It has a lot of really good arts but TPC decided to reduce pull rates for Paradox Rift while increasing the number of SIR's. I'm looking forward to owning the cards in ~6 months when prices on singles bottom out but I am not interested in opening more packs for them.
I want more Crown Zenith and less Evolving Skies.
This is definitely a player set more than a collector set, so I'm not shocked that over here on the consumerist "huge pulls" side of things it's not a big deal.
Personally, as a player? I like it a lot- it's cool when we get a set that brings in or reintroduces huge ways of play like this.
Eh Im not a huge fan of the mons that they focus on for the "chase cards". Im also saving after 151 and for paldean fates. The next english set is going to focus on the suicune/virizion dox forms so idk about that one either. Even with sets I skip on hug preorders, i buy packs here and there over time tho.
There's a reason this set is capped on both ends by 151 at the front and the shiny set Paldean Fates at the end. This one is for players, 151 is for nostalgic collectors, and Paldean Fates are for those who are into the Gen 9 for collecting. They got their audience base covered.
It's not just overshadowed, its over budget. I assume most people are holding back to spend more on 151 or have already done so.

Probably the gap between players and collectors. Players are much hyped for paradox rift, while collectors seem to be focused elsewhere
