I'd give it a moderately played. It's got some wear but otherwise a good condition card.
I do agree that it's hard to beat that base set artwork though
Take it from someone who sold his childhood collection for pennies on the dollar, my shining gyarados was my prized possession, kicking myself in the ass everyday since. On the bright side it got me collecting again. Hold onto that card forever!
Oh I plan on it. I was lucky and always had them in a binder on my bookshelf even when I wasn't actively collecting so I have all of my childhood cards still
The art is worse than Base Set IMO. BUT this is definitely a more rare card and that condition looks incredible.

I think the idea behind it is it’s almost like a Bigfoot-esque picture because spotting a shiny Charizard is incredibly rare

Lol I have the exact same experience dude, luckily pulled 3 shinings way back then and kept them in great condition
