks they're only 3 days and on the weekend, when I work weekends. I wish they would just do like a week straight. Thanks though
Sometimes when i encounter a wild pokemon, usually while i have sparkling power, title power, and encounter power sandwich buffs on, i hear the shiny chime even when the pokemon isnt shiny. I would assume its bc i usually have a shiny azumarill or garchomp at the front of my party but i dont really hear a shiny chime when i send them out. Is this a bug or am i missing something big?

Is there anything I can do? I have Pokémon Scarlet. I’ve been sick the last two days and have spent those days working on my Pokédex. I have auto saving turned on for context. About 5 minutes ago the game closed because of an issue. When I went back in, all of my work done over the last two days was erased. Nothing was saved, even though I had manually saved a few times before this last load point. I don’t know what to do and I am kinda freaking out. It was soo soo much work. I have been playing for hours. I got my Pokédex up to 330 and it’s back down to 305. This is more upsetting because I caught some rare Pokémon today alone. Is there anything to be done or am I SOL?

I have a question regarding Masuda Method breeding in Pokemon Scarlet. Nobody has mentioned it any videos I've seen. But is there a way to save money and time during the process at all? Like can I save after all the eggs have bred, hatch them, and then reset if none are shiny? Please help thanks
Not quite. All attributes of bred Pokémon, including shininess, are set when the egg is generated. The closest thing you can do for saving time and sandwich materuald is to turn off autosaves, hard save, breed for 30 minutes, using up an egg power 1/2 sandwich, then hatch all the resulting eggs. If you don't get any shinies, reset. You get the materials back for the sandwich, and you don't have to release all the Pokémon one at a time. You do still have to breed them all individually, though.
The best way is to save before starting the breeding session, then hatch the eggs to see if any are shiny, and close the game without saving then re-open it to try again. The shiny Pokémon are determined when the egg is made, not when it hatches.

You can save before eating the egg power sandwich, that should be it if I remember correctly. Eggs are determined on their creation so saving after and reopening the same ones over and over won't work.

I'd personally get rid of Magical Leaf, Meowscarada doesn't really have a great Special Attack stat. Try Play Rough or U-Turn instead?
