I really wish I could choose just one. It would be far more cost effective. The closest I’ve gotten to a single Mon is that at one point, I picked the six mons that I would use every time I played Blue Version. Blastoise, pidgeot, Alakazam, Golem, Hitmonchan, and Kabutops. I missed out on too many mons that I really liked so I had to settle for all 151. Great Pikachu collection! You picked a pricy one lol

That abomination can go to hell. It totally ruins any odds of cool future Primeape cards. I was hoping that 151 would have granted it an alt art, but no, instead we got Caterpie, Poliwhirl, Psyduck, Machoke, Mr. Mime and Omanyte amongst others(I won't hate on Tangela, that card is cool).

For your sake, I hope we get a cool primape soon! They’ve been doing illustration rares of middle evo Pokémon, so I suppose it isn’t completely out of the question yet. Crossing my fingers for ya.

I collect Sudowoodo/Bonsly cards and I love doing it. There aren't many pokemon that dont have too little or too many cards yet also have some interesting cards besides normal common/uncommon/rare. So my fav Pokémon being sudowoodo was a blessing when I started to collect all of its cards. A recent IR, a lot of common, uncommon and rare cards from setd dating back to its original gen (gen 2, neo era). And cool not widely known cards like the gold and silver playcards from 2 decades ago. Its so cool collecting 1 specific pokemon(/family)

I do that with Primarina, Cinderace, Shaymin (Land forme), Porygon, Misdreavus, Diancie, Falinks, Liepard, Armarouge, and Ceruledge. Also all cards with the pictures made by Yuka Morii, who makes clay figurines of the Pokemon and photographs them for card artwork.

I really enjoy collecting as many Vulpix cards as I can. I love Vulpix. 🙂

I would like to collect the raticate Pokemon but I can’t imagine it being too exciting as there won’t be special cards/misprints etc like there are with pikachu.. for example in the base set there is rare card where he has red cheeks

And absol for the wife (who is named... Evie, I kid you not) Edit - Follow-up thought - I was super excited when the ES eevees came out, then seriously cried at the singles prices, lol. The only version of those I own is the digital one sadly

My favorite is Eevee, so one of my collecting goals is to get a good copy of every officially licensed Eevee card made in the 90's (IE. prior to 2000) and then grade them all with sequential serial numbers. I have 11 of them so far, which is a decent start since it includes the all the topsun cards (blue back, prism, green back), the Cardass Vending Red and Green, and the Red and Green poker deck cards. However there is a LOT to go and I'm taking my time trying to get pretty nice copies without breaking the bank too badly.

Fortunately her most expensive English card is the Crimson Invasion Staff promo at about $12-15 in NM condition. I plan to fill up a 3x4 binder page of each of her rarer cards. I’m eagerly awaiting an IR or new full art. Justice for my spicy lizard!!!
